Not the worst Chipotle experience I've had, but definitely disappointing on multiple fronts. My order was simple--Chips and Queso--but the execution was careless. The chips were stale and borderline inedible, and the queso tasted old, clumpy, and lacked flavor. To make matters worse, the bag was packed with zero attention to detail; the cheese container was literally tossed in upside down, creating a mess before I even opened it. The service matched the food: immature and lacking basic customer service training. The restaurant environment also felt unclean and neglected. With so many options nearby, this location needs to step up its game on freshness, cleanliness, and staff training. I expected better. read more

This is the first 1 star for Chipotle. I arrived at 4:46 pm today the line was significant and moved very slow. There were no orders being prepared when I came in either since all employees were prepping food for the line. Too bad though, when I got to the order station they started my order for two burritos but were unable to complete them since there were no beans. Either black or pinto. I was quoted 5-10 more minutes to get my burritos. I declined and walked out at 5:09. This location also has a history of making my online orders light despite paying for extra (an underweight I have complained to corporate about that) which is why I walk in when I can. read more

That wouldn't have been a problem, if they hadn't picked off the pieces of chicken and thrown it back into the chicken container, covered in bean juice. This location is usually pretty reliable, however getting ahold of them on the phone after an incorrect order is impossible. I don't understand why they don't answer the phone during business hours... I'd recommend to not online order from here, either, as they tend to not give nearly enough food for the price point (Especially in comparison to what you'd get ordering in-store). Food was standard. Parking lot can be a traffic jam duet to its size and complex design. Location is large. I felt bad for the young lady making my order, she seem to be the only one working, there were at least 5 other employees working. They were congregating on both ends of the order line for some reason. I don't believe this location gets super busy. The structure of the line up to the order station is quite short. Stop here probably once a week. The steak has become progressively over cooked and for some reason has a fish taste now. Don't know if il be back. Update: I believe I have figured out the fish taste and it's not fish at all. What I'm speculating is that they cook their steak immediately after the tofu or something similar. If I could give a zero star I would. On Saturday I ordered online. Pick-up time for 12:00 noon. We went to pick up and found the store closed with a note saying they would be open at 12:30. We don't live far so we went home and went back. Got there at 12:40. Still no sign of anyone. We tried calling. You can't get through to anyone inside. I didn't think i would have to say anything less than positive about Chipotle but the last two years the quality has gone down, Shakopee location is the only one thats better than Chaska location. This is a very large, clean Chipotle! I came here during a Friday lunch hour and it was very busy, but I still found plenty of places to sit! This place moves you through the line quickly, which is great for people in a rush but not the greatest for those who are a little more indecisive. If I could do a negative it would feel better. Horrible experience after ordering on-line only to pick it up and have the order completely mixed up and wrong. Then after calling I am given the excuse that there's new employees so errors are high... seriously? The resolution is for me to drive 20 minutes each way with my receipt in hand for a refund... they can take your credit card online but can't solve a bad experience but refunding automatically. Even after driving back and forth one would have thought they would have replaced the order at no cost for the trouble. The pinto beans lokked like they were 5 weeks old and reheated 20 times. I asked the girl working if that's the only pinto beans they had and she laughed and said yes. I actually started to laugh and said my God they look like they have been sitting there for 3 years. She just laughed again. The guac was literally brown, not green but BROWN. The lettuce must have been atleast 3+ days old as that too was turning brown. I cannot believe they would ever serve something like that to customers. We ordered for pickup this past Saturday, we ordered 4 of the burrito bowls. We had a 6:30 pickup time which was way off food was later than that. They got 3 bowls right and gave us someone else's bowl from a different order. To top that off the rice was way undercooked made my daughter sick, and her boyfriend only ate half his and threw it away. Mine was okay and the wife ate the bowl that they got wrong. We love Chipotle, but we will never visit this location again. We placed an online order at a quiet time, arriving 2 minutes after it was due. There was no one in line, but there were three other online order customers waiting. We were ignored, and then surprised when a walk-in arrived and ordered. We then waited while the workers continued to serve only walk ins. The to go line got longer. All of us had order times at least 5-10 minutes before the walk-ins arrived. We were still ignored until my husband reminded them of our order, they acknowledged him, started it, then set it down as another walk-in came in. Horrible. Worst Chipotle in the Twin Cities. Did an online order and got there a little after the designated pickup time. The ticket was still sitting on the counter and the girl who seemed to be in charge lazily moved it to the front and mumbled that it would be done soon. They then took care of several new walk-ins while I waited. After over 25 minutes, I asked if she could just refund my money, and she said she didn't know how. They then finally finished it. The garbage cans were all overflowing and there was garbage all over the floor. The tables were dirty and the place looked like a mess, and I'm certain would not remotely pass a health inspection. Food was mediocre even for a Chipotle. Restaurant was a disaster. There were no napkins or straws at the counter. The pop machine was out of ice. A customer asked for napkins and was given a stack of napkins and straws to load the counter themselves. Numerous customers asked about the ice, which was never filled... Hold the phone...42 minutes later ice was finally filled. Took the guy all of 10 seconds to do. Hopefully that didn't set them back to far on any other projects they were working on. read more

Management does not seem to care.the worst thing is they take way too many online orders that they can handle you restaurants full of online orders all the time during busy hours at least 8 to 10 people waiting for online orders at any given point and they can fill all the orders that are coming in so the restaurant atmosphere is very intense. Leaving one star for me is honestly a hard thing to do. Chipotle is my go to spot for lunch during the week. I usually eat there 2-3 times a week. It had been a year or so since I had been to the Shakopee location. I stopped in last week with a few friends before heading to the range and it was a terrible experience to say the least. As I was in line I was asked by three different employees if they could have free RedBull and one even was a prick enough to say "where is my redbull" (I drove an event vehicle to here) I had my younger cousins behind me and they did not even bother to take their order so I had to order for them. To top it off the food itself was no where near up to par. Both carnitas and lettuce where soaking wet as well as the salad dressing had a taste that was worth taking a trip to the trash can. This location is a joke. Total waste of your time!!! "Sometimes" they seem to have plenty of staff but the wait is excruciating! Been to other Chipotle's with long lines but they go fast! Management needs to get in check or something! People have figured out calling ahead is better to avoid the long wait- but only affects the people waiting in line because phone orders get priority. I've waited 10min before just for them to fill a phone order- a lot of angry people in these lines! The food isn't as good as other places too- mostly cold. We gave this place too many chances and now we've agreed WE ARE DONE here! Willing to drive 20min to the Burnsville location vs this one! Even choosing Qdoba over this location! Chipotle, why can't I quit you? Is it because you have ridiculously sumptuous burritos? Maybe. Is it because my kids can't get enough of your quesadillas and cilantro-lime rice? Possibly. Is it because I can get a fantastic, gut-bomb meal that takes me to a higher plane? Sure, why not. The truth is, there is a reason why the Chipotle chain has exploded in the past decade. The food is fresh, delicious and plentiful. First timers, go for the following combination: chicken burrito, black beans, rice, hot sauce (is there any other kind?) with plenty of cheese and lettuce (adding lettuce makes it healthy right?). The kids meals come with a darling little bag of chips and there are lots of psuedo-healthy drinks like Izze soda. My only complaint is they try to push their healthy image a little too hard considering a fully loaded burrito is pushing 1200 calories. But they are some of the best tasting calories you can get from a fast food joint. The people at this Shakopee location are generally pretty awesome. If I had a terminal illness I would eat here every single day. read more
