Take home goodies. The fruit that I dipped at the chocolate tempering class.
    Amanda J.

Attended the chocolate tempering class and dipping of summer fruit purchased on Groupon. Which was a really smart move on their part because I didn't even know this place was there. I went with 3 other friends and enjoyed a basic class on chocolate tempering, yep the good stuff, not the "melting chocolate" i.e. chocolate flavored candy, (think Chocolate Duck in Farmingdale). Only wish the stuff we dipped in later in the class was the good stuff. But alas I learned in class that the good stuff would not be good for a teaching class as it takes time; both slowly to melt it and quickly to form it and that does not lend well to first timers. The shop is a chocolate heaven- caramel covered in dark chocolate with salt, huge peanut butter cups, dipped pretzels and COOKIES. I recommend the class and the store. They even have a chocolate tempering kit to make goodies at home!!!

It's easy to fall in love with this Huntington bakery at first sight. Their displays are drool worthy and the selection is quite impressive. So you buy a bunch of pastries, chocolates and confections. After the first bite, that's when your taste buds say, "oh... um, where's the flavor?" Everything from the brownie bites, lemon cookies and rainbow cookies were virtually flavorless and a bit stale. It's a shame because it's a nice place. The staff is helpful and friendly and prices aren't too bad but the product is just not that good at all. Not recommended.

So much to love. Fresh chipwich!

Rocked a homemade chipwich on Sat and got stuck with some hard cookies for the shell. Tip...maybe ask for soft cooks or don't head in there 5 min before they close. The softness of the cookie really does make the sandwich. A crunchy chipwich isn't worth the $6.50 price tag in my eyes. Had to grab a massive dark chocolate peanut butter cup as well. Always a crowd pleaser.

I literally bought one mini baguette, took a bite outside the store and walked right back in for 4 more. It is THAT good. The texture and flavor was simply perfect, and having to warmed with a schemer cutter was heavenly. Now it's important to note that I live at least 30 minutes away, and returned 3x since my first visit to try their breads. TBH, it doesn't even matter what you get! They are ALL the BEST versions of whatever bread it is! I literally walked out today with 6 loaves of bread and as a carb-a-holic, I am here to confirm that Duck Island has THE BEST bread in NY. PS I am literally gnawing on a piece of sesame something (looks like a branch of leaves - so pretty) as I'm typing this. Just amazing!

Not only did these set me back $9 total, but were annoying to eat and not worth the cost at all. The minimal chocolate filling had sunken to the bottom and completely fused to the wrappers, and the muffins were very dry inside, not soft and fudgey like chocolate babka should be. Everything they have looks and sounds incredible, but the two muffins I got were very overpriced and not nearly good enough to be worth it. Additionally, the parking situation is a nightmare, with people parking in spots that don't exist in a lot that's already way too tight.

And the ice cream I got had a good chocolate taste to it, even with the novelty of nitrogen. The sipping chocolate however? God tier. Supreme. Its so luxurious and at the same time, not too sweet! You get this wonderfully bitter chocolate taste that's not overwhelming but still manages to warm your insides. Get it with a torched marshmallow ring and it rivals any sipping chocolate you can get in the city. Overall, well worth a visit in the winter (yes, its true!), if not for the ice cream, than for the sipping chocolate!

I had the matcha green tea flavored ice-cream on a waffle cone topped with a Stroopwafel cookie. I thought it was excellent and tasted great. It was a memorable experience, but an expensive one; two ice creams cost $25, which is pricey, but understandable given the process it takes to make the ice-cream.

The elegance is nice. Service (4/5): Understanding that the restaurant was extremely busy this day, we did not get the best service. They forgot to give us the table bread which we had to ask for after our appetizers came. They knew we were sharing everything so it was nice that they had pre-sliced everything and provided us sharing plates during the meal. Food (4/5): This is review is specific for their Mother's Day fixed prix menu ($125/pp which btw is $115 for Father's day 2026). Sad to say overall, the price point was not worth the food we received, as it was way overpriced. Potato bread (6/5): This is one of the best table bread I've ever had--the softness and flavors are so good that I would sacrifice stomach space for 5 servings of this! Use the leftover butter for your steaks! Blue Point Oysters (5/5): Super fresh! Delicious Lobster shrimp wontons (4/5): Wonderful presentation just okay on flavor. Lukewarm upon serving. Red Roof Roll (4/5): The portion of fish was pretty generous! Tasted fresh as well. They were out of the 38oz porterhouse for 2 by 7p. New York Strip Steak (4/5): Cooked as requested, however not enough fat to make it melt in your mouth as the cuts were a bit too tough. The dry aged taste was great. Filet Mignon (4/5): I don't think this piece was as good as I remember. It needed their house steak sauce to give the dish any flavor. Pork Tenderloin with Carrot Puree sauce (2/5): Each piece was tough, not much flavor to it, carrot sauce did not give it any more flavor. Scottish Salmon (5/5): This was my favorite dish of the 4; it was juicy and had lots of flavor to the butter sauce. Crème Brule and cheesecake were wonderful. The carrot cake was dry and half of it was leftover.

Went to dinner expecting great things but what we got was just mediocre…read more The menu looked amazing and it was hard to decide, we got 2 appetizers and a salad to share. We got the butternut squash which sounded very fancy on the menu but was just butternut squash with a piece of fried prosciutto stuck in each portion on top of cacio e pepe sauce which by the way was broken. We also got what we thought was going to be artichokes on a bed of arugula but was mostly arugula with a few small pieces of artichoke and some pistachios. It was bland, definitely needed some vinegar or lemon or something. Not worth the price, I could have thrown that together myself at home. We also had the spinach/pear salad. Again, I could have made that at home. I got the lemon shrimp linguine. I liked the pasta, I liked the sauce, I did not like the shrimp that came with it. They were tiny and maybe boiled, just not great. We also had the ravioli. One big extremely dense ravioli, raviolo or whatever a singular one is technically called. It was ok but so dense and rich. We also had the bolognese. Not the best. For the prices we paid we expected greatness. We each had dessert. So for the 3 of us the bill came to almost $300 with tip. I personally felt like the service did not warrant the tip but we left it anyway. We weren't checked on, we had to wait a long time to get the bill and we paid by phone app. The service wasn't great. I think the best part of the entire night was the little bucket of candy that we got with the check. The gummy butterfly was delicious! No, we won't be back.
