If you're in downtown Ithaca on route 13 this actually might be a good stop in for a quick lunch. I found the staff friendly and accommodating. They have a good deal going now for a fajita plate for two including four meat selections. We decided to try all three (shrimp, chicken and beef) I suggest getting the extra beef. First time at a Chili's. Say what you will about chain restaurants, but Chili's delivered. The portions were gigantic that I literally gasped even when our drinks came out. The prices are downright patriotic. Great ol' 'Murica moment. For the sides, we got the chips and salsa (humungous!!) and clam chowder soup. My girlfriend opted for a burger, and I got that glorious loaded bowl chipotle bowl - all surprisingly solid. I've been going here for years and it's a good place to go to enjoy a family atmosphere or sit in the bar area and enjoy a beer with sports! Recently that is why I go, to enjoy the games with some food and drinks. The service is generally good but it is noticeable when they're short staffed. However, I have worked in customer service long enough to know this is not only an issue everywhere, but you can always tell when they're doing the best they can! I do sympathize when they get busy and have a hard time keeping up. That being said, whenever I sit in the bar area they bartenders check in frequently and are on top of it! Stopped in Chili's yesterday to get out of the heat, chat with a friend and relax with a margarita. Kudos to the bartender, a friendly and attentive young woman named Jaffa. She took our order immediately after we sat at the bar and kept up a nice banter without being overly intrusive. In Ithaca if you want a nice evening out and don't want to run into half the town this is the place to go. I met my friends Bill and Laurie here and we enjoyed a great meal and a couple of beverages. We sat in the bar area and had great service. Our first course was chips and salsa. Why do chip bowls always have either too many chips and not enough salsa or the opposite? Chips are thin and crispy. The salsa was flavorful. Way too much salt on the chips was my only complaint. My meal was their nachos with extra jalapeños and a small side of guacamole. For a dollar extra I guess I expected a lot more guacamole than what I received. A little frustrating especially since I didn't get the queso with spicy beef because I don't eat meat. The dish came with pico and sour cream on lettuce. Overall good especially once I added extra jalapeños to each individual nacho. I just love nachos. Our server was solid. Our waitress was great and offered the chips with salsa AND guacamole without an up-charge. We got extra chips at no charge and draft beer at a two-for-one. My sister ordered chili's from door dash tonight. We received the order and mine was wrong. They had put Buffalo crispers instead of honey chipotle with my triple dipper. We called to complain about the mix up and to have it rectified. The manager working accused us of lying saying they don't do Buffalo crispers and to take it up with DoorDash. He had an attitude and said he couldn't bother the other managers when we asked if we could pick up the honey chipotle crispers the next day. We did contact door dash and they gave a $5 credit which is fine. It's the attitude and accusations of the manager that are unacceptable. read more

However, I was disappointed in the shrimp tacos. They legit steamed the shrimp or got them from a bag, it didn't have a taste. another disappointment was the mac n cheese for the kids. I was in today on my own and got the chicken chipotle chicken crispers with the fries, corn on the cobb and sides of ranch. The food was out very quickly, hot and ready. The honey chipotle chicken crispers were sweet and spicy enough to know the chipotle was there but not enough to burn my mouth and make it hard to eat. I then had the skillet chocolate chip cookie with ice cream, it came out warm and gooey, easy to cut into with a spoon and a perfect compliment to the four small scoops of vanilla ice cream accompanying it. The service was amazing, my waitress checked in enough for me to feel like she knew my needs, but not enough to bother me. The music on the radio was a nice accompaniment to the meal. I hadn't been here in a while and decided to give it another try. We walked in for lunch and it wasn't too busy. At least half, if not more, of the tables were empty. We had to wait to be seated. We did not see any staff at all. Finally the host comes over and seats us. Our server comes over right after and got our drink and food order. Our drinks came out quickly and our food wasn't far behind. We got the $8 meal deal. Our appetizers were brought out by a different person and our meals were brought out right away by