This store sells upscale toys with free gift wrap and the very best sales associates I have seen by far. My wife and I needed baby gifts and a toy for a five year old . The knowledgeable staff helped us with an array of suggestions at all price levels. They gift wrapped for free and even have the coolest shopping bags. Poor Customer Service A family member purchased a toy for my toddler, but it turned out to be unsuitable. When I approached the staff for a return or exchange, one worker was helpful (but she had to ask the other ones opinion) while another was rude and uncooperative. She dismissed my request without even listening or looking at me, citing an open box as the reason for denial. Even though all the components of the item and its packaging inside were still wrapped, sealed, and untouched. An issue or return matter truly reveals the true colors of a business's customer service, as exemplified by the above described actions. I expected better treatment at a kids store and a willingness to resolve issues. Due to this experience, I will not be returning. read more

Was in a rush and needed 3 gifts for 3 8yr old boy bday parties. We left with 3 Pokémon box sets. Away from that there was not a large selection for that age. Best toy store ever. Every time I go I'm greeted warmly and offered help. I tell the gentleman the gender/age I need a gift for, and how much I want to spend, and immediately he shows me SEVERAL different options to choose from including which ones he highly recommends & for what reasons. This is so important to me as I don't have school age children and have no idea what to look for! Don't be fooled by the seemingly small storefront - this toy store has so much selection inside and so neatly organized. My kids and I were warmly greeted upon entering and offered help. This place is overpriced and has that, "don't touch anything" atmosphere. I had the unfortunate privilege of shopping for something on the first night of Hanukkah- it was an absolute mad house and the employees had no idea how to handle the rush; perhaps they aren't used to it. Anyway, I was in a bind and needed to get a secret Santa so I hopped in and bought a puzzle. I want to like this place, I really do. Free gift wrapping for everything over $5. This place is AWESOME. Fun as soon as you walk in the front door. Action packed place with toys to satisfy children and adults of all ages. The people are super friendly and super helpful in trying to find the best gift for us. I can't imagine why everyone would not rate this a 5 star establishment. This is the go to place for great gifts at a reasonable price. Could I find these items cheaper on Amazon or somewhere else ? Yes but I love to support local business when I can and this is a perfect place to do so. There was quite a bit of traffic in the store when we arrived but they seemed to handle the flow quite nicely. My daughter received a birthday gift for a product this store sell that unfortunately was damaged once we opened the box. I called the store to simply ask for an exchange but they didnt have the product in stock. The owner was so kind to find me the same product from another store and dropped it off at my house. The employees do not follow people around because they think that they're going to steal, and they do not follow people who they think have money, they do that because their job is to help customers find the perfect item for them . And having said that, alot of people do steal and alot of kids start playing with toys in the store and damage the packaging or the toy and then no one wants to buy it. And also in my experience the customers are much ruder than we could ever be. I work there, what I'm saying is the truth. I don't make commission, I only want to help people. If you're under 21, don't go there. They are going to watch you like a hawk because they think you're going to steal. Rude disrespectful and Overpriced. And if you're handicapped they will stare. When I went there, I was offered help immediately. They were so helpful, and I was able to find the perfect present for a six year old boy. While I was there, I picked up a little present for my daughter's upcoming birthday. At the register, the cashier was extremely friendly, offered to wrap the present, explained the very simple return policy and even spelled my name correctly, which nobody ever does! It was a pleasure and both the little boy and my daughter loved their toys! M J Beanz is our go to store for kids toys. Unlike large toy stores i.e. Toys R Us where you get no service, no attention MJ Beanz is a neighborhood gem. I usually walk in to a friendly greeting and say, "I'm here for a XX year old boy/girl that likes ABC and here is my price range $xx-$yy." I'm usually out of there within minutes. Wonderful service by 3 employees yesterday Cashier took the trouble to ask me about where my gift was going to be sure it wouldn't get damaged (they quickly wrap it for free and even give you a gift tag ) Item can be exchanged with the price sticker on it that says MJ Beanz, which is helpful for birthday gift giving when you don't know if a child has the item. Ungrateful....your business means nothing and they let you know it. Plus they are soooo loud.

The store associates make impractical, unknowledgeable recommendations and claim that they are "experts." The manager is uneducated, rude, and disrespectful. Prices are $5 more than both ToysRUs and BuyBuyBaby. An owner who truly cares about customers' business would take the time to speak and understand why a customer is upset instead of being dismissive. I have called the Better Business Bureau regarding the type of service provided as well as pricing in this store. read more

I normally don't write reviews but when I saw that MJ Beanz only had 3 stars I sincerely felt the need. This is my go to place for birthday presents and when I want to buy my kids a thoughtful toy. The staff is extremely helpful (without being pushy), they offer great suggestions and will suggest within a price range of you ask. I love it that they offer free gift wrapping. So much easier than shopping elsewhere and I save money on not having to buy a gift bag or paper. I literally buy a birthday present and throw it in the trunk until it's time to go. They even give a to/from sticker you can use and bonus stickers for the child you are gifting to. read more

I always enjoy shopping more at the Mom and Pop stores like this toy store rather then through big corporations because of the service and the stores are less overwhelming. The owner of MJ Beanz, Steve is the nicest guy, he is always willing to help me find whatever I'm looking for, for my 9 and 11 year old boys. They were so excited about mindcraft lego sets they got from there. The other big hit was the new hot items, the fidget Spinners, and fidget cubes. There are a lot of cheap imitations but MJ Beanz carries only the originals. All around customer the service is great they have a fantastic selection of toys and games. read more

The courteous service is consistent across the board, from owners to floor staff. Easy enough return policy, and they even track your purchases for you.
