Went here yesterday 08/08 at 5PM. There were no customers except me. The servers were just standing around. But the moment I got to the counter the lady server instead of serving food to me decided to make me wait and watch her clean and wipe the aluminum counter ever so slowly. I worked in customer service industry for a long time, She should have been doing the cleaning when the customers are not there and not make the customers wait and watch her do her cleaning. I left after being patient for 15 minutes, and went instead to Panera Bread where service was swift and efficient . These employees need to realize customers like me will never go back to a place wherein customer service sucks. And in the end their employment will be affected. This was the most disappointing Chipotle experience I've ever had. I was going to order the Sofritas but it looked like dry oatmeal that had been sitting around all day. I ordered chicken instead. When I got to the guacamole it was all brown and looked old and disgusting. I asked the server if he could get me some fresher guacamole. He replied with an attitude saying "it's fine we make it fresh everyday". I asked again and he still refused to get some fresher guacamole. I've never eaten at a chipotle that served brown guacamole it's always green. When you pay 2 dollars extra for guacamole it better be fresh. I called corporate to complain and they sent me 2 free meals and apologized for Hamdens poor food quality and poor customer service. I will never eat at this location again. read more

I recently started going to Chipotle. I mainly did not like to because it was too spicy for me - but then again, everything is. Hamden location - my only gripe is they always seem rushed (even when it's not busy) and my salad or rice bowl is a soggy mess because they don't take the time to strain the water from the tomato salsa. A young black female with short hair to her ears refused to give her name and was removed to the back physically moved by another young black woman after saying fuck you to me. I was standing in line for 15 minutes for a bag of food that wasnt complete and they couldn't recognize the name tim is short for Timothy. I was charged for large chips and queso and was told too bad were out any refunds have to go through corporate. After waiting and asking if someone was working on making my meal a customer said I saw a bag name Timothy. At this point the staff member blamed ME saying you didnt see it??? When the shelf is BEHIND THE COUNTER WITH YOUR STAFF. I wish to speak with Ali Jefferson the SM regarding this matter and will be in the store everyday until I am compensated and the girl that swore at me and had so much anger and threatening gestures she had to be PULLED to the back by your staff. The gentleman with longer hair possibly dreads apologize for her and gave me your card. This was horribly unprofessional and calling your location 4 times 8 to 9pm started with the phone ringing but by second call started to have busy tone as if they took the phone off the hook. I live nearby and will continue to reach out to the manager of this location and corporate daily as this behavior was simply unnecessary and unacceptable. The wait at this chipotle is absolutely abysmal. I placed an online order at 6:00 on a Friday for 6:40 pickup. As soon as I pulled into the parking lot i could see the crowd inside the chipotle. Stepping through those doors was like stepping through the gates of hell. There were 30-40 people inside waiting for ONLINE ORDERS they had placed for pickup. We got ours 30 minutes after the pickup time was scheduled, and when we left more people were coming in than going out. Don't worry though the food was great-PSYCH- it was cold and burned at the same time. I kid you not they burned the living sh*t out of my chicken, then somehow served it to me COLD in my burrito. Honestly scared I'm gonna be peeing out of my a$s tomorrow. I'll keep you updated. Don't get me wrong, I understand things can get busy. But this chipotle MESSED UP, like it was very very bad. Easily the worst Chipotle I've ever been to. And the very worst part is that it's the only one available in the Hamden/North Haven area. I've been here four times now and every visit has been a disappointment. Firstly, their chips have been ridiculously stale every single time. The line usually takes way too long to venture through, which I'm guessing is due to the slow and lacking service from the employees. I get the chicken bowl, and they consistently short me on chicken. One spoonful of the stuff doesn't justify the $8 price tag for a bowl these days. And the last time I went in (during the Sunday dinner hour) I was stuck with a new employee who, upon seeing that the available chicken for serving was virtually empty and required a fresh batch, scraped the bottom of it and plopped one measly spoonful of burnt bits on my rice. Seriously? I hated myself for not complaining because I'm too reserved to whine about food service, but it really warranted some questioning. Her superior even commented that she shouldn't do that "next time." Well, thanks for the stellar service. Overall I think this place could be made way better if given the right employees to get the job done. Horrible service. As someone who worked in customer service and management. They don't smile or greet at all. Didn't have chips or dressing for salads and some other items when they had more than 2 hrs left until closing. Asked the manager if he could whip some up and gave me a lame excuse, "It would take 20 minutes to pull from the back". I've been there before and a gentleman whipped it up in like 5 minutes. This was by far the worst restaurant experience I had ever been a part of. How does a Chipotle operate with no bowls, white rice, forks, and tap water? Out of sheer hunger I got a brown rice burrito, only to be repulsed by the blandness and hardness of the brown rice, and dry and hard to chew chicken. I got to this Chipotle at 2:30 PM on a Thursday and there were at least 7-8 people with the black shirts on behind the counter - I am assuming they were working. No white rice, no corn, no spoons, no lemons, and trash cans were entirely full. One of the employees was wiping down a table and she much threw the food waste from the table on the ground. To whoever the manager or the franchisee is, the staff is not doing their job or at minimum quite lackadaisical about it. McD's has better service & cleaner. read more

