Wish I could give this zero stars. I used to order from them at least once a week. A friend would pick it up for me. I would always get double chicken, but it wasn't double at all. Then one day I went myself to pick it up. The place was filthy. The tables were dirty,floor was sticky and disgusting. Garbage overflowing, and when I went to go get my order by the register, Two workers were talking to each other and were ignoring me. I stood there for a while and I had to say excuse me can I have my order? She looked annoyed. When I got home, again very little chicken the guacamole was off, and the sour cream was runny. This location is always busy. I've had several instances where I have ordered ahead on the app and I've gone to pick it up and they said my order was already picked up. Placed an order again to pick up with a half hour notice of when I would be in the area. The app never updated the order to say in progress. I arrived at the store, and I noticed there was no food bags on the shelves where you would normally pick up your food. So I'm just standing there for a good 10-15 minutes, still my app doesn't update or say my order was started. Finally someone asks me what the name is and they grabbed the food from behind the register and handed it to me. I used the app and ordered ahead. I really like how the app shows the progress of the order. My order wasn't ready at the time it was supposed to be but I did need in about 5 minutes later and got a message it was ready. However, once I went to the shelf it wasn't there so I did end up having to wait even longer to ask the staff where it was and they got it from the back. This has to be the worst Chipotle location in America, I challenge someone to find a worse one. I sadly order from here a lot because it's the closest one to me, and every time I order I think to myself, "this is going to be the time that they don't mess up my order". They still find a way to mess it up every single time. It's actually impressive that the odds are on their side to get at least one order right and they can't do it. I decided to go in store today because how could they mess it up if I'm physically there? If their corporate ever reads this, they should be aware that this location has to be the absolute worst Chipotle in probably a 30-mile radius, and I've happily been to quite a bit. First and foremost, you need more Chipotle restaurants in our area. There's only this one Freehold, NJ location, so basically many nearby towns are a captive audience to this atrocity. While the place can get mediocre at best, every visit seems like they have an ongoing contest to see if they could do worse than yesterday. In previous visits, they have served undercooked rice, their fryer was broken, so no tortilla chips, they are regularly out of fajita vegetables before 6PM, and the register/point-of-sale machine kept crashing. So, they manage to run out of ingredients way before dinner time, but there is no way in hell it's because the staff is so generous with the portions. It's just that they don't prepare for what should be expected for any given day. In fact, this location staffs the stingiest people that barely add enough, or remove when they think they've put too much, then have the nerve to say that would charge for 'double meat.' Ordered vegan chorizo bowls for delivery my brother and I on the Chipotle App. In case you didn't know, they do upcharge $2 on menu items on the app if you are ordering delivery, but there is no transparency on what these fees are used toward. The delivery itself was quick and on time. The chorizo had a good texture and taste, but was quite salty. The food itself was good, but this location was out of white rice and lettuce, and I found a piece of plastic in my food which was unfortunate. First thing I need to say about this Chipotle location is that the food is very fresh and tasty. And if you're hungry you can ask them to double the chicken or double the meat and add more toppings like cheese or guacamole or sour cream and so on. As long as you watch the food preparer's and make sure you're getting enough food, you will definitely get a good portion and be full when you leave. Now here's the reason for the three stars. The layout of this location is anything but comfortable. The tables to sit at are all packed together in a small space. They actually have a long table right next to the line that forms for food. I have no idea how people can eat there with people in line staring at them 2 feet away. What few tables they have in a okay spot away from the line usually have squatters sitting there saving them for people that just got in line. It's not uncommon for us to have to sit at an oddly shaped communal table with strangers in order to eat the food. You may just want to take your food home and eat it there. The food preparer's are young but they try to do a good job and it's up to you to watch them to make sure they're giving you enough food in your salad bowl or burrito. The takeaways for this place is that the food is fresh and delicious and consistent but the amount of space to sit and dine in is very cramped and perhaps the worst dining layout I have ever seen in a restaurant. read more
