In Center City (or Philly in general) you have a lot of options for cookies. Chip City takes the cake....or well... takes the cookies. They have a rotating menu but always offers some classics like chocolate chip or snickerdoodle. Similar to the lineup at places like insomnia, they have deluxe or classic offerings. My favorite is the lava cake or their spin on the cosmic brownie! The staff is friendly and they must be doing something right as I've come to recognize some familiar faces, doesn't look like much of a turnover which is always nice to see. There's a small seating area inside and it's covered in coloring sheets from the youngest of cookies fans. read more

5/24/25 Ate List: Choc Chip cookie - 7.7 Pretzel. Cookie - 7.9 Did a comparison w/ Levains this night. I tried the top two in the box in this pic. Both (warm, and without any milk assistance) I feel were better than Levains however I could see it being a more interesting fair fight if milk was involved. After enjoying brunch at a near by restaurant I was craving something sweet and stopped at Chip City! The decor is super fun with pastel colors. There were some thicker chunkier cookies which I was informed are the signature cookies. I decided to go with two of the thin cookies - chocolate chip And s'mores( both 10/10). Chip city is a lot like crumbl they specialize in speciality cookies especially in frosted cookies. These cookies are massive these are really two cookies in one. They also have a rotating menu each week. The menu changes so it promotes you to go back and try different cookies. I got their strawberry shortcake. It was delicious but also quite messy. YUM! Their cookies are delicious! It's super cute in here with the cookie graphics and neon light that says Chip city. There s a little table area where you can sit. Service isn't great but isn't horrible either. The workers greeted us and efficiently gave us our cookies. I tried their regular cookies and chip cookies and they were both delicious and soft! I am surprised to see so many cookie shops pop up all over the place these recent couple of years and they all see to be doing relatively well. Chip City is no different. As an occasional cookie lover, I decided to give this place a try. I got the Chocolate Chip Cookie and it was $5.50 for one, which is on par with what other cookie shops are charging. The size was pretty similar and maybe slightly flatter than its competitors but not by much. Chocolate chips are dark chocolate and the "cookie" part is made of brown sugar. Despite the use of dark chocolate, the overall taste of the cookie was still too sweet for me. Towards the end, I had troubles finishing it as it was too cloying. The texture was okay. The outer edges were slightly crispy and the inside was soft. I would have liked the inside to be a bit more moist as it was getting a bit try. The workers inside were nice. I usually take a long time to decide on what to get. The workers did not pressure me to order right away and let me take my time. The place inside also looked modern and had a fun teal colored themed decor. Not many tables and chairs. However I did notice most people take their cookies to-go. read more

Got the Cookies N' Cream Cookie to try. It was warm, had a soft center, and crispy bottom/edge. Mixed into the cookie were chunks of Oreos and white chocolate chips. The cookie is thick and pretty big in size. Overall, a very good cookie. About $5 per cookie. The staff who helped me was very nice and knowledgeable about all the cookie flavors. Another cookie comes to Philly! Chip City is a big thick cookie! It was so yummy! The chocolates chip was soft and chewy with lots of chips. The Smore had a graham cracker dough with chocolate chips and marshmallows. It was also yummy! The store is bright with a seating area. The counter has the cookies displayed. Came here on their second day open and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Had to try a chocolate chip cookie to get the original and it's very good. For $5, you get a pretty big cookie! The cookies are packaged in a box that also includes reheating instructions Very excited to try the mikes hot honey cornbread cookie later! So many good flavors to choose from like cookies and cream plus dairy-free options are available as well. Looks like the menu changes a bit with special each week. Especially when you claim it serves 4 and girrrrrrrl you know I'm eating the whole cookie by myself. Because otherwise obvi that cookie going stale. Whhhhy would you show the calorie count as 150 But the smaller print says 4 servings Also. I hope it was on purpose but the middle of cookie was wet and almost tasted under cooked. I got the Brownie Galaxy as my first time here. It was a special for a Friday. The edges had a nice crisp but not hard. And middle and inside was nice and soft. It was very sweet and chocolatey. I wouldn't eat this in one sitting. Enjoyed it over two days. The staff was very friendly and even went to check with his manager when the next time the peach cobbler would come back because I missed that. read more

