1 star. Honestly one of the most frustrating customer service experiences I've had because of Tati and Mateo. I asked Tati for green Tabasco sauce and she told me to ask Mateo. So I went over to Mateo and asked him, and he told me to go ask Tati. I then asked him "you're Mateo right?" and he goes "no not me, go ask the front." So I go back to Tati and she says "I can't help you, it's him, he has to get it for you." I was literally sent back and forth between two employees over something as simple as a bottle of sauce. This location has a 2.5 stars rating as of this writing. And, I can't even understand how it is that high. I gave this location 3 chances before writing this review. So, they have it coming... My first two orders were via DoorDash; both were missing the protein, sauces, and guac (which is an upcharge). I tried calling the location both times to get the situation remedied. Both times no answer. The third attempt was tonight - in person to help assure accuracy - at 9:30.....a full hour and a half before closing. And this time they were out of steak and guac! WTAF?!?! How can you be out of the two most core ingredients an hour and a half before closing time? Also, the staff had no clue what they were doing. The line was tied up for over 5 minutes because a manager's code was needed for something at the register, and the manager was apparently "too busy" to help the line of customers who actually pay his salary. This place is a joke and I will never be giving it another chance. It is clear that they are making their money off of college students who don't know any better and it shows. I was in the area for work. We needed a quick lunch place with vegan options. Hadn't been to Chipotle for a while. What's the worst that could happen? Don't answer that! I got the sofritas bowl. It fed the need. Under similar circumstances, I would return. Honestly, one of the worst chipotles I've ever ever been to. I can't believe how dirty it is all the time and the workers get the worst proportions ever. Today I couldn't believe this and I'm writing a review because I asked if I could get a fourth because the container was empty and the worker responded asking me to put the forks out. All the workers seem really depressed and honestly kind of that they're working the job so much. All the tables are almost always dirty. Chipotle needs to do better with this location. read more

Final Verdict The cashier was the only person who didn't seem to actively hate being there. The rest of the line staff have the worst attitudes I've ever encountered in food service. Sorry to the cashier (I think her name is Amy) that had to void my transaction because she assumed I didn't want anything to drink. The total was on the screen as soon as I walked up to the register. But the nerve to complain to your manager that you had to void the transaction because I wanted a drink too (complete with you pointing at me) is the reason why I'll never be back to this location. The dining room was messy as well, with trash around the condiment table. I would suggest to go to a different Chipotle to get your Chipotle fix in. read more

First of all the service is absolutely the worst. The guy that was making my bowl was genuinely giving toddler portions. I'm not asking for extra nor am I expecting and overflowing bowl but it was insane. Genuinely the worst Chipotle I have ever been to in my life. They never have anything and are always so rude no matter what hour of the day you go. Today I went in at around 7:30 PM and attempted to order barbacoa, the staff claims they are out of it for the night despite being open for another 3 hours, and then when I say I'll just get chicken Al pastor they say they are done selling it, despite the giant sign behind them promoting it. The lady behind the counter just gives me a glassy stare and shrugs her shoulders and when I say how could you be out of barbacoa for the night already, just says, "I don't know". The city of La Jolla would be better off without this awful Chipotle. read more

Only because I was going to Trader Joe's today, and had not eaten all day, I ordered a carnival bowl and planned to eat here, as usual tables were dirty, and I was not given a tray, so planned to cover table with a napkin. Catering was ROUGH! I frequently set up catering in the La Jolla area and was excited to have the budget to order Chipotle. My order was about $950, online ordering was pretty simple, but getting a hold of someone from the actual store- impossible. There were no options for adjust any part of your order, which is ironic as Chipotles business is based on adding/subtracting ingredients. I got in touch first with a catering rep- when I asked if she could help edit my order- she said "do you want catering or not?" - appalled by her response, I said I just wanted to remove salsa from my catered burritos (as they would reheat soggy). She quickly "hung up" and left me on "hold" for about 12 minutes. 11 attempted phone calls, two customer service reps, one online chat later, there was no way to call the actual store. Final rep said "just drive over there and talk to a manager, they probably can't remove salsa and put on the side- but you can ask." Delivery about 5 minutes down the road was $20. Ike's in the same plaza charges $6. Needless to say- will not be ordering again. read more

Busy , busy parking lot and shopping center area . Went here after a movie for a bite to eat . They make it as you order it so wait time is minimal. Pretty simple ordering , you pick an item, add a protein ( if you want it ) , then toppings . The bowls they make are large enough to share . Burritos are quite large also. They also sell Mexican coke , which is nice to drink without all the corn syrup in your soda . Ambiance is very, very basic . Benches and chairs are not made for comfort , they are made for you to eat and go . Staff was friendly . I would visit this location again if I was in the area. Improper food handling!!!! I watched an employee make someone's bowl, operate the cash register, give someone a drink cup, throw away trash, and then start the next persons burrito WITHOUT changing her gloves. I stepped forward to ask, "do you change your gloves after handling the register?" And she said "yes". I informed her my entire group saw her not do so and she literally shrugged. While this was happening, someone from the back also was not changing her gloves while opening the refrigerator, throwing away trash, then going to handle food. We walked out. The guy, who said his name was Alexis (not sure if that's even true), walked into the kitchen screaming about how the Cowboys were beating the Packers -- like I came here to watch his little fanboy moment instead of getting decent service. Chipotle La Jolla / Del Mar - What Happened to This Place? It's honestly disappointing to see what Chipotle has become--especially at the La Jolla and Del Mar locations. Walking into either store, you're immediately greeted by a dirty, uncapped mess. Every table is filthy with food remnants, and there's nowhere clean to sit. You'd think someone would wipe them down occasionally, but apparently, that's too much to ask. The food prep area looks like a college dorm room kitchen after a party--messy, disorganized, and unsanitary. Not exactly the vibe you want when you're watching your food being made. The service? Horrible. The staff is mostly young and clearly not trained--or simply don't care--about basic customer service. They act like you're an inconvenience rather than a paying customer. Newsflash: customers keep the lights on and fund your paycheck. A little courtesy wouldn't hurt. To make things worse, the app doesn't work properly. Rewards can't be redeemed, even when you show proof like an email from Chipotle itself. And the staff won't honor them either. It's useless. And when you try contacting Chipotle support, you're met with a never-ending game of tag where nobody takes responsibility or offers a real solution. It's truly sad. Chipotle used to be a clean, dependable, and enjoyable place to eat. Now it feels neglected and run-down. If the brand wants to reclaim its reputation, it needs to clean house--literally--and retrain staff to respect the basics of hospitality. Until then, I'll be taking my business elsewhere. read more

not sure why people have had such a bad experience here. i was in and out within 5 mins! parking can be a bit tricky but there's plenty. my chicken bowl was stacked and the workers were all friendly. can't say that they were amazing, but they got the job done. inside is pretty spacious but didn't think much as i was just grabbing togo but don't get me wrong, i've had better chipotle elsewhere haha read more

No complaints. Have done mobile ordering from here for pickup. I like Chipotle because of the fresher ingredients and the ability to get a 'clean-ish' meal. I had various bowls with chicken and pork and guac and it was all delicious. Extra star and props for including utensils in the takeout. The plaza can definitely be a bit busier and that can be a frustrating experience, but I can't fault this Chipotle for being in a busy place! read more
