Grand Opening set for Thursday 4/17/25

More national restaurant chains are moving into this neighborhood and Chipotlé is the latest. Being diagonally across from St John's University should help their sales a lot. This storefront has seen a bunch of different restaurants come and go, with a couple of pizza joints, Vietnamese pho and Dumpling Legend was the last one that closed a couple of years ago. Hopefully, Chipotle will be here to stay. I've been watching the construction and eagerly anticipating the grand opening. I've eaten at many Chipotles in the NY/NJ/CT tristate area and menus are standard across the board. You can get your standard burritos or bowls with your choice of protein (chicken, steak, barbacoa, carnitas & sofritas) with rice (white or brown), beans (black or pinto), grilled onions & peppers and topped with varying levels of spicy salsas (corn, tomato, red & green tomatillo), sour cream, shredded cheese & lettuce. For an additional charge, you can get queso cheese sauce and guacamole. As a side, you can get tortilla chips to go with guacamole also. At different times of the year, Chipotle will feature a special protein and the current special is honey chicken. This Chipotle is brand new with a freshly trained crew and everybody is all smiles. Just be aware that being in NYC, the prices are higher than other places, maybe based on minimum wage, higher rent or taxes. The same honey chicken burrito I bought from the suburban Mamaroneck store last week for $10.40, it is $12.40 here and with NYC sales tax, it is $13.50, a steep 20% price increase just based on geography. I still like my custom chicken burrito, so we'll probably still come, but maybe less often.

I didnt know this place just opened! I didnt see any reviews so I would like to make one. I got the barbaccoa, with cheese lettuce corn salsa and sour cream! The guy who served me was very nice! There isnt much parking besides for the street right in front. The place is really clean and the food looks fresh too. My total cost was 14.25 which is a little pricy but I like how its by other food places as well.

Raising Cane's keeps its concept incredibly simple, focusing almost entirely on chicken tenders,…read morefries, Texas toast, coleslaw, and its signature sauce. We walked into a bright, clean, and energetic space with a fast-paced atmosphere that reflects how popular the chain has become. Even with a line forming at the counter, the staff kept things moving efficiently, and the operation felt well organized considering the volume of customers coming through the door. The dining room has a casual, functional energy, the kind of place where the focus stays on getting a satisfying meal rather than lingering, and the open kitchen adds a layer of transparency to the process. We went with one of the tender combos, which is really the reason most people come here in the first place. The chicken tenders were juicy, freshly cooked, and had a crispy coating that held up well without feeling overly heavy. The coating had a good crunch that stayed intact through the meal, and the chicken itself was moist and tender throughout. The real standout, though, is the Cane's Sauce. It adds a tangy, peppery flavor that works perfectly with the chicken and honestly ties the entire meal together. Between the tenders, crinkle-cut fries, and Texas toast, it is a simple meal, but one that is executed consistently well. The toast is buttery and soft, and the fries are solid enough to hold their own alongside the main event. One thing we have noticed is that the chicken can occasionally feel a little greasy depending on the visit, especially if you are ordering a larger combo. For some people that may not be an issue at all, while others might find it sits a bit heavy afterward. That has varied from visit to visit, but it is worth mentioning because the meal is definitely on the richer side compared to some other fast food chicken options. The coleslaw provides a lighter contrast, though it is a fairly standard version of the side and does not stand out the way the chicken and sauce do. The staff during our visit were friendly and efficient, and the restaurant was well maintained. Food came out quickly, and despite the limited menu, there is something refreshing about a place that focuses on doing one thing rather than trying to offer dozens of different options. The simplicity of the menu makes the decision process easy, and the consistency of the meal across visits is a big part of the appeal. Raising Cane's delivers a satisfying chicken tender meal with quality chicken, a great signature sauce, and consistently solid sides. It may not be the lightest meal around, but when you are in the mood for crispy chicken tenders and a straightforward comfort-food combo, it is easy to see why so many people keep coming back. The meal is familiar, filling, and hits the right notes for what it sets out to do.

The chicken had a great crunch, stayed tender, and wasn't overcooked. The seasoning is so addicting and the mozzarella still had a nice cheese pull too. Forgot to take a photo. * Delivery arrived neat, not sloppy. * The food looked cared for and fresh. * Hit the spot for my fried chicken craving. * I don't live nearby, but if I did, I'd probably be here all the time. I've only ordered delivery, so I can't speak to dine-in.

None of the other fast food places like Wendy's or Popeyes would go above and beyond for their mistake. Very much appreciated. The tenders and sliders use the same chicken, but sliders come with some Coleslaw inside. I recommend the medium spice level. They use a nice rub that's not too spicy. I'm guessing there's also hint of sugar that makes it so good. I would probably choose tenders over sliders since the buns on sliders masks the tastiness of the chicken. Fries were crinkle fries. Solid 5/5. My daughter loved Dave's sauce, which is good because I was afraid it would be spicy. Overall, pleasantly surprised and will come back!
