If I could give zero stars, I would. This was the most chaotic, unsanitary, and unprofessional experience I've ever had at any Chipotle. I waited almost 20 minutes in a line that stretched out the door. There were more employees behind the counter than I've ever seen at this location, yet everything was chaotic and disorganized. Staff were rushing, visibly frustrated, and not communicating with customers. When I ordered half chicken and half pork, the pork they placed in my bowl had a white, congealed-looking substance sitting on top of it. The employee couldn't confidently explain what it was. That alone raised immediate food safety concerns, so I asked for it to be remade. Then things got worse. Once I got home, I discovered my Chipotle bag was completely soaked through and the bowl was leaking heavily, even though the lid was fully sealed. The liquid soaked into my car seat, onto my hand, and my kitchen counter. I posted photos so you can see exactly what I mean. The cashier listed on my receipt as Nathaneal walked away from the register multiple times with customers waiting, mis-stated my order, and seemed annoyed when corrected. When I asked for the manager's name, she hesitated before giving me "Jasmine." The only employee who showed professionalism was the woman working the middle station adding the sides. Between the unsafe food, the leaking packaging, the mess it caused in my car, the long wait, and the unprofessional staff behavior, this entire experience was unacceptable. I was in the mood for a kinda healthy meal. I arrived to a long line in the dining room. The wait was about 10 minutes before I made it to place my order. After making it to the cashier I had to wait an additional 5 minutes to get my order remade due to the cashier letting the customer ahead of me take my order. I shouldn't complain since this time there was fresh chicken instead of the last chicken left. The food was hot but the cashier was not the friendliest. Perhaps the management should be replaced if they can't adequately staff their stores with employees that value their customers to any sort of degree. I vowed never to eat at Chipotle again, you can read my review for the reasons why. Well, I wanted something different, so I decided to order it twice to see if they have improved since I wrote my last review. Once ordered at Homewood, IL last week and today at Matteson, IL. I figured two different locations, two different results. So how was it? Even worse than before and I now see why I no longer eat here! I ate at Homewood last week, and the staff was nice and place was semi-clean (they opened not long before I went). I ordered a steak burrito, with extra steak, lettuce, brown rice, sour cream, red hot sauce, and cheese. That and a side of chips and guacamole. I watched the girl put 6 pieces of small steak with the first spoon, and 5 with the second. The order was just shy of $25.00. My 10 minute ride home, the burrito was cold by the time I got a plate and started attempting to eat it. I warmed it for 30 seconds in the microwave, then tried again. Too much rice, not near enough steak (despite paying $6.00 for extra steak!), too much sour cream, and the size was about equal to a can of soda. The chips were stale, none of it tasted good. Today, ordered online and wanted to try Matteson. I get there, the big doors are locked and the side door is the only thing open (no explanation given for this, other than the workers likely not wanting more customers coming it.) I went up, told the girl who I was, and she informs me she does not have my name and "Am I sure I ordered in the right place?" Then just walks away from me, like I was bothering her and had no idea what I was doing. After standing there a few minutes with workers just standing around, another girl is on the phone and I wait until she finishes, magically my food was the one sitting there (right in front of the other girl!). I knew it was going to be ice cold by the time I got home, and I hate being right at times. I paid $25.00 exactly ($3.00 tip, rounded off for charity). I get home, the chips are stale (little better than Homewood ones, but far from good or fresh). The guacamole is nasty and has a bit of a sharp taste (similar to the Homewood ones). The burrito was a little shorter but a little fatter than the Homewood one, same ingredients. It was literally cold when I got home (7 minute drive), so I had to warm it in the microwave. It tasted not good at all, none of it did. They were roughly the same size and neither had a reasonable amount of meat, especially considering they charge an extra $6.00 for extra meat as of 08/2023! You deserve more meat without even having to pay extra to begin with! Chipotle is a huge ripoff, for 4 orders of this, I could eat at a good restaurant and pay less than this! The food was lousy, the steak is still barely there, and the portions are all literally mis-proportioned. They both tasted about the same and neither were good by any means. Or go eat at a Mexican restaurant, pay half to 1/3 the price, and eat better, get tons of meat, and way better taste! Staff was polite at Homewood location, as for Matteson,of the two girls I talked to, one was polite, the other was rude and seemed not to want to be bothered with me and my expensive food order! The fact she could not find my order right in front of her face is very telling of the level of service they offer you for a premium! I would not recommend eating at any Chipotle location, they have become a total ripoff (have been a long time no, now just worse than ever) and the food quality frankly sucks! With better staff, more reasonable prices, and more meat, it might be decent but what I ate in the last few years, last week, and today? I would not recommend it to anyone. read more

My son only have rice chicken cheese corn and lettuce on his bowl but then look on how few are the lettuce . Never going here again. I've been going to this location frequently, almost every week,, After getting my check to reward myself, I ordered me and my girlfriend food (2 bowls) we went there when it said it would be ready and we were in a rush to get home. When we got there we asked the lady at the register and we grabbed our food, and went on our way, when we got home we noticed there was only 1 bowl, they completely forgot about the other one. It's about a 25 minute drive from where we live. So we had to drive all the back just to wait 15 minutes to get the bowl because they didn't even make it. Btw it was all on one receipt, and they didn't put an appropriate amount of food in the bowl. I ate at the Matteson Illinois location on July 27, 2017 at 7pm, after receiving a buy 1 get one free coupon for a Burrito Bowl. For the past couple of years I have strongly avoided eating Chipotle because I've been sick with stomach aches multiple times. Plus I've found a ripped of finger nail in my bowl previously at this location! Yes I received a ripped off, dirty finger nail in my burrito bowl. I wanted to vomit after that! I called the manger, and they offered to replace the bowl. I avoided this place like the plague after that! ....But yesterday I attempted to eat there again. My mother and I ordered 2 burrito bowls and the workers were very skimpy with the ingredients!!!!!I had to demand more ingredients! As the young man prepared my bowl, I quickly saw him scoop something out of my bowl really quick, and he tossed it on the floor. "What was that"?, another customer and myself asked him with no reply! I discovered this after I drove home and ate my chicken. 3. BURNT CHICKEN -- The chicken was burnt and extremely overcooked. 4. SOGGY CHIPS -- The chips with the chips and salsa were soggy. Are you serious!?!? 5. INATTENTIVE STAFF -- A large group of employees remained in the back of the kitchen while patrons lined up for service. One of those employees burned the chicken. When I complained about the wait time to an employee, after being initially told of a 5-minute wait, I was offered a soda. That was not satisfactory. When I get home and put burnt chicken, crunchy rice, and soggy chips in my mouth, I realized that I wasted money and time! The manager and owners should be ashamed. Very salty. I order the quesadillas and there was a tablespoon of salt on my beans and extra salt under my corn and rice. The corn was cold. The manager said that is how it is. But, the corn in the display counter, when you order your food is not cold. Then I was compensated with a free entree from customer service. That was worth more than a free entree. I will not return. This place is the absolute WORST!! The workers are disgusting - half of them are wearing masks and the ones that are have their mask hanging off their face! They never give proper portions for their meals and have disgusting attitudes if you ask for more. Was here a few days ago right before close. I mentioned I wanted a side of guacamole but instead place it in my bowl I have a coupon. Once I checked out I had to pay for the guacamole since it was in the bowl and could not use my coupon. The store is literally closing in a few minutes I believe they could've displayed great customer service and just let it slide this one time. Instead they were very unprofessional and had an attitude at that, I asked for the shift manager and he refused to give me his name once I mentioned I was filing a formal complaint.