Although I've had good experiences at this location in the past, I was very disappointed with my visit today. The customer service provided was poor. On top of that, the guacamole was extremely salty!! I couldn't finish the small serving I was given, because it tasted like pure salt. I don't see how there is a manager on staff here. Employees are joking around, ignoring customers waiting, eating chips behind the line, running inside and out. I ordered online, that was late. Waited 15 minutes while I watched my ticket sitting on the counter. Of course, the guy finally told to do my ticket is the one with a mouth full of chips! Finally get home and my vegan choices are PORK! I have my receipt, it is correct. This store is like a child's daycare. You're online ordering is the only thing that works. When I first discovered Chipotle in Chicago years ago, I thought it was great. I don't know if I'm just over it or if it's just that I've gained significant high quality cheap burrito experience via food trucks etc. but I haven't been super impressed by this Chipotle. I was certainly excited when it first opened but between the lines, the inconsistent quality, and the strange topping proportions (ie. why is it that I'm only tasting sour cream?), I don't find myself wanting to go there all that often. I live less than 10 minutes away so this will be my go to mexican food place until it gets to the point of in-edibility. Moe's got nothing on Chipotles. Firstly, They are inconsistent. I get the carnita salad bowl all the time. My husband gets a barbacoa-bean burrito all the time. They either fill it to the point where they can't close the top (which I love for obvious reasons) and other times they hardly stick anything in it. I wish the employees can get trained to put the right amount in the product everytime so that everyone can be pleased. Secondly, they have some very rude people. The last time I was there, this employee made a passive-aggressive remark. Me: I know this might be weird but can I get white rice on my salad? Girl: yeah, sure, many people request that but I'm just don't no why you wont get a rice bowl then. Me: ?? Then another time they pass me through the line so quickly I can barely ask for specifics. This is the WORST Chipotle in CT. Do not go here if you expect great customer service and an actual CLEAN environment and GREAT FOOD! The staff act like you owe them something and they are rude. I came in around 930pm and there was ONE worker on the line, nice gentleman who prepared my meal and no cashier. There was another worker walking back and forth refilling the containers for about a good 5 minutes as I stood there awaiting a CASHIER. The worker finally went to the back and got the cashier who came to the front EATING AND ON HER PHONE! Are you kidding me??? Don't get me wrong I love Chipotle, but on the numerous occasions I have visited this specific Chipotle I have been extremely disappointed. Not only are there missing most of the offered ingredients, for example, the vegetables, but what they have out tastes terrible. I went today to get some for lunch after debating if I even wanted to visit this establishment and decided to go for it and shouldn't have. The staff was good, but hopefully part of their job is to make sure ingredients are present and fresh. This was a waste yet again of my money. Delicious burritos! Ingredients are always fresh and, if you're a vegetarian, the sofritas is delicious! Doesn't even taste like tofu! Very disappointed. I love the food and I order all the time, but last night I ordered and paid online as usual. Went I went to pick up my food, I was asked to pay again which I thought was strange. The place was busy and I didn't want to cause any trouble, I figured my online payment didn't go through. Today I checked my account and the payment did go through. I called and asked to speak with the person in charge. After being put on hold for 4 minutes I finally spoke with "Britney" who very reluctantly provided her name after I asked. I explained the situation and since I don't have my receipt from my 2nd cash payment from last night, she said she couldn't do anything about it. I said that she must have had too much $ in the register last night and she said no, the register was fine. Very poor in most categories. Long lines, slow service. I should have given up right then and there, but decided to stay. Lousy decision on my part. There seems to be a staffing problem. I like to see my food while it is being prepared and packed, and not be backed up in a line 5 people deep while the food advances toward the register and out of my sight. Plenty of staff to get you started, but they disappear toward the cashier end of the line. Extremely dirty establishment, floors sticky and stained, men's rest room particularly disgusting. Tables looked like they hadn't been wiped all day, crumbs, food scraps, food stains everywhere. Couldn't find a clean table, opted to sit outside. Somewhat less dirty, but still not good. No drink lids available, no ice in the soda machine, trash cans full to the brim, drink area unclean and probably unsanitary. Let's be frank, people are slobs. No getting around it, myself probably included. So knowing that, shouldn't you have enough staff in place to try to keep the place clean and sanitary? My meal wasn't bad at all, but it can't get by all the other stuff. I will not patronize this establishment again. Ever. read more

