I usually get a bowl but have had their tortillas and they are much better than other restaurants. I always have to ask for more rice, but they always oblige and throw more in the bowl free of charge. They have a rewards system which is nice if you come here often enough. A simple menu prepared right everytime. What Chipotle wishes it was. The authenticity of preparing a fresh warm tortilla right before my eyes warms my SOUL everytime. From your favorite toppings and several proteins all prepared authentically you will love preparing your favorite style of burrito. Lastly, after attending once I learned that breakfast burritos were prepared on certain weekend days. Once I had that, I fell in love again. They really know how to keep the spice in this wonderful life together. Service is friendly and always welcoming. How quickly I'm in and out regardless of how long the line is has me not noticing the atmosphere much. Definitely wouldn't eat a burrito in the establishment, yet nothing particularly good or bad about the inside of the location. Quick, courteous workers and a good amount of fresh food for the price. Yes, please. Note: this isn't a great place to dine in, though there are a few small tables if you need to. Parking can be busy, but I've always been able to get a spot. They also have several spots that are 15 minutes or less for pickups. I went to Brito's with high hopes after hearing lots of hype. I ordered my go-to burrito al pastor as a benchmark, and found it to be pretty unremarkable. High points are their freshly made tortillas (in my case, made right in front of me), and the wide range of ingredients to customize your order with. It's also comparatively inexpensive, and service was friendly and efficient in a clean space. Unfortunately, I found the overall flavors to be restrained, especially the fairly small portion of meat. Overall Brito's is a serviceable option, but given the wealth of other Mexican places in the Twin Cities with more fearless flavors, I doubt I'll be back. read more

First time at Britos in Excelsior. I went in and ordered a to-go Burrito Bowl and chips/queso. Both were very good! The burrito bowl was made pretty much as is it at Chipolte or Qdoba. I had the brown rice, carnitas and cheese, black beans etc. It was very good! Chips and queso were good too, the queso the best part. Chips were fine, just not spectacular, like at some other places. The food is good! But like every other Brito's I've been to, they have no idea how to wrap a burrito properly. Eating here is like getting a haircut that's amazing for the first 95% of the experience and then a disaster at the end. The burritos end up a soggy mess with the ingredients all in pockets instead of evenly distributed. Brito's, please: wrap burritos like long tubes, not like round balls! Tuck the sides in just enough to close it, THEN flip and roll and tuck under the flap. I'm attaching photos of what burritos should look like and how to roll them. Place is fantastic, it's a strip mall no frill burrito and taco spot in St Louis Park border. You walk the line, they cook your tortilla fresh and then pick your toppings. Carne Asada and Carnitas were delicious and the toppings were what I would expect from a good Mexican eatery. I love Brito's! They are a great local joint. The tortillas are always freshly made and the ingredients are always fresh too. On this visit I got the chorizo breakfast burrito and it was yummy! It came with hashbrowns and I added on all the fixings. The prices here are so great for such a filling and tasty meal. The burritos usually give me two meals with how big there are, Brito's doesn't skrimp on fillings! I also love to add on a horchata to my meal - so good! read more

Ordered 2 burritos and a salad through Grub Hub. Delivery was early but the order wasn't right. The salad had no chicken - which was stated on the receipt and paid for. Hard to check your order when using food delivery but submitting the request for (partial) refund was quick through app. Maybe they'll get it right the next time we're visiting. read more

Cute little Mexican restaurant, resembling Chipotle. You can tell the workers are hard working, and keep their working area clean. We order bowls usually and they are very tasty with their yellow rice but I wish the portions were a bit bigger. Ordered via DoorDash today, my burrito arrived quickly. I also ordered the chips and guacamole. The burrito was huge, so a nice portion, but the flavor was remarkably bland. No zest at all, and most of the toppings were on one half, at the end of the burrito. First half I ate was just mouthfuls of rice and beans. I have about a third of it left but it's unlikely I'll bother finishing it. There are many better options in the area. read more

There's a certain pepper fast casual national chain that comes to mind when comparing the 2, but one of them is clearly a better option to pick up dinner. To start, the parking is plentiful at Texatonka, and there's seating available if you want to eat on site. When you enter the restaurant you see the options available to you before you order at the back. I always get the burrito, the fresh tortilla is a warm soft pillow that is made right in front of you; from the press to the griddle. All the other accoutrements are fabulous to select what goes inside. There's 3 rice choices: Mexican, White, and Brown. And if you're not adventurous to try carnitas or barbacoa, taco meat and chicken are available as well. Multiple salsas and then cilantro, onion, and lime combo if you want a standard taco topping. You're able to mix and match with quality. The food tastes clean, if you get where I'm going. A superior affordable fast casual option in Hopkins. read more

