Ordered 2 large sodas, a 20 nugget, and 2 chicken sandwiches. Little middle schooler hands us the wrong size sodas, and says "have a nice day". We ask for the right size sodas, and the rest of our order, kid says "that's not your order", makes a face of utter disgust towards us and gets his manager. Manager asks us to pull up and wait, and we say we just want to double check they have the correct order. Come to find out the full order was there and ready on the counter waiting, the kid just handed us the wrong size soda and gave up trying immediately after we told him it was the wrong size. He gave up at the smallest of mistakes, which was no big deal to us of course. The kid just gave up, made a rude face of disgust towards us, and got the manager as if we were giving the kid a hard time. The manager wasn't very polite either, she said "He's just trying to do his job" as if we were being difficult at all??? Then to finish it off she said "I hope you try to have a better day" in the absolute rudest of times I've heard in years. There weren't even 20 nuggets in the box. read more

I've been here a bunch this one recently added a two lane drive through. I kind of hate it. The flow isn't the best as you go though. The people are nice enough though. The food well it's fast food so there's that but for the most part it's alright and this is my favorite of the McDonald's in New England for what it is worth. It's in a convenient spot. read more

Took 30 minutes of waiting to receive 4 McChickens and 2 McDoubles. Everyone else after me already got their orders. I only got mine just after I started this review. We came through and ordered 3 cheeseburgers, one no ketchup, a 10 piece and then 2 drinks. All of our burgers were normal, so we went back through to fix it. Then we realized all 3 burgers had basically no mustard or onions and only one pickle each. Then we realized our 10 piece only had 6 nuggets, (one was eaten before the picture) so we went in to grab a refund. While the kid was asking the manager to give us the refund, we could very clearly hear her cussing about us and saying she would not. Went here 2 months ago and I'm still ticked off. Ordered a deluxe crispy chicken and a double quarter pounder w cheese, and they asked if I wanted a receipt. I said "Yes" and they said "Ok they'll be with you at the second window." I don't know what I was thinking, but I went to the second window forgetting that I didn't get my receipt. I figured oh whatever I'm sure I'll be fine. Nope I got to the second window they handed me 2 buns with a chicken patty and pickle in between, no other condiments. It was inside of what looked like a small fry wrapper for some reason. They didn't give us our double quarter pounder with cheese either. They stuffed about umpteen f#%king napkins in the bag for a dry chicken "sandwich" though. For being polite as I was at the windows and only ordering two items, eeyore and pooh quickly dismissed me like I was an undesirable piece of trash. Called on the phone later that day asking how they mess up so bad when the sandwiches are right on the screen and they called me a f#%%ot and told me to go f#%k myself. Oh yeah and one of the male employees in their scratched me with his acrylics back on grimaces birthday. They may have the slowest workers in the world here. I'm not sure what happened to this particular business in Windham, because every other place I've been to in this town has competent, friendly, speedy workers. Unfortunately, this McD's, didn't get any of those employees. I have been here for a drink and it has taken me more than 10 mins, even though it didn't take me that long to order. Myself and few other friends have had terrible experiences here with the customer service. One friend was just trying to write a review for Yelp, which then turned into a principal-like reprimand from the staff, in which they were then asked to leave the premises for taking a picture of the service counter. First, in a public establishment you can take pictures, unless otherwise stated. Secondly, this is McDonald's, not some high end foodie joint in NYC, that has top secret recipes and specialty table side service. It's freaking McDonald's. Did I mention this is McDonald's? I opted to go inside because the drive through lane was wrapped around the building. Inside it was clear most of the staff was working to maintain the drive through. The staff at the counter were slow. Im not sure I saved any time by avoiding the drive through and going inside. read more

