When I started going in September, the steak was perfect medium rare. As time went on, the steak kept getting more and more overcooked. I then asked specifically for medium rare steak since that is what their website advertises and is much healthier and tender than medium well or well done. Overcooked steak forms polyaromatic hydrocarbons and heterocyclic amines which are carcinogenic. The staff are very accommodating. When they see me walk in and don't have medium rare steak, they grill it on the spot for me. VIP treatment lol. Sometimes the steak comes out rare or slightly raw which is okay because the cows are grass fed from Australia. I always get double steak and the total comes out to be around $12 which is $1.50 cheaper in Ithaca than NYC. The only thing is I only got away with not paying for double steak twice here but in NYC they forget to charge me extra more often. Sometimes I would cough or say something to distract the workers from passing along the message that I got double steak. The only issue with Chipotle is the oil they use; it is very high in omega 6 fatty acids. I'd be happy if they use grass fed clarified butter (ghee) which has a much healthier ratio of omega 3 to omega 6 fats but unfortunately, many Americans still believe that saturated fats are linked to heart disease -_- read more

I love chipotle. I hate this location. I've been 10+ times cause I always crave it, and always hope it'll be better than last time. But it isn't. Meat is burnt, chips are soft, it's always a mess without any clear tables, and the line is long. Go somewhere else, this is the worst chipotle I've been too. read more

Wildly inefficient, as well as inconsiderate to the customers. After patiently waiting in a line which you can always expect to be long (which is fine), I would hope to be treated with an ounce of personal attention when finally getting to the front. A hectic and flustered staff managed to make us feel awkward and confused and failed to give us what we wanted. One worker tried to ask me if I wanted the same items as the stranger in line ahead of me, and then asked the man behind my boyfriend if he wanted the same thing as him, weirdly pairing us off with separate people we didn't know, confusing everyone, and not even listening to us when we tried to ask for what we wanted as individuals. My boyfriend got no vegetables at all, and I got a heaping mound of spicy salsa when I asked for only a small amount. She seemed annoyed and frustrated with everyone in line and in her attempt to be more efficient just screwed everything up. I ended up eating my meal in anger rather than enjoying the food. read more

This is the WORST chipotle that I have ever been to in my entire life. The employees are so rude, and they do not understand the meaning of hospitality. I alway feel as if I am not welcome when I order food from this place because the employees are SO MEAN. Also, the food is not up to company standards. I don't think they understand the "fast" part of this business as there's a line of about 20 people with just 2 workers making the food....while 4 others are floating around. I don't go to Chipotle often. I live 40 minutes from the Ithaca location, but since there are no other locations within 50 miles, I have no choice. I tried it for the first (and last) time this past weekend. I have attempted to stop a few other times in the past but the line is always out the door, so I figured it must be good. Bad assumption on my part! We came in at 2pm on a Sunday. The line was long, but not out the door, so we waited. In our 30 minutes in line, I think they filled about 50 online orders while serving 15 actual in-person customers. If you plan to eat here, ORDER ONLINE - they give those orders top priority! They were way understaffed from what I could tell. They were out of steak, forks, and ice when I visited. Actually, that's what they told me, but then I saw other people getting both steak and forks after I did, so they were actually just lying to me. I got extremely frustrated watching the army of food delivery people coming up to the register and collecting their multiple orders, sucking up one person's time completely. The other people spend 75% of their time filling online orders, blatantly ignoring those of us in line. When they finally waited on me, they then went back to filling online orders, ignoring my wife. When we told them we were together, they said, "we have to fill these orders because these people are already here waiting." Wait - WHAT? Aren't we here too? Never again will I set foot in this pit of mismanagement. I don't know how they stay in business. Oh, right - the food was excellent. read more

This location is guaranteed to be (1) losing repeat business due to abysmal customer experiences, as well as (2) rebuffing immeasurable potential new customers in an otherwise typically Chipotle-oriented-demographic college town. Routinely reviewers report flocking to various salad and soup chains in this same plaza when disappointed by understaffed/unfriendly service, poor upkeep, and long waits (40+ minutes). As a previously frequent customer at 8 other locations of yours, I have now familiarized myself with other typical experiences here and accordingly call into question the chain's commitment to holding its restaurants to a specific expectation and chain-wide standard. My 3rd visit features similar complaints to previous, seemingly par for the course for this location. Maintenance was disgraceful - overflowing trash receptacles with waste spilling over onto the floor, extremely dirty condition to tables, and overall unclean facility. Understaffed and unfriendly service is a mainstay along with an additional wait for chicken and white rice meals if they are served at all. Whether attributed to poor planning of schedules/duties or short-sighted priority of mobile orders (for apparently countless customers refusing to spend longer time in this restaurant than absolutely necessary), this inconsiderate pattern - over years worth of reviews - is shameful. I felt Chipotle is better than this and I will not support this or any other location(!!!) until real action is taken. If this remains true months to years from now as you read this review, it proves the chain does not care about its customers or reputation. read more