The regular cookies are humongous. There are not many cookies on the display to make sure that they are always fresh and warm. You can also have the thinner size, which is cheaper. Their unique product is croissant with cookies inside. Please note that they are available only until 3 PM. Staff is s very friendly and courteous. Store is clean and has seatings to enjoy the cookies or ice cream. They also offer loyalty program which allows you to collect points for ever purchase. Every time I come to Chip City I have the BEST experience! I genuinely believe it has to do with the location's manager La Tricia. She is very welcoming and always wears a smile on her face. Today my friend tried the Chilly Philly and I tried the Blueberry Cheesecake Chewie-wich. We split each in half to try both and I have two new faves! The Chilly Philly was stuffed with a cream cheese filling and the cookie was soft on the inside and perfectly crispy on the outside; it was so good! And the Blueberry Cheesecake one had a cream cheese and blueberry tart filling and it had the perfect sweet/tart balance. I really enjoy trying new flavors each time! My friend brought me here for the first time this past Sunday, and when I say I had great time, no exaggeration! The manager, LaTricia or LaTrice (I cant remember how to spell her name ) was a delight! She's so cool, down to earth, and was super helpful, especially in choosing a delicious cookie!! Very good cookies. They were warm and dense, the way a good cookie was meant to be. Clean facility. The employees weren't the nicest. I asked for a cup of water for my dog, but was given attitude and told they weren't able to give out water (even though there's a sink right behind them). I told them I'd just buy a bottle and the employee was fairly snippy about giving me one to purchase. Maybe it was just an off day, but it certainly made the experience less enjoyable. read more

I stopped in after hearing about this new spot from a friend. Even on a Friday night with a little over an hour of service left, there were still plenty of options available which I appreciated. The staff were very friendly and everything looked very clean. I got a box of three flavors: Cookies and Cream, S'mores, and White Chocolate Macadamia. Every cookie tasted great--I can't decide which is my favorite! Considering the location, I can see myself stopping by after dinner or work. First time trying chip city! This is a cookie shop East coast based only so far. I'm used to crumbl, so I wanted to see how they compared. They have rotating flavors every week just like crumbl, but acouple staple flavors that are always there like the chocolate chip and brookie. Prices are about on par to crumbl. When I first came in the service was great and she explained some of the most popular ones and her personal favorites. The cookie was warm and a decent size (maybe an inch smaller in thickness and wideness to crumbl). The outside was crunchier and the inside was a melty. Texture wise I prefer mine to be alittle softer for a cookie. Maybe it was because this was a diary free cookie that made the texture alittle different compared to the others. I would want to try a normal cookie next time to see how the texture differs. Overall a solid cookie place for your sweet treat craving. I think some weeks are better than others with their weekly rotations so keep an eye out for the menu. read more

No matter what kind of donut I get there, the donut itself always keeps it shape and flavor even a day later. The peanut butter cream is my all time favorite. The peanut butter is ooey gooey goodness. My second favorite is the apple filled. The apples are so Fresh and delicious. If you go to Reading Terminal, you must go there. I dream of these donuts.

It's a smaller but very cozy and homey interior with two tables for sitting down to enjoy your coffee and pastries. It's also cash only or Venmo, so keep that in mind if you never carry cash! It's a small bakery and a small selection but sufficient. We got the sponge bread, the custard bread, the egg tart, the pineapple bun, and the barbecue pork bun for )10.70 cash. The sponge bread is slightly sweet and very light and really quite wonderful. The barbecue pork bun and the pineapple bun were exactly as it should taste. No wonder those two are the best sellers. The egg tart is not too sweet, none of these breads are (aka high praise for any pastries ). Would definitely return! I thought the service was nice. I think there could be some challenges with English, but you could also just point!! My personal favorites are the sponge bread and the pineapple bun. So that's what I would get again. For people who love barbecue pork bun, I think you probably would want to get this.

I also love their cream buns (like a huge bun, sliced down the middle and filled to the brim with light fluffy cream). They also serve moon cakes and other things, but I'm a creature of habit and usually get the same braided bread situation I just gushed about. My sons usually get a slice of cake. The service is quick and friendly. There are usually two women who bag your order and take your cash or card.