Wow, what a gem of a spot! We were starving after a late- night kickball game and Brito's was one of the few casual spots still open. My partner had been a few times before and loves it so I was excited to check it out! The FIRST thing I noticed as we walked in - 15 minutes before closing, no less - was the beaming smile on what seemed to be the manager's (or Brito himself?!) face. I felt bad coming in so late but he greeted us so warmly. My partner gave me fair warning that the portions are heavy despite the affordable prices, and he wasn't wrong. He got the biggest steak burrito I've ever laid eyes on, and my carnitas nachos were piled high! They provide plentiful toppings options - similar to Chipotle's lineup but with more and fresher options. We're talking fresh diced jalepeno, fresh cilantro, and fresh squeezed lime! For the Nachos I wished the queso was a bit thicker but everything else was spot on. There is a bit of indoor and outdoor seating but I'd guess most folks are taking out here like we did. For the price of what you'd pay at Chipotle, you can eat at Britos and get more, fresher quality food + memorable smiling service and support local! read more

My friend is an ultimate burrito lover, so he wanted to try this Britos burrito. I ordered a barbacoa burrito with fresh vegetables and guacamole. The Good: Everything was cooked nicely and was very fresh. The size of the burrito was basically when Chipotle first opened so it was busting to get open. Happened to be running an errand in the same strip mall and we needed lunch. We popped into this local version of a Chipotle-like place. The staff was very friendly and very quick making our tacos from scratch (including the tortillas themselves). For $6.50 you get two tacos with your choice of toppings. I got two with taco meat and my wife got two with chicken. Everything was very fresh and very good for a decent price. A perfect quick lunch! read more

I've wanted to try a burrito every time I've gotten my nails done next door and finally did yesterday! It's a small space with a few tables outside and a couple bar spots in the window if you want to dine in. Set up similar to chipotle in that you walk the line opposite the employee to select all your ingredients. I love that they make their tortillas to order with pre portioned dough they flatten in the tortilla machine and then briefly cook on the flat top. Love that flavor! They have both white and wheat options too which is nice. They offer the traditional proteins but love that they have tofu as an option and on the weekends they have breakfast burritos with eggs and either bacon or sausage! The medium salsa is good and next time I'd ask for an extra spoonful of it and get a side of the queso to dip! I found the ingredients higher quality than Chipotle and the price a better value. We actually found this place by accident because we were looking to do a lunch on a Sunday. When we walked in we talked to the owner and they said they've been open about 2 months at that point. We both got burritos with beans Maxi rice and all the toppings and they were amazing and huge. Fast forward a week later we got them again for lunch and they were awesome again. I finally saw this place for myself getting some tasty food to-go after enjoying numerous food deliveries. And just as observed by others it's like a well known chain only better. The Tex-Mex offerings seem brighter, fresher and more flavorful than one might expect elsewhere. They do have a few tables and chairs scattered about inside and outside seating on the patio is available whenever the weather cooperates. But I would venture to say that their business is overwhelmingly takeout or delivery. Still a winner IMHO. read more

You walk down to the start of the line and they have some screens up for ordering to show you your choices, but you're there for a burrito. The workers are busting their ass and are very friendly. Pretty reasonable prices, two sodas and two burritos comes in at $25, which these days is a decent deal. Why go be let down at Chipotle when this place rocks for less money? Service was super friendly during a dinner rush. They press the tortillas on demand, and from there it's a usual BYO burrito joint. But ingredients are all fresh from start to finish. My steak was a bit bland but fully cooked, chicken in my son's tacos was great though! Not very many tables to sit down, but they have a few for the kind of place it is in the Texas Tonka strip mall. Brito's is so very good. It is not much to look at from the outside, but inside... They are teaming with freshly made and grilled tortilla's, excellent ingredients, and the flavor's are amazing. I sometimes go out of my way to grab a burrito, taco's, or chips/guac/queso because it is worth it. They are also friendly and enjoy what they are doing and it can get crazy busy so the pressure builds up! But, when you see the tiny place and the quality of food they create..... Well worth it. Love this new local place! Their meat is seasoned well, I got the chicken, and I love their mexican rice. I've gotten the burrito and the bowl and would suggest the burrito over the bowl. Queso is really good, but not thrilled with the chips that seem to just be store boight- I prefer thinner with some lime. The set up is just like chipotle but with some more authentic options. They open at 10am which is great. They told me was the first customer. Unfortunately for me, I don't dress up during COVID, so look for pictures of me slobbing out. If you go to a first day opening, tip, dress up nice. You go straight back to the end of the serving line to enter your order. Giving an order through plexiglass with a mask on isn't easy but we got it done. The food was great and everyone was helpful and friendly. If you do a credit card, there isn't a prompt for a tip, so bring cash. I'm looking forward to coming back. read more
