The avocado salad had fresh guac and I simply just love this birthday meal for myself. My family said the margaritas here are good as well. Definitely will return and next time try their tacos de birria. Service was equally great and someone came out and said my fried fish will take longer thus the whole table meals would come out later too so everyone can be served together. Personally next time if I get the fish again , I'll let them know that I don't mind waiting while my family eats first. I can always munch on their delicious complimentary nachos and home made salsa. I knew it would take longer for my fish to come out but an employee came out to let us know which to me is exceptional service!

We came for lunch on a Saturday afternoon, expecting it to be packed. It was actually pretty quiet and service was exceptional. There were a couple of drink specials that we had to try - a Mexican Espresso Martini with honey tequila and cinnamon simple syrup and a spicy pineapple margarita. Both were amazing. Chips were warm and salsa was good. After we ordered, the food came out quick - shockingly so. Both my chicken tamale and Chile relleno were smothered in this amazing red sauce with nice chile flavor. The relleno had a very satisfying cheese pull and reminded me of what I used to get in Southern California. The chicken in the tamale was a little dry, but I used the red sauce to solve that problem real quick. The dish that I was a little disappointed in was the birria taco - the consomme was very oily and didn't have that depth of flavor that you expect from this dish. There also wasn't nearly enough cheese. The braised beef inside was very very tender and tasty, though. The Pollo Sinaloense - a thinly pounded and breaded chicken breast topped with chorizo and cheese - was unique and delicious, and nicely balanced with a little salad and Spanish rice. The restaurant itself is bigger than it looks from the outside and the booths are nice and comfy. Overall, this place exceeded our expectations. They seem to have a great happy hour and a huge menu, so we can't wait to return to try some more!

We recently had a family gathering at this restaurant, which is wonderful because we've been dying…read moreto try it. It's located near the intersection of 202 and 109 in Sanford. The only problem with the place, is that, they don't have a parking lot. Plenty of street parking, but the road is a busy one, so use caution. The inside is beautifully decorated and has a nice Hispanic vibe. They have a mug club you can be apart of. They have a good size bar, a few tables and a few booths. It's not huge inside, so when they are busy, there is little room to wait. We arrived with a party of 17, when it was supposed to be 10. They were very accommodating and easy to work with. They had our group rearrange once to get them a few more tables, which was perfectly fine. They deliver chips and homemade salsa , as soon as you sit down at the table. The server had short blondish hair, with glasses and a cute little pin on their apron. She was delightful and efficient, considering our party was so large. The food doesn't come right out, like most other Mexican restaurants. It took a bit of time. The food came out fresh, and delicious. We got a steak quesadilla and a chimichanga. The proteins they had on the menu, were so good. We tried steak, chicken, and beef items, and none were dried out, it wasn't all fatty, and it had flavor! You got your choice of black beans or refried beans and rice with most dishes. Someone in our party also got the churro dessert, that was so so dang good !!! There were several different checks and the server was so good about it, and didn't mess anything up! They were really awesome, and the bartender kept coming over to check on as well. There were other servers there as well, assisting where they could. They really seemed to be working more as a unit, then separately. All around, great food, great service, and great atmosphere!! Well done !!! We were there to celebrate our family's matriarch, whose birthday landed on Cinco De Mayo. She passed in February, and we were a large party of family there to celebrate her!!!

We had lunch and all of our friend was great. Good selection of beer. You can easily park around the corner on Main st. Love this place and we will definitely return the next time we are in Sanford. Thank you to the wonderful angel that worked at the Westin for recommending them. We braved the 2 degree weather to get the recommended crunchy taco. The Carne Asada was phenomenal! It hit my soul! It tasted like home. We went to a show at The State Theater and left a little early so we could grab a churro before we headed back to our room. It was delicious!! Better than Disneylands churros! Beyond happy to have braved the cold for this fantastic place that now holds a record in my book! Super cute decor and vibe and the bartender was on top of it! Super friendly and ran a tight ship! I think over time Taco Escobarr has become mostly a tequila bar. You're coming here for the…read moreincredibly loud music, the strong margaritas, a more hip/youthful/fun vibe than at other nearby places on Congress, the badass and brutally honest no-nonsense staff, and - if you have NO dietary restrictions - maybe a taco or two. For me, after all these years... maybe because I got old and with that a dairy intolerance... I'm not the demographic. 1) I don't like tequila, and they themselves genuinely don't suggest any cocktail that doesn't have it (a quote directly from their staff [multiple times]). I tried the Cuba Libre (Mexican cola, rum, bitters, fresh lime) recently... and, for the most part, it was a tall glass of citrus juice; I tasted nothing else. 2) There's really not many vegan options: for a filling, there's only Verdue (ancho chili roasted butternut squash with black beans and arugula). At currently $5.50 for one soft taco (which, veganized, comes topped with a smattering of cilantro and scallions) is IMO not worth it compared to other places in town that are offering similarly priced tacos that are slightly bigger and more creative. NOTE: the fried avocado is not vegan. And 3) the guacamole ($12) here is hit or miss. Sometimes it's kind of bland and gloopy (if that makes sense); and, the portion size has definitely gotten smaller pre and post pandemic. Have fun, tequila lovers. This one's for you!