yet another person. For my appetizer, I got the chicken enchilada soup and it was delicious. For my meal, I got the chicken quesadilla and chips. The chips were delicious but the quesadilla was only okay. The "salsa" that came with it was mostly just tomato juice. I tried to flag down our server for almost 5 minutes just to ask for some sour cream. We had to call our server over from the other side of the room because she refused to come near our table. Then she rolled her eyes when we asked for sour cream and honey mustard. We had to ask more than once to add on a mini chocolate molten lava cake. That took quite some time to come out as well. When I was a kid this place was probably one of my favorite chain food restaurants to go. A lot has changed since then, for once my willingness to support local places instead of chain restaurants. I went on a Friday night and it was packed with people (especially families). Nevertheless, our wait was short (probably less than 5min). Lots of things have changed from the menu tu the point that it barely resembles what it was a long time ago. We got chips and salsa to share, which i complementary if you participate in their rewards program. For dinner, I settled for the quesadilla explosion salad and to my disappointment it wasn't that good. The seasoning wasn't well mixed and there was so much dressing that the lettuce got soggy. In addition, the quesadillas were overcooked to the point that they were crackers. I left thinking I should have ordered something else. Would I come back to this place? Probably, it still brings up good memories from my childhood. Nevertheless, chances are that the quesadilla explosion will not be in the picture. read more

Only two reviews? Shocking. Or very telling. In an act of desperation we went to Chili's over the weekend as the boy wanted a quesadilla. By the way, based on quesadillas alone, I'm sure the 9 year old would rate this dump a 5. For starters: Menus smeared with food. Disgusting. Our server, Lauren, couldn't have been less interested in serving us. Apparently she is allergic to eye contact. She seemed annoyed that we were ready to order when she brought our waters. We waited nearly 20 minutes for our appetizer, although she brought my husband's side salad. Isn't a side salad served WITH YOUR MEAL? AFTER the appetizer?? She never bothered to come over and tell us why it was taking so long. When the appetizer came, (potato skins) they were overflowing with too much melted cheese (I'm sure this would be a plus for someone but not me) and so hot we weren't able to eat them right away. Of course by then our meal came. Another thing to piss me off. Shrimp tacos were messy. They used to serve them in these cool little taco holders in order to keep them straight. These were slopped on a rectangular plate that was far too narrow and the tacos were soggy. Husband ordered the Bacon Avocado Chicken sandwich - can you believe he actually expected that there would BE avocado on this sandwich!? I mean - look at the picture I attached, how dare my husband expect to be served the same sandwich that they picture in the menu? You know, the one that actually is LOADED with avocado. As a side note, I totally eavesdropped on the table next to us. They got their food and the waiter was back at their table before they could even get the first forkful in asking if they wanted dessert or a takeout box. Seriously? Also, as we left he had dumped a tray of drinks on them with a flourish. I'm sick of this place. If you order online & then do a curtsied pickup - check the food given to you before you leave. Last week we ordered $25 Meal for Two - for one of the entrees(Chilli Mango) two of the side dishes were missing. For the other entree(Chicken Fatija) none of the condiments were provided i.e. guacamole, salsa, pico de callo, sour cream ... all missing. The dessert which Cookie Skillet the ice cream was given in a container with no lid. We only saw all the MISSING items after we got home (20 mins drive). I rang up the restaurant as soon as we got home placed on hold for 15 mins, hang up & called again spoke to manager but put on hold again. I've been a regular customer since I moved here in July of 2018. Tonight I ordered the same thing I always get the chicken tex mex bowl. I got it home and it was so spicey that I couldn't eat it at all. I always order this and was always very pleased but when I spoke to a manager tonight she told me the spices vary in heat and with the jalapeños, "it's the luck of the draw." Well, that didn't sit well with me so she's sending a $5 coupon for my next time . I checked my app and it still said I was second in line. I also saw three family leave while I was there . There table was cleaned but no one was seating them .