I would literally give this establishment zero stars if that was possible. This particular chipotle is gave me what is maybe the worst experience I have ever had trying to get food. I waited on the line for an hour and forty-five minutes, not because there were that many people in front of me but because they were out of so much food and placing so much priority on mobile orders. At first I was told we had to wait because they were out of all the meat. When I finally got to the front of the line, I was told they were completely out of rice and guac and I would have to wait another 30 mins for it. I was also told they were out of chips because someone had dropped all of the chips on the floor. After an hour and 45 minute wait, I was very upset that I could not get rice, which I consider an integral part of my chipotle meal. I would recommend that nobody go there and someone help the manager change the business model because until that happens your experience will be shit and absolutely not worth the wait. read more

This Chipotle was very good although I couldn't hear the servers over the loud music and because they seemed to be speaking very quietly. Also, the dining area is very "no frills" but the food is worth it. There are vegan options and it all seems relatively fresh. Tried Chipotle on a whim. Was actually headed for Panera Bread but at the last minute, decided to try Chipotle for the first time. It might have been my last time as well. Totally unimpressive! OK, it wasn't all bad...there was copious parking. Once inside, there were lines for the restroom, as well as the food. It was very noisy inside the restaurant. The decor appears to feature unfinished plywood, and not much interior seating. Upon ordering, I found an indifferent staff, and had to strain to hear what they were saying. The couldn't hear what I was saying either, but didn't strain to do so either, robitically throwing some of the ingredients that I had asked for onto a tortilla. In the end, it felt like Mel's Diner meets Taco Bell. My food was edible, but very unremarkable. We dined indoors, as the outdoor dining area sits between the building itself and a busy South Meadow Street. It won't be too long before a car (or cars) plow into the dining area. In the end, I'll pas on a second visit to Chipotle. There are too many other places nearby to get a quick, not-too-expensive meal...Five Guys, Panera, Chili's, etc., etc. read more

Although I have a dairy and soy allergy, Chipotle has always been a restaurant I can depend on to accommodate my allergies. Dabbling in lots of different Chipotle restaurants, this one in Ithaca has particulary given me a hard time over the past year. It seemed to be a giant hassle for the workers to change their gloves--I understand the line tends to be long, but another trip to the emergency room is not the ideal way to spend my afternoon. After explaining to the workers that I can't eat food that has been in contact with dairy or soy, they roll their eyes and passive aggressively get guacamole and salsa from the back. It took them fifteen minutes of me arguing with them to finally get a bowl that was decently safe for me. I love the food, but the service was incredibly rude. Food was ok, up to standard but staff made sure to make the experience bad. The line was really long as usual however it was due to one member of the staff that sassed customers. He sprinkled the cheese on my burrito in no hurry. After putting on two toppings he mentioned "is that it?" like he wanted me to go away and when I politely asked for sour cream muttered something in another language. He also folded my burrito like a scrunched up shirt and dumped a sad amount of guac on the side of the mountain of toppings. The cashier also rather rudely asked what was in my burrito. Well, the food was good, but that's about it. The service was mediocre at best. I took major offense to how the topping guy was conducting his business. First off, he sprinkled the cheese onto my burrito as if he was making a gourmet pizza, resulting in half the usual amount. When I asked for a bit more salsa, he filled up the spoon, dumped 90% of it out, and the remaining drop was placed on my burrito. The burrito ended up being about half as full as it usually is. On top of all this, the bag of chips was like 80% air, trash cans were overflowing, and the majority of tables were dirty. Love Chipotle, but this restaurant needs to step it up. read more

I ate at Chipotle's for the first time several weeks ago. If you had asked me prior, I would have said that I don't like Mexican food...I don't eat Mexican food. But Chipotle's has changed my mind. I dislike onions and explained that to the server. She was extremely knowledgeable about the selections and helped steer me towards choices that would suit me. I can't say enough how good the service was. I got a bowl with chicken on white rice. It was excellent! I could taste lime and cilantro in my rice and the chicken had nice spice...kick, but not too much :) If you've never ate there, I would recommend giving them a try :) read more

We haven't been in a long time because there is always a LONG line of college students. No line today so we stopped in. We are disappointed. The chicken is over spiced and very fatty. The servers are willy nilly about portions. One person gets a heaping spoonful, the next half a spoonful. There is no portion control. Not the friendliest but not rude either. 6 months ago we would have rated them a 3 or 4. Things have slipped downhill. read more
