Worst chipotle ever. I'm pretty sure the staff here are high on drugs. They won't stop giggling with each other. Not attentive to customers. Getting the orders wrong constantly. Dropping food. Tables and floors are sticky. Seriously, this place blows. Go to Moe's across the street. I personally don't like Moe's but would rather eat there than risk getting food poisoning. Very poor in most categories. Long lines, slow service. I should have given up right then and there, but decided to stay. Lousy decision on my part. There seems to be a staffing problem. I like to see my food while it is being prepared and packed, and not be backed up in a line 5 people deep while the food advances toward the register and out of my sight. Plenty of staff to get you started, but they disappear toward the cashier end of the line. Extremely dirty establishment, floors sticky and stained, men's rest room particularly disgusting. Tables looked like they hadn't been wiped all day, crumbs, food scraps, food stains everywhere. Couldn't find a clean table, opted to sit outside. Somewhat less dirty, but still not good. No drink lids available, no ice in the soda machine, trash cans full to the brim, drink area unclean and probably unsanitary. Let's be frank, people are slobs. No getting around it, myself probably included. So knowing that, shouldn't you have enough staff in place to try to keep the place clean and sanitary? My meal wasn't bad at all, but it can't get by all the other stuff. I will not patronize this establishment again. Ever. read more

Worst customer service ever. They need training on how to assemble the food! I've always been a fan of Chipotle - recently moved to this area and decided to give this particular location a try as I was running errands in the same plaza and wanted to get a quick byte with my fiance. We both ordered the burritos and they were terrible. The employees there simply don't know how to put together burritos properly. I ordered steak, but quickly noticed that there were only a few steak "crumbs" left on the bottom of their steak bin, which looked that it was sitting there for a while. The guy still tried to make my burrito with it (even though I don't think there was enough for a portion) but I said no, so I got the shredded beef instead. That was good - however, they screwed up the rest. I asked for cheese, sour cream and guacamole. He slapped a spoon of sour cream and guac on there, and some cheese and then quickly wrapped it up. The result was that nothing was evenly spread so when I took the first two bytes out of my burrito - all I tasted was the sour cream, then the next two bytes was guac, and then I swear I had all the cheese in only one byte before I got to the rest of it. Also my fiance asked for light sour cream and the guy gave him as much of it as he gave me. I will not be returning to this location. We spent $27 that day on lunch and I am convinced that was a waste of money for such poor experience. It's been a while since I've been to Chipotle so I didn't realize they charge $2.10 extra for guacamole - when we came up to the register I thought it was way off, but does make sense if you have two burritos with guacamole. read more

Ive gotten better service at a McDonalds in Harlem. Employees were too bust talking about cars while barely paying attention to my order and put the wrong meat/topping in my bowl 3 TIMES and rolled their eyes when i mentioned each mistake. Then as i sat down i noticed at least 4+ flies buzzing around the seating area. What an experience! Thats the last time i eat at any chipotle ever. Wish i could give this place 0 stars! read more

We had the Hamden Chipotle cater a graduation party. They were soooo thorough. They called to confirm, then called to see how everything went. There was so much food. It also came with wire racks, to keep it warm, plates, utensils etc.. It was 100%. I totally recommend them. It was a big hit. read more

I like Chipotle, and this is a convenient location with ample parking. However, this store's food isn't always as fresh as what I expect for Chipotle. Also, they really under-portion what they put in the burritos and bowls here. Why skimp? It really doesn't effectively cost the store more money to put a little more rice, and a few more cubes of chicken or whatever in there, and in the end you'll have happier customers who return more regularly. The last time I was there, they barely put any meat on it, so I asked for some more. She then asked if I wanted double meat which costs [whatever that costs, I don't remember...]. I looked at it and said, "well, you barely put any on there, they usually put more." She then said "so you want double meat?" I found that slightly infuriating. They also always skimp on the cheese, even when making a quesadilla. A $5+ quesadilla should have a good amount of cheese...at least enough to hold it together and not just be burrito-on-burrito once it's folder over. read more

I love Chipotle and especially this location. I'm a frequent flyer here and can vouch for the food and the service. The lines can be too long when Quinnipiac is in session, especially later in the evening so you have to know when to arrive and when it's better to order online. All in all this is by far the best fast food option to happen to Hamden. Ever. read more

I'm an athlete who's been going to chipotle for 7 years all across the country and I've seen chipotle at its best and at its worst. Hamden Chipotle is by far the worst. I use to go here at least twice a week. The service has never been great, but the hearty portions made up for that that's why I'd always come to Chipotle. Now they're under serving portions and the service just gets worse as time goes by. I would recommend finding another Chipotle to eat at if you are into quick and pleasant service with a filling burrito or bowl. read more

This particular Chipotle seems to have management issues. I live out of town but travel to the area regularly. Many times there are sudden service disruptions, and not just when a boat load I Quinnipiac students are in line. They run out of regular items, usually rice. I eat at chipotle around the country and have never seen a place with such regular problems. read more

Went to this Chipotle today. Unlike the one other review that has been written so far, I didn't have a bad experience. In fact, I would say that I had a pretty typical fast food experience -- clean enough, fast enough, not incredibly friendly but not rude or anything -- not super-memorable in any way. So given that I like the burritos at Chipotle in general and the service was adequate for my burrito needs, I'm going to say that's 4 stars out of 5 in my book. read more

Food is great here too bad the staff doesn't support it. Not all of the staff had poor customer service but the two making our food were terrible. I don't expect much from a fast food place for service but they outright offended me. I didn't mind that they messed up my order but when I found they just weren't listening and when you order something they act like you are bothering them and they rolled their eyes at me more than once and to the woman ahead of me whos order they also messed up more than once. It's just too bad and again I'm not saying I want 5star customer service at chipotle but they were down right rude and offensive. Won't be returning to this location. read more

Bummed to see these reviews because my experience was really good! The food was fresh and yummy too! There's a girl Lisa who works there and she went way beyond her duties with helping my 8 year old daughter navigate the fountain station. Also checked in on us to make to see if we needed anything else. Def will go back. read more

This chipotle is OK, I had to wait for chicken, and steak and I wasn't too happy about that. The cashier was very nice and apologized for the wait and even gave me a buy one get one free coupon on my next visit! I didn't get his name but he made the visit well worth it! read more

I'm crazy over Chipotle and this one makes me sad. There's something wrong with the way the food taste, it's like a bootleg Chipotle. Everything, even the cheese doesn't taste right. Also, the portions they give suck. For the amount you pay for a meal, there should be a lot more. read more

They made a perfect (and generous) burrito for me, chips weren't stale as they can sometimes be at other locations. Line went by a little slower than usual, but other than that, no complaints. read more

Wed. night, 5/25/16, about 9 pm. A long line, lots of big orders -- and a staff that moved with incredible efficiency, speed, and cheer! Bravo! Every person on the assembly line was quick and expert -- and amazingly friendly even though the stress must have been constant. My hat is off to them. I couldn't have done it. The wait time at the Hamden location always seems long and the employees look unhappy and don't smile. When it's your turn to order they rush you. I don't like feeling rushed when ordering my food. I know they are trying to be quick but they suck at it and their flow isn't working cause the line is out the door! Also, they're so sloppy when making the food. I guess they just need a better workflow / process. Also, please stop serving stale Tortilla chips that are super salty!! I hate when restaurants serve old food. Customers are paying full price and deserve food that's edible and fresh. Lastly, this location also needs better training on cleaning the food station area where the food is prepared. I didn't appreciate that the staff member there was cleaning around the food trays with a rag instead of removing the trays then cleaning. This location needs better management and well trained employees. read more
