my daughter was happy with the items we purchased, but this is an overpriced place. i've convinced my daughter that will go on Amazon.

This place had such good squshies! But they where charging a 2 inch squshie that is usually 5 dollers, but here it's 21 dollers

Amazing service great quality toys, fidgets and so much more! Not to pricey and restocks needohs a lot!

Overpriced. Store was filled with brats who want, want, want. College/camp swag was grossly overpriced.

Cute stuff, but the staff is horrible! I have never been to a store that had the most unprofessional staff working in one place, my daughter who is a teen says how rude they are. You work in a kids store you have to be able to deal with it, and dont get me started on the Needoh Drops they do, obsivesly they have alot just post we have them and call it a day, today the parking lot was a mad house, people almst getting hit by cars, people all over the place, complete circus, people were coming out with them before 3:30, lione didnt move. Horrible customer service, would not recommend. People spend alot of money which pays their salarys you would think you could get a simple thank you after paying, they always say they are so busy to answer the phoen but you always see at leasr one of them on their phone.... read more

Terrible customer service, especially for a kids toy store. Posted an hour before closing that they got dumplings, which are impossible to get and ran over to get them. Got there 10 minutes after closing, but called five minutes after closing and asked about the dumplings and they neglected to say they were closed, just answered all my questions and when I got there, they wouldn't open the door. Extremely rude when you're promoting the hottest item and you call for it and there's somebody standing at the front door and won't let you in. This is a kids toy store. Come on. read more

Great store to venture out to! They didn't have brand name Needohs but they had plenty of Squishy's. My family discovered this store years ago when pop-its were all the craze. The candy is expensive, but it's more of a boutique so that's expected. Definitely recommend! read more

Sugar crazy is such a fun place to pick up special gifts or to walk around with a young child. They have so many awesome gifts and great candy products. Great place! read more

A wild and dangerous store in a good way! This store has an abundance of unique sugar options, items ive never seen before. it's definitely easy to get carried away. Overall it was fun experience but a lot of the exposed gummies that you grab and go are extremely old and hard. I'm not sure how often they clean it out but they need to start doing that more often. read more

I've been here so many times these past 2 months and I must say, Sugar Crazy is probably the best toy store out there... They have the largest variety of fidget toys out of all the toy stores I've been to throughout the United States. They literally have every kind of fidget- simple dimples, pop its, fidget spinners, needohs, stress balls, squishies, squishmallows, slime- you name it, they have it, as well as ice cream, chocolates, candies, clothing, personalized packages and party favors. My daughter is obsessed with fidgets, the latest craze smh and she absolutely loves this store, it's definitely worth the 20 minute drive. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Prices are pretty reasonable even though it adds up and it can get really busy at times but the line moves fast. Highly recommend coming here for all your kid's fidget needs, gifts and sweets. read more

WTFing F!!!! I have done 277 reviews in different states to date; 93% of them are 5 Star including this establishment's previous review. Look for the gold and see it a lot. Grandkids loved this place till last week when we walked in and then walked out. Their employee approached me, stuck his hand ( cast on his other hand) in a bin to grab a gummy bear and shoved it in his mouth two feet away from me. Are you f'ing kidding me?.I called him on it right away and his sarcastic response was " Didn't you see my glove " as he showed me his bare hand and chewed loudly with a grin. Wow! We left. Funny that he had just come out from behind the counter with the owner ( tall, circular red tats each tricep) to show him that very bin a minute earlier. We were walking in and he was to our left at about my eleven o'clock. I called the store from the car. The owner called me back ( caller ID), apologized and stated he would have a meeting that night and address it. But then he also mentioned " hey kids today what are you gonna do, you know .....?". Sir, God Bless You and your thriving business where throngs of children and Moms come in droves daily. Not for me or my family. Gracias Pero No! I was here weekly or sometimes twice a week. Never again. Will absolutely look for a place in Glen Head or you know drive to Manhattan to find a safe, healthy, clean, respectful establishment. Fudge life is just too beautiful and too short!!! FUBAR!!!! read more

