We visited Chocolate Works again after having a great experience using this location for our camp in the past, and it was just as enjoyable this time around! We did an individual activity where we dipped chocolate and made candy shish kebab sticks--such a fun and creative experience. Mysha was so nice and personable. She was incredibly patient and made the experience truly awesome for both the kids and adults. Her positive energy really stood out and added to the fun. While the owner was a bit less personable, my daughter still had a great time and couldn't stop talking about how much she enjoyed the chocolate-making. The shop is clean, well-stocked with treats, and a great place for a fun outing or special occasion. We'll definitely be back! read more

The service was outstanding! Mysha was excellent. She was great with the service. She was very friendly nice and polite. My daughter made chocolate covered strawberries and Oreos and she was super helpful and friendly. It was like she was a big sister. I thought she was the owner as well organized she was and helpful. Super nice and genuine.. I can't say enough about her and the service she provided to my daughter! She asked if she was enjoying her summer about dance gymnastics and so on. Re-visited to grab some high end chocolates. Not so happy. The staff were nice but seemed to not know the products well. She told me it was under new ownership (again!) The selection was a bit different with definitely less options than before. The overall vibe was a bit drab. It didn't seem to have that excitement and smell and energy that originally made me give it a 5 star. I was disappointed. Most likely won't return for a bit. I went into store, I asked woman behind counter about the chocolates and items all the way tin the back.she said fill a bag and bring it up. I took 1/4 lb of chocolate covered fruits raisins and cranberries. It noted 16.99 a lb. She charged me 20. Per lb.with tax and credit card =5.90. I brought her back and showed her the signs. She insisted it chocolate at 20.00 a lb. I left it and reaccredited my card. She said in a form of rebuttal that these were candies that they buy and bring in. So? She then said that she didn't know about the money. I ask her how long she'd been working there- since last year! Nothing like bate and switch! We took our 3 year old son here to have some fun and make his own chocolate bar. Veronica was the one helping us and guiding our son throughout the whole process. She was very very nice, patient, interactive and genuinely cared that my son was having a good time. We were really glad we brought our son to this location, they were super friendly and he had a very good time making his bar and sampling his candy. He also made chocolate dipped pretzel and marshmallow. It's unfortunate that a few Chocolate Works locations have closed (although I have been to some with staff that weren't even close to how pleasant the Plainview staff was). So I hope this location stays open because they are really helpful and friendly. They also have huge party rooms in the basement. read more

I was at the store a while back. I got my partner a night at Oheka Castle on her birthday, and I wanted to have a small "sumpin sumpin" waiting in the room when we got there. The day before her birthday, I called Oheka for a recommendation, and they sent me here. A wise choice. The store was bright, clean, and well laid out. Everyone was very friendly, and the store has such a huge selection... I got a few things for myself, but primarily for her. I tried the sea salt caramel, the pecan caramel, they even had a chocolate covered oreo. They also had a chocolate covered orange peel. Sooo delicious. I got her a couple of caramels, but primarily got her the truffles. They have a very large selection. The red velvet truffle is out of this world. I don't drink, and I didn't want her to feel "obligated" to share her birthday chocolates with me, so I got her a mix of both non-alcohol and alcohol filled truffles, and had them put them all in one box so we wouldn't know which was which. Problem solved. They put the chocolates in a pretty little box, and even tied a pink ribbon onto it. She absolutely loved them. She said they were delicious. They are just a little bit on the high end price wise, but I didn't mind at all. I live in California, and I buy See's chocolates all the time. If you want a quality product, you can expect to pay a bit more. Thanks for a great gift!!! read more

Just had a Bachelorette Party at Chocolate Works in Plainview. It was the perfect place for a bride to be that doesn't drink alcohol and isn't into a racy Bachelorette celebration. The staff did a wonderful job decorating,and the tablecloths were beautiful. They assisted us throughout the Decorate a Chocolate Mold activity and chocolate dipping. They had pretzels, strawberries, marshmallows, and bananas for us to dip in chocolate and decorate with sprinkles/other toppings. We brought drinks and appetizers. They even set up the stemless wine glasses and drink markers I brought after I dropped off some supplies and ran home for the food and drinks. They projected a personalized image on the walls, it was a nice touch, and they supplied balloons. Even though I told Sue (the owner), I had bought some. The girls assisting us even wrote down cute questions for the bride to be to ask everyone. I would highly recommend Chocolate Works in Plainview for an adult party or girls' night. Popped into the new Choco Works in the 'hood to see what was happening and come home with a box of goodies. Success! There's a fairly large selection of items smothered in milk and dark chocolate. I believe I took home a few dark choco covered Oreos, peanut butter cups, pretzels, salted caramels, and graham crackers (don't judge). All were promptly eaten by my fam without complaint. Pretty sure I filled up an entire small box with these and it came out to $20. Not bad. They have a wall of non-choco goods too, in case you're having a gummy bear or sour candy kick. There's a whole lot of room in the back, which seems perfect for kids bday's and stuff along those lines. Overall, a nice little shop to have in the area for some upgraded chocolate treats. I dunno. I'll have to come back to fairly assess this place. But at first glance, there's not much here. There's a lot of unused space, which I wonder if they'll add to. The chocolate and candy displays have plenty, but nothing that stands out more than similar places. I got two small emoji chocolates and one peanut butter dark chocolate ball. Almost six dollars. In fairness, large ball was pretty heavy, so I wasn't shocked at the price considering the items are all between $20-$25 per pound. The emoji cookie dough things were bought for my daughters. They both disliked them, and I hated them. A new experience for me for a chocolate cookie dough item. The item I got was ok but not great. It was a bit much. Staff was nice in minimal interaction. It has what you would expect so that's good but I certainly wasn't impressed. read more

Cute store but recently had a bad experience here. I came in with three kids who were so excited to check out the shop and the older blonde woman who works here was following them around, giving them mean looks, and telling them not to touch anything - and they were very well behaved! We ended up filling a bag with some chocolates and gummies and they did not taste fresh. I miss the store in Manhasset where they were always friendly and welcoming. Super disappointed to deal with this rude person and would not go back! read more

When we found out there would be a new chocolate works opening in our neighborhood we were very excited. The few items that stood out as being delicious included the milk chocolate pieces, the assortment of jelly beans, rainbow-covered chocolate pretzels and last but not least the chocolate water fountain. Went there to pick up signature truffles for New Years Eve. The two girls that worked there told me to keep them in the freezer at all times. This is not the correct serving method. For serving, as per google, they should be room temperature. For storing for long periods of time, a freezer is fine. You would think that you would know about the product you are selling. The truffles did taste really good when they were served properly. Staff needs training desperately. read more
