I have been seeing Swedish candy all over my TikTok FYP for months now, and have been really wanting to try it. This spot came up on my feed. So I yelped it, got the directions and went. It's in a busy shopping center but the parking was fine by the stores location. The shop is adorable. It offers all kinds of gifty things, some sports stuff, things for when the kids go to camp, some stationary and all sorts of chocolate candies and sweets. The customer service is more than expected. The selection of Swedish candy is astounding! So many to choose from. The owner assisted me in choosing the candies and what great choices! I chose some sweet and some sour and he put them in separate bags for me. He offered me a couple of tastings and I was sold! I cannot wait to go back there not only for the candy but for the gift ideas as well. read more

The Sweet Spot Shoppe in Plainview NY off Manetto Hill Road, does sell chocolate covered orange peels mat 29 dollars a lb. They are fresh though really expensive. Their receipt only shows the cost not breakdown of items. It also notes No Returns All Sales Final. For individual candy i could see that. Though they have many other items and I' am surprised to see this. They have egg shaped chocolate lollipops 4 dollars each. To expensive to buy in quantity. A rack near the window of a mishmash of cards are available for sale. I was directed to go to the nearby pharmacy and indeed found cards that I had been looking for. Shame on me. I knew better than to shop here but I did anyway. My daughter's camp decided we could ship a care package. I only had 1 day to mail it before I left for a trip so I ran into Sweet Spot. I was preoccupied with a work call and didn't pay attention when I was checking out. Handed my card over and paid. They put the receipt in the bag and I went back to work. When I looked at the receipt it wasn't itemized. It was over $70. I added up everything with price tags and it came to about $35. The unmarked items were small pieces of Candy. Not $40 worth. I called the store and asked for an itemized receipt. They don't give them. The owner said he would check and get back to me but he was sure it was right. Never heard from him. Bad business. I felt bad for them when Sugar Crazy opened near them but I don't now. Go to Sugar Crazy. It's bigger, waaaaaay more stuff, better prices and the owner isn't nasty. Sweetie's Candy Cottage had way better prices too and they're super nice. read more

Decided to see what other candy stores were in the area. Needed candy for a birthday gift. The only other candy store anywhere around is Basketworks in Syosset, But there prices are about 30.00 a pound. I was very disappointed when I walked in to the store. The store had more gift items than candy or chocolate. What kind of a sweets shop is that. The amount of variations of chocolate available was terrible. The staff were very friendly and willing to help, But unfortunately there was no selection worth buying. They get 5 stars for being friendly and helpful, But only 2 stars for selection. I will definitely be going back to Basketworks as there selection is amazing and candy delicious. read more

Disappointed, upset and will no longer be a customer. I ordered camp gifts in May to be delivered at least 10 days before camp and they never left the store. When I called to see where they were, I was told they were "out for delivery" with apologies. Truth be told: they were never shipped nor received. In life: it's not what we do but how we do it. The customer service and staff are some of rudest employees of an over priced candy store. I ordered a Valentine's Day gift to be shipped in late January. Not only did they never received the package but when I called, they told me it was lost. When calling asking for a refund they refused and told me there is nothing they can do. I don't always run home to write a review, but I did this time. My daughter is getting married this weekend and I am in a panic. Anyway let me breath I walked in to the store having remembered twenty years ago getting gifts for my kids there. Four young women all welcomed me and it was like being on another planet. They all came up with great suggestions for in room goody bags and then made them as I waited. They made the most amazing, fun delicious gifts. As if that wasn't enough they listened to me complain and vent the whole time. Ladies you are amazing and your service was amazing and you were kind and professional and it's candy yea my favorite. Because Dylan's Candy Bar closed in roosevelt field i googled local candy stores in the area and came across this place. Having already looked up how much my purchase should cost, I figured their prices would be somewhat decent but I was definitely wrong. Not only was their selection slim but my small purchase of rock candy was much higher than what I had anticipated. I was the only one in the store at the time and apparently they never heard of helping customers. No one asked if I needed help or needed to find something specific. The cashier was on a personal call the entire time and I was completely ignored until I paid for my purchase. Definitely won't be returning there any time soon. read more

I ordered a shirt for camp for my son 7 weeks ago. I knew these things take time as their customized for the camp but i did not know it would take this long. I called earlier this week to get an update, and they didn't seem to recall that I had ordered a shirt (they remember me as having ordered and already picked up a blanket). They said they needed to pull up my order and would call me right back. I waited and then finally called them back 2 days later in which when I said my name, they said they still needed to pull up my order. I believe they lost my order and never sent it in to have the shirt made. Rather than just be honest with me, they strung me along until I finally realized I had their text info since they had sent me a proof of my blanket. Only on text, did the guy say the Vendor they use "must" have lost my order. This is unprofessional business and i would be hesitant to use them again although the blanket does look great. I have been on here a few times and find the selection of gift items for children is very good but the owners don't acknowledge you unless you are a regular. When you walk in you are nonexistent. They should be a little friendlier to all their customers, not only the regulars. Went in again one year later and with 4 people working there is still no help offered. I go here sometimes for birthday presents and gifts for the kids. I like the way they will wrap everything for free. But I must say they are WAY over priced on everything!!! The customer service is horrible- they barely look at you unless you are a regular- so I guess they do not care about getting new business. The selection of toys and new trendy trinkets is OK for kids, but the baby stuff is awful....do not bother unless you need a gift fast. Agreed. Customer service is non-existent. From my observation, the adult daughter runs and wraps the over-priced candy. She works side by side with some college girls. Her parents ultimately run the show. I saw a few regulars in front of me that got first priority for their dance recital junk. It seems to be the " in" place for lazy women who need a quick overpriced gift adorned in cellophane and cheap bows. Next time ill hit the dollar tree and produce something to really knock my socks off. read more

I have actually never written a Yelp review before, but after such disappointing service today - I had to. Running last minute errands for Christmas I ran into this store to get stocking candy. While waiting - 2 other costumers came in after me - obviously regulars - who were helped before me. Then when I was helped - the woman behind the counter spent the whole time talking with another costumer. Clearly this is a place for regulars - not for anyone else. I haven't felt that invisible in a long time. I would never go there again - and would encourage others not to either. read more