Worst customer service ever. They need training on how to assemble the food! I've always been a fan of Chipotle - recently moved to this area and decided to give this particular location a try as I was running errands in the same plaza and wanted to get a quick byte with my fiance. We both ordered the burritos and they were terrible. The employees there simply don't know how to put together burritos properly. I ordered steak, but quickly noticed that there were only a few steak "crumbs" left on the bottom of their steak bin, which looked that it was sitting there for a while. The guy still tried to make my burrito with it (even though I don't think there was enough for a portion) but I said no, so I got the shredded beef instead. That was good - however, they screwed up the rest. I asked for cheese, sour cream and guacamole. He slapped a spoon of sour cream and guac on there, and some cheese and then quickly wrapped it up. The result was that nothing was evenly spread so when I took the first two bytes out of my burrito - all I tasted was the sour cream, then the next two bytes was guac, and then I swear I had all the cheese in only one byte before I got to the rest of it. Also my fiance asked for light sour cream and the guy gave him as much of it as he gave me. I will not be returning to this location. We spent $27 that day on lunch and I am convinced that was a waste of money for such poor experience. It's been a while since I've been to Chipotle so I didn't realize they charge $2.10 extra for guacamole - when we came up to the register I thought it was way off, but does make sense if you have two burritos with guacamole. read more

Employees were too bust talking about cars while barely paying attention to my order and put the wrong meat/topping in my bowl 3 TIMES and rolled their eyes when i mentioned each mistake. We had the Hamden Chipotle cater a graduation party. They were soooo thorough. They called to confirm, then called to see how everything went. There was so much food. It also came with wire racks, to keep it warm, plates, utensils etc.. It was 100%. I totally recommend them. It was a big hit. read more

I like Chipotle, and this is a convenient location with ample parking. However, this store's food isn't always as fresh as what I expect for Chipotle. Also, they really under-portion what they put in the burritos and bowls here. Why skimp? It really doesn't effectively cost the store more money to put a little more rice, and a few more cubes of chicken or whatever in there, and in the end you'll have happier customers who return more regularly. The last time I was there, they barely put any meat on it, so I asked for some more. She then asked if I wanted double meat which costs [whatever that costs, I don't remember...]. I looked at it and said, "well, you barely put any on there, they usually put more." She then said "so you want double meat?" I found that slightly infuriating. They also always skimp on the cheese, even when making a quesadilla. A $5+ quesadilla should have a good amount of cheese...at least enough to hold it together and not just be burrito-on-burrito once it's folder over. read more