Today-Presidents day- Sugar Crazy was opened. They just closed at 6pm. My husband had a yen for chocolate covered orange peels and to my pleasure, they have them. I also ordered some truffles. Both $ are at 17.99 a lb. The bill came to 39.00 including the tax. The orange peels are fresh but the raspberry and Black Forest truffles are really hard- unless they're supposed to be like this , I find them too hard to bite into. ( see pix- though the image won't show the hardness) Guess we will have to compare and buy from one of the other places that specializes in these treats. read more

I strongly dislike this place. On the plus side, they have a great variety. The staff is hit or miss but generally a positive. The prices are disgusting. You won't find a bigger capitalist than me but gouging your customers like this I think is too far. Check out the picture below of the $60 arrangement. There's literally no way they could have spent $5 making this. I also am not one that has ever attacked a business for not being compliant with covid protocols but same thing as I mentioned with price. I even have my limits. The place was packed solid today. There was no way you could even try to be six feet away from the nearest person. It was completely impossible considering the amount of people inside. I've been here about six times, and unfortunately I'll keep coming back here and there. Bottom line is that your kids will love it, but there's plenty to dislike. read more

What a fun store! It's a mix of a candy store, toy store and specialty internet popular items. It was a lot of stuff to look at!! A little crowded with product but I can see why they want to display everything! It took me quite a few minutes to find what I wanted just because I was very distracted looking (and Yelping/balancing stuff in my hands). If my kids were with me, I'd bet I could lose them in the aisles. Ha ha They'd blend right in! If the item is trending, it can be found here. If it's popular, seasonal, classic, and fun, you can likely find it or ask for it. I saw so many Tik Tok, web based trends and popular internet gaming logos and specialty finds. I couldn't stop oogling things. I stumbled in here because the storefront was just so eye catching and with a name like Sugar Crazy...c'mon. You would've looked too. The staff was very friendly, asking me if I needed assistance or if there was something specific I wanted - goal was to buy some sweets. I made a bee line for the chocolate dipped oreos coated with M&M's and then the ones with Reese's. They also had Chocolate dipped pretzels with a number of toppings. My guess, their best seller must be the hot chocolate bombs. They are conveniently located at the cash register. I also bought a mask insert. While I'm not normally in the hood, I'd definitely return for gifts. There were some Chanel-esque designs throw pillows and lots of plushies. Note to management: less is more... The racks and aisles were a bit too packed and too tight. I was worried my bag would knock into things. read more

Sugar crazy is a kids dream come to life. They have everything a kid to teenager wants in one tightly packed store. They pack a lot of stuff in not that big of a store and it gets crazy but that's part of the allure. They stock every trending tik tok and Instagram items that all the kids want. Plus a huge selection of candy and flavors that you never new existed. Just be warned like I said it's a crazy place so enjoy the mayhem and take your time and see everything that they have. The staff is extremely friendly and will help you find things that you are looking for so don't be afraid to ask. read more

The ice cream was so delicious! The prices weren't bad for the toys. Will visit again!

If you like candy then you'll love this place! They also have a section of nut free candies and Al la mode ice cream for people with nut allergies, they use separate scoops for the ice cream. read more

WILL NOT RETURN While this is a very nice candy store with lots of merchandise I found the fact they carry a selection of candy cigarettes to be offensive disgusting product. I can't believe in 2023 they are still being sold and they have no place in a sore that caters to children. I will not return . read more

I'm shocked by some reviews that really are the total opposite of our experience! We have been to Sugar Crazy a handful of times now. My daughter has a nut allergy and it's nice to know a local business is providing many different flavor options she can choose from, so she can have the experience of going to an ice cream shop, like kids without food allergies, and feeling safe eating it. I've been so happy with the place, I mentioned to Jamie, the manager, that my daughters birthday was coming up and she wanted ice cream at her party. He went ABOVE and BEYOND to ensure we were happy, Was so patient as I asked a million questions, and made it such a smooth process to alleviate stress (as party planning can be stressful!). I brought my daughter the day before her party, to pick up the ice cream, and Jamie offered her a cup of ice cream with her favorite (nut free!!!) sprinkles. The look on my daughters face was priceless. I wish I had taken a picture of her smile, as Jamie made her feel SO SPECIAL. We will definitely be back!!! read more