TERRIBLE! Will not be visiting this establishment again. For starters: we were the ONLY patrons in the restaurant..not one other customer seated or in line. You think we'd have a great experience? Me too. We didn't. Not at all. We ordered our food. Not one table was clean enough to sit at. Not one. Thankfully I had anti-bacterial wipes in my purse. I cleaned the table myself. Then we heard "order 326!" quite loudly. (Reminder that we were the ONLY ones in the restaurant.) I walk up to the counter to get our food. It was in brown paper bags. We were eating inside the restaurant, which she asked me "for here or to go?" I clearly stated "for here." I asked for a tray. The employee sternly stated "we don't have any clean trays right now." Why not I was thinking to myself. Nobody in the restaurant & several employees standing behind the counters talking & laughing. Take one of them away from the kitchen & have them actually work. Clean the pile of dirty trays. Once we sat down, we figured we would just eat our food & leave. However, even as the ONLY customers, my daughters Happy Meal was missing the main part..the chicken nuggets. How? Just how does this happen when we were the only one who ordered food? I am a fan of McDonalds and have enjoyed visiting their restaurants for many years. When I was a lot younger, I enjoyed their sandwiches, specifically the Big Mac. Well, that was then and now I visit mostly to get a drink and take advantage of their free internet. I will occasionally use a coupon and pick up a breakfast sandwich. In fact, I was very excited when they decided to provide its customers with all day breakfast. Finally, I can enjoy an Egg McMuffin anytime! Now onto my scary, embarrassing and recent visit to the Windham McDonalds. As you read this review you are going to think that this is a tale of fiction, but trust me when I say, every word is true, after all I lived it. Here goes! My wife and I were returning from our camp and we decided to pass through Windham, Maine, so she could do some shopping. I dropped her off at Marshalls and decided to go to McDonalds for a drink and check my emails. Ironically, she actually suggested that I go to Burger King instead because it is located in the same parking lot and would be a bit safer than crossing the street to go to McDonalds. In retrospect, I probably should have listened to her. Anyway, I didn't take her advice and went to my old standby, McDonalds. I parked, entered and went to the counter to order a drink. I waited in line for a second or two, then the cashier took my order, a soft drink. While paying, I asked for a plastic cup instead of a Styrofoam one. I really can't stand those Styrofoam ones and they aren't all that good for the environment either. The crew member made the extra effort and granted my request. I went to get my drink and realized they didn't have any ice-tea, so I decided to try the diet coke. I put some ice in my cup with a little diet coke. When I took a drink, I decided that it wasn't for me and that I really wanted ice-tea. Again, I went to the counter to find an employee very helpful, as I asked about the ice-tea. She told me they had it and much to my delight, she filled my cup. I then sat down to check my emails and decided to add a review to my Yelp account. I logged in and began answering the general questions. When I came to the question about taking a photo of something interesting, I decided to take a photo of the front counter because they had been so helpful. I took the photo and sat down to enjoy my ice-tea. A few minutes later, I was approached by a young man who told me I wasn't allowed to take photos and asked me to leave. Embarrassed and not wanting to make a scene I said fine and put my laptop in my bag and left. I retreated to my car and decided to work on my review and now this is where it gets even more bizarre. As I was working on my review, an older man, I can only assume he was the manager, came out and eyeballs my car, then me and finally takes a look at my license plate. This is all happening while I am sitting in my car in the parking lot, working on my review. I wondered what was going on here. My wife called, so I left to pick her up and headed home. When I got home I sat down at my computer and continued working on my review, when I had to pause from writing to entertain the police officer in my driveway. Hold on! Yes, the police paid me a visit at my house! I guess I could understand if I was taking photos of the customers and they were complaining, but that wasn't the case here. I took one photo of the counter to use in my review praising the customer service I had received. The police officer was from the town I lived in and he was just following up on a report from the Windham Police. I explained to the officer that I was simply working on a Yelp review, so he called the Windham Police back to explain the situation. He also told me that there isn't a law against taking photos in a public place and then he wished me a better evening and left. Anyway, that's it! I haven't been involved with such a bizarre incident before and I will definitely not be going to this McDonalds again. In fact, I would encourage others who have a fast food craving to drive past this McDonalds and go across the street to BK and enjoy a Whopper with cheese! read more

