    2 taco combo

Nice authentic Mexican spot in Crystal. The menu has a lot to choose from, but sadly the online order system is pretty awful. However, they took over order over the phone without issue. The food is good, not great but good. I think I would try again, everything was flavorful.

2 pork carnitas tacos with onion and cilantro

5 stars for freshness and flavor of food. Minus 1 star because they had missed our Grub Hub order so they didn't start making it until we got there. The service was very friendly. El Taco Riendo has 2 locations, one in NE (where we meant to order from) and one in Crystal (where we actually ordered from on Grubhub). I have been to the NE location many times and it's always excellent. I always get tacos. The carne asada and either carnitas or barbacoa. They are consistently loaded with excellently seasoned protein and whatever toppings you want. I go California-Mexican style every time and stick to onion, cilantro, and lime. Their house made salsas are very good. And have a kick which I love. The show stopper was the shrimp fajita meal. The car smelled amazing the whole drive home because of these bad boys. There were so many pieces of shrimp, we couldn't believe it. Came with pico de gallo salsa, lettuce, rice and beans, and tortillas. Easily could feed 2-3 people. These 2 locations keep my taco cravings at bay and taste a lot like home. Always fresh, very affordable.

I go for the chimichanga. I haven't had too much else from the menu, but when I want a chimichanga I know where I'm going! I got the barbacoa which was a good choice and the spicy guac was delish.

Way above average Mexican. A little better than the taco truck on 42nd avenue in the liquor store parking lot by the New Hope Bowl.

From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a diverse selection of dairy products, sodas, and snacks that you don't typically find all in one place. That variety directly stood out to me. Unlike many markets that focus on just one country, Loma Bonita offers a wide range of products from across Latin America, including El Salvador, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Mexico, Venezuela, Colombia, and more. One area for improvement is pricing clarity. In some sections, particularly dairy, labels can be difficult to match to specific items. That said, the staff at the checkout counter is willing to assist with price checks. As you move through the store, the selection just keeps getting better: fresh cuts of meat, frozen goods from around the world, and ready-to-eat hot meals. There's even a paletero (ice cream stand) tucked near the back by the produce section. The produce department stands out for its range, availability and affordability. It's great to find items like culantro, yellow (ripe) and green plantains, papaya, guava, mango, nance, yuca, and malanga, along with standard produce. Having all this fresh and reasonably priced is a big plus. What is the reward of visiting Loma Bonita? Their restaurant food! I almost always leave with a "Burrito de Asada" or "Huarache de Asada". Everything is made fresh to order, though they also offer convenient grab-and-go options like whole chicken and Mexican rice. On weekends, the menu expands with items like menudo and tacos dorados, making it more enticing to visit. There are multiple Loma Bonita locations in the Twin Cities, and while this one may be smaller, it's still packed with great finds. Pro tip: For homemade tacos, get their fresh, handmade corn tortillas. They're a game changer!

Taqueria LomaBonita is located in the back a grocery/bakery called Supermercado y Panaderia LomaBonita in Crystal. Firstly, the grocery store is amazing and features a huge selection of Mexican special items that you really can't find elsewhere, including a whole array of locally made tortillas, specially cut meats, tacos dorados, house made salsas, etc. In the back of the grocery store is this taco shop which sells a whole bunch of Mexican classics for between $5-15 depending on the item. I have tried about half the menu by now, and everything has been incredible. You have to get one of the many aguas (beverage) they have - my favorite is the sandia (watermelon), but they're all amazing. As for the food, my two favorite dishes so far have been the burrito and the enchiladas. Both are by far my favorite in the state, and the lengua is definitely the best meat choice I've tried. The staff are all extremely friendly, and serve you super quickly - the only potential downside is there may be a language barrier at times if you do not speak a little bit of Spanish. Just be ready to use Google translate should you need to. This taco shop is usually a little busy, but around the corner of it inside the grocery store, is a nice little seating area with very cute tables and colorful chairs. I highly recommend this place, it is one of my top 5 restaurants in Minnesota, and I come here almost weekly now.

The restaurant is cute with nice music playing in the background giving it an upbeat vibe. The food came out quickly was so so tasty. The cactus and cheese tacos were incredible! It is reliable place for good, sit-down Mexican/American food. The Golden Valley location is fairly large, and I've never had a problem getting a seat. It's attractively decorated, is comfortable, and I have found the service to be consistently good and accommodating. Personally, I am a big fan of their Fajitas, usually the chicken fajitas which comes on a sizzling plate, loaded with the usual chicken, onions, peppers, tomatoes, and sour cream. It comes with a side of Mexican rice and refried beans. My wife usually gets their very good street tacos. In addition, the chips and salsa, always included, is fresh and good. Like many restaurants these days, they charge extra to use a credit card, but you can avoid the charge by using a debit card or cash.

Longer version: This place is located in a strip mall that kind of looks run down. Do not let that stop you!! There is actually a really pretty park across the street if you do want to take your food to go. The inside was very clean and put together. There isn't much for decor but it felt like your standard "hole in the wall" twin cities hispanic restaurant. Parking is free. The service here was terrific!! I felt like I was honestly apart of a family! I was check in on multiple times! My server was very polite and friendly! Very enjoyable! The food: I got pupusas (cheese) and they were soooo good! The cheese pull on these were great! If you have never had them, it's kind of like if a corn bread pancake and a slab of mozzarella came together! You can get these stuffed with beans and meat as well! I also got the quesabirria tacos! Now I have been to tons of places in the twin cities for quesabirria tacos and dare I say these are some of the best in the twin cities!!! Oh my goodness!! Absolutely delicious! And the consume had good flavor as well! Packed with meat and cheese! The salsas were excellent and had a great heat to them! Their horchata was also very refreshing and I would definitely recommend that as well! This is a smaller business with a great menu, friendly service and decent portion/price ratio! Don't sleep on this place!