So much hate in the reviews prior to my review. There is a lot to like here. Located in the County Pointe shopping center. Delicious ice cream, crepes, waffles, sundaes. huge candy selection, cupcakes and chocolates. Ice cream prices are on par with other gourmet ice cream shops in neighboring towns. Bulk candy prices are similar to chocolate works and several dollars less per pound than Dylan's candy bar. The complaints in prior reviews about prices found in an ice cream shop like this are ridiculous. The cost of a one scoop cone and a one scoop cup was about $11 with tax. If you want to save a few bucks, drive to Farmingdale or Huntington Village. Lots of staff behind the counter that keeps the line moving. I am sure sugar crazy will be crazy busy when spring and summer hit. read more

As a retail business owner and a long island resident for over 40 years my experience with Sugar Crazy in Plainview, New York was less than perfect. There have been many popular toys over the years and as a father of a young daughter I have always tried to accommodate some of her wishes. It is important that parents pick and choose which battles to fight and which ones to walk away from. I decided that my daughters recent request for her ninth birthday be fulfilled, even if it required a little bit of an additional effort on my part. This establishment social media page notified it's followers of a certain item coming into stock on the following day. I messaged a representative of the company in order to get information on how I can purchase the item. I was told that it was done by a "1st come first serve basis". I was misled. After being first in line in front of the store (I was there at 3:30 in the morning) the employees allowed a group of younger customers at the back of the line to be served first. I was neither assisted or accommodated finding the item that I wanted (I am near sighted, nor was my request for a special purchase honored. As a 45 year old man I felt uncomfortable with having to race through the store against children in order to acquire the item that I wanted. I expressed my concerns to the company representative well in advance to avoid any issues. I also suffer from high blood pressure and I anticipated the situation to be very stressful. The moral of the story is that it is important for business owners to accommodate all of their customers, especially ones who travel from far away, communicate openly, and make a genuine effort to support local businesses in today's economy. I can absolutely tell you 100% that the staff was completely unaccommodating to my reasonable request. Shop elsewhere. read more

Sugar Crazy - Candy Stores Near Me - Plainview, New York

I wasn't going to do this. I NEVER do this. But I feel it's necessary given the state of the world right now. I actually live close by and was asked to stop in to pick up candy for my niece before she came over. I found what I needed right away (prices are a little higher than other places but not terrible) and I walked to the back of the line which was a project within itself. The store was a MADHOUSE. Kids and their parents twisted through every single aisle with not a single sense of courtesy to others, no acknowledgement of 6 feet distancing- you'll be lucky to get 6 inches - people weave in and out of other people on line- it's insane. Now why does this reflect on the company? There are about 5 floor employees doing the same things- running around doing what they need to do without any sense of personal space (or CDC required space nonetheless..) and when I mentioned to the woman and man behind the registers that they should try to control the stores situation a bit better, they rolled their eyes at me. I should also add that the man kept pulling his mask under his chin to speak to his employees. I'm not sure what separates this store from the rest of the worldwide pandemic, but I can assure that I will never be back and I will also be filing a proper report. This just isn't right. read more

We saw this place on Instagram and had to try it. My daughter wanted the cookie dough sandwiches which included two cookies and raw ( edible) cookie dough in the middle. They have different varieties like rainbow sprinkle chocolate covered Oreo, or chocolate chip. I have to say that the cookie dough was really good. My daughter absolutely loved this store because not only did it have special treats to eat like caramel apples crepes, candy and cookies, they also had every glittery, sparkly, scented stuffed toy or pillow, cute clothing and trendy little items that little girls dreams are made of. It wouldn't be an everyday thing for us but for a special treat, it's worth the trip. read more

This place started out as a cute ice cream shop with a gift shop. I guess the heavily marked up gifts were more profitable. Now the space is totally crammed with overpriced candy and toys. The staff and patrons are incredibly rude. I put up with the staff until the day my elderly father went in there for gifts for the grandkids and they were rude to him. Never again. read more