Worst McD's breakfast experience ever. Ordered 2 sausage and egg McMuffins, and an iced coffee. Iced coffee was fine... but the 2 sandwiches looked as though they were just thrown into the bag. Both wrappers were not even on the sandwiches, the eggs had slid off into the bottom of the bag, and the napkins were covered with grease, melted cheese and egg... unusable. While I don't expect gourmet food at McD's this was totally unacceptable. No wonder this store as such bad reviews online. read more

If you ever treat yourself to fast food, and you're in the Windham, Maine area, stick to one of the several other facilities within a stone's throw. The service at this McDonald's is terrible. They are very slow, and very inaccurate with orders. Example, my daughter enjoys hamburgers with pickles only. Easy concept, yes? Not for this location? Probably 80-85% of the time I have to hand it back, asking for it to be re-made. This morning the location was fairly busy. I was in line for roughly :10 minutes to order breakfast (a specific item). Got to the window at 10:25. Upon ordering was told "we stop serving breakfast at 10:30." Uh, yeah. First, it's 10:25. I know it's *close,* and we all like to do the whole "close, good enough thing" but it's weird how a phone and watch which both run on the world clock say...wait for it...10:25. After standing in line :10 minutes. Because the service was sooooooo fast. I don't eat fast food, but I have a daughter who does as an occasional treat (like today...no, wait, she didn't - because it was after 10:30). But if you do eat fast food, and you're in the lakes region, avoid McDonald's. Find a place with better, more consistent service which doesn't waste your time (or insult you). read more

I've usually had no problem with this McDonald's. The only issue I've had is the table and drink stations are a bit messy for long periods of time. Also have received food that is crushed and not following the Golden Arches standards. Obviously it's fast food so I shouldn't expect much. They recently renovated the store giving it a more snazzy and upscale feel. There is a small children's corner with touchscreen computers allowing them to play mini-games. Great place to go and grab a quick, cheap bite to eat. read more

Do not go there during listed hours and expect service. Drive thru is supposedly open at 4 am and it is lit up, but obviously employees were not ready to work because for ten minutes at 4:20 they refused to take order! It is bad business! PLEASE, DON'T LET THIS PLACE BE YOUR TEEN'S FIRST JOB! My daughter was ecstatic to get her first job ever, looking to gain experience in a faced paced environment, she begged be to begin working at the age of 14. She is a social butterfly! Her second day she was already working in the drive through taking orders and by her 3rd day she was working the first drive thru window taking money, she is a people person and she loved her job...however she had a manager, Rebecca, that bullied her every day that she and my daughter worked together, saying little comments under her breath to my daughter, accusing her of putting change that people didn't want down some "plastic tubing" on the side of the window, which my daughter was not doing, and could have been seen if they watched the video since there is a video in the back window area since you are working with money. This manager made my daughter go from LOVING her job to HATING it, finally one day after days and days for this manager, Rebecca bullying her, my daughter couldn't take the abuse anymore and walked out of the job crying hysterically and calling me, supposedly on her way out she accidentally bumped another manager, Kara, the one who hired her and that caused Kara to instantly FIRE my daughter. The sad part about this whole situation is that this manager, Rebecca should be reprimanded for her communication to her employees, clearly she doesn't have what it takes to be a manager where she feels the need to bully a 14 year old girl who was just so happy to come to work and work hard for her. This Rebecca was threatened by my daughter because my daughter was running circles around her, so in order for Rebecca to feel better about herself she needed to bully my daughter, very sad characteristics for a Manager. After I went above this manager, Rebecca and spoke to the General Manager, Don he proceeds to tell me that the reason my daughter got fired was because she had been on her cell phone while she was on the floor working (this was a lie) that the manager Rebecca and Kara concocted after they realized that their jobs may be in jeopardy, because we all know that if you where using your cell phone while on duty there is a warning protocol that is followed prior to being let go, which clearly was not followed for my daughter. My daughter was never on phone expect during breaks, for some reason this Rebecca had it out for my daughter from the beginning and that is really too bad, because she was a great worker and now her spirits have been crushed thanks to this manager bully, Rebecca. I would say if your child is looking for a their first job don't make the McDonalds in Windham a choice. I am not a big fast food eater and I don't normally go to McDonald's except here and there, but I will NEVER go to this McDonald's again for these reasons! read more