Amazing selection of literally all the candy you can think of! Ice cream was super yummy and the space was extremely clean. Only bummer was that some of the staff (teenage girls) seemed aloof when it came to customer service and didn't really have any sense of urgency. Maybe that will come with age and life experience. Definately can't wait to try it again! read more

This is such an awesome candy store!! I took my cousin and goddaughter and it was a hit! They have so many different options for ice cream, chocolate covered pretzels, cupcakes, candy etc. On top of that so many fun options (sushi candy). The employees and owners are so nice and welcome customers with a smile. The store is clean and in the hour that I was there you saw the employees refilling the candy and cleaning up any spilled candy and any mess that was left. Will definitely be back and will definitely refer friends to come here. Well done and thank you for a great experience. read more

Awful experience here. Went in to get a care package for some friends who were quarantining due to covid. I asked someone if they could help me out a basket together and they showed me some pre made baskets, which didn't work for me because I didn't want anything with toys. When I asked her if I could give her a budget and she could just put some candy together she told me to do it myself because she doesn't know what kind of candy I want. I told her any candy would be fine and she refused to help me. The place was a zoo with kids running around everywhere like maniacs and it would have taken me forever to find everything, plus a lot of stuff wasn't priced. Sweet spot is much better and the staff is much more helpful. Will not be returning. read more

I think Sugar Crazy is an amazing candy/toy store! They have a selection like no other - so much fun original stuff that I can't even take my 19 year old daughter in without getting lots of stuff! For me, what sets any business apart, is a little bit of the product they offer, but way more important is the customer service! Because really, on Long Island, there are so many choices of candy stores, toy stores, restaurants, etc to choose from. So that's where Sugar Crazy really stands out for me! I had never met the new owner, Joey, but reached out to him for a raffle donation for a charity I run for breast cancer. He was happy to help, which is awesome! Of course, any donation is much appreciated, but Joey went so above and beyond that I was really surprised and grateful! He donated a gift basket worth well over $200 (all pink in honor of the charity - how thoughtful). Because of the owner's generosity and happiness to help, I will always patronize this business! Good karma! : ) read more

This place is the worst. They have fully jumped on the hype train for Squishmallows and have ruined it by creating an unsafe place to shop. They put out one rare one each day and let the 20 people in the line that started at 5am fight for it. They film the rush in the mornings and promote it on instagram so proud of the chaos they create. Not only is it unsafe during Covid due to not controlling the crowds by letting everyone rush in at once, people are getting physically hurt by others fighting. My niece had a squishmallow snatched from her hands by an adult and the owner saw it and did nothing. They think they are a great place to get squishmallows but I have seen grown adults leave this store with multiples of "popular squish" where my kids couldnt get any. The rules only apply to certain people I guess! Never shopping here again. read more

Pro: Cute store with a great selection of things my daughter loves. Cons: Hella crowded and the employees at the register ignored us on line to pay and chose to discuss their upcoming haircut appts instead. This place is like heaven for everyone who likes sugar. I went in and knew immediately that my 7 year old cousin would absolutely love it and honestly so did I, being in my early 20s. They have a ton of flavors of ice cream and gelato. Two people in my party got ice cream and one got gelato and we all loved it. I got pictures of other customers desserts and everyone was quite satisfied. They were a bit pricey, but worth it and the price makes sense for the neighborhood. Also, everyone who works there and owns the place were super sweet! Will be back for sure read more

If I could give this store 0 stars, I would. I was treated so poorly by the owner. For what reason? Asking a question about having something in stock. He snapped at me. When I asked for the manager, he said he is the owner. at that point I walked out and will not be going back. wtf is wrong with people these days?? The owner should be ashamed of himself and take an anger management course. I wish people would stop going to this store. I cannot believe how I was treated. From reading other reviews on here, I see he records customers with his phone. That is just plain wrong. I guess he gets off on having an overcrowded, overpriced store. Its really sad because when they first opened it was such a nice store. It's gone way downhill. read more
