A premium ice cream, chocolate, and fudge shop that I'll always gladly support! I stopped in with my co-workers yesterday around 1:30 PM. We like to have an ice cream date once a year and this year, we decided to try Kilwins. It was a nice after-lunch treat. The store is clean and fully stocked and the employees welcomed us with smiles and a friendly hello. Honorable mention for the music selections inside, too. We stood around for a good 10 minutes trying samples. The woman behind the counter was patient with us and even agreed to do a "sampler pack" of ice cream for my co-worker who wanted more than one flavor. I ultimately decided to go with the Strawberry Chunk. It lives up to the name as it had actual chunks of strawberries mixed in. Very creamy and decadent. The small size was about $7. When I paid at the register, the gentleman who rang me up was happy to receive cash instead of card payment. He said customers rarely pay in cash. He provided me with a lid, a spoon and a bag to transport my ice cream back to the office. Although they had limited flavors due to a busy weekend, they still had something for everyone. We stopped in for some ice cream after our meal and I am so glad we did. The ice cream was so good and creamy. I had the butter pecan with nice chunks of pecan. I loved it. In addition they also have chocolates and fish. Definitely going back to try other flavors. read more

Lots of yummy options, the chocolates and confections looked fabulous, the service was great, friendly and cheerful. I went for the ice cream, it was good. Generous portion in the small cup. I had vanilla salted caramel. It was fresh with a good bit of caramel and flavor. The ice cream display cases don't make it as appealing as the chocolate. It was good but did not taste different than store bought. Convenient location in center city but homeless and panhandlers in abundance and aggressive very near the entrance. No seating just take-out and a bit expensive. read more

After walking block after block in search of a coffee shop or anything open at 8 PM on a Saturday night, we stumbled upon this ice cream shop--unsure if they would even have hot chocolate. To our surprise, they did! We ordered two small ones, and the attendant made them from scratch with dark chocolate, hot milk, and a generous topping of whipped cream. The result? A rich, silky, and absolutely delicious treat--perfect for the freezing 27°F weather. The shop had a welcoming atmosphere, and we noticed other customers enjoying ice cream samples. If the weather had been warmer, we definitely would have tried some ourselves. Based on the quality of the hot chocolate alone, I highly recommend this place. Stopped by after having dinner and this was a great sweet treat spot. They sell fudge, Carmel popcorn, Carmel candy apples and ice cream. Staff greeted us as we walked in and asked us if we wanted to try and treats. I ended up trying the coconut caramel ice cream, it wasn't bad too much coconut for my likening. I ended up ordering the chocolate caramel pecan, caramel candied apple and New Orleans Praline ice cream in a waffle cone. That was some good ice cream. I love ice cream!!! My mother use to make it for us when we were young children. I stumbled upon Kilwins while out shopping one day. Then, to my surprise they opened a store close to my job. It had been a while since I had purchased ice cream from them. I looked up the address, checked the menu for my flavor (Butter Pecan), and also looked up the ingredients. I do not recall seeing High Fructose Corn Syrup listed (I wouldn't have purchased it). Ive purchased ice cream from them about 6 times within he last year and never read the label. Today I started reading it only because it was crooked. There it was High Fructose Corn Syrup! Sadly,this is the last time I'm getting ice cream from them. I walked into Kilwins today for the first time and was warmly greeted by multiple employees and the incredibly kind owner of the store herself. She insisted I try a sample of the lemon meringue pie ice cream before I left, just so I wouldn't miss out on such a superbly delicious limited edition taste. Upon request, she enthusiastically showed me the document certifying nearly every item in the store as kosher (save items labeled "KRISPIE, GUMMY, OR TWINKIE"), a rare goldmine for me. I cannot strongly enough recommend the Sea Salt Caramel Chocolate Fudge. It is SO GOOD. I've never had a fudge that melts in my mouth so smoothly and readily, with such a deep, rich, and sweet flavor that commands one's full attention in the best way possible. And their famous caramel swirling through and gracing the top adds a delectable boldness and depth that genuinely caught me off guard. Was finally able to stop in here and try some of their stuff. The chocolate is pretty tasty, with a thicker creaminess and very sweet. Milk chocolate and dark chocolate both nice flavors. Caramel apple was okay. Haven't had their ice cream yet. Lots of different candy and chocolate items inside to choose from. Prices are a little high for some things. As someone who loves sweets it is hard not to rate this high. Store was cute well lite and had lots of sweet treat options. Disappointed as I was expecting a lot. Tried fudge and it was OK but nothing great. Bought Carmel apples and cashew brittle and was disappointed to say the least which it is so hard to say that when treats are miniature little pleasures. Carmel on Apples was good but Apples themselves were mushy and not very good. Cashew brittle was expensive at 16.99 a bag but was pretty bland. Would go back and try other treats. I've been to several Kilwins from Wilmington, Williamsburg, Virginia Beach, and Charlottesville. This Kilwins location was in the same area as the hotel we stayed in this past weekend. It was busy. We didn't come for ice cream this time. I was on a mission to find fresh marzipan. It seems like only a select few of Kilwins carry marzipan in the glass case. This particular one did not. I've tried about 4-5 other ice cream spots in the city and found most (if not all) of the rest to be overrated. I stopped by here on a summer afternoon last year and tried their peach ice cream. This store is SOOOO cute. We just happened upon while walking around Philly. We stopped in midday, and it was empty, but the shelves were packed. When we walked in we were greeted by the sweetest woman who let us sample some of the flavors of ice cream before purchasing. We settled on salted caramel chocolate and s'mores (in one cup), chocolate cookies and cream and cappuccino chip. They even had toppings. It was delicious! read more

Yum!!! We're tourists here in Philly. After dinner we decided to walk to an ice cream shop. Well, Kilwins did not disappoint! We were looking in the window drooling over the fudge, not realizing this was the place we were going for ice cream. We stepped inside to a well lit, clean, organized store. The atmosphere was pleasant. We were greeted by a couple of young men who were polite and kind. They gave us samples, and then the 7 of us chose our ice cream flavors. You can't go wrong once you've had a sample! My 6 friends got a one scoop cup of ice cream. The size was very impressive. I got a s'mores ice cream in a waffle cone. They cone was still warm when they gave it to me. The ice cream was delicious! The cone made it even better. Unfortunately I have no photos to show because we ate it all up right away! What impressed me most was that they had homemade candy. The Kilwins bear claw was a big piece of Carmel covered cashews covered in chocolate. YUM! They had a wide variety of chocolate treats as well as peanut brittle and prepackaged candies. I didn't get everything that I wanted, so I guess I'll have to go back tomorrow Great food, great service, and a very clean and welcoming atmosphere. I highly recommend this place. I'm not sure how Philly businesses manage to do it, but literally every franchise that exists in Philly is the worst franchise ever. Kilwin's in Michigan = amazing! Kilwin's in Philly = the worst fudge I've ever had in my life. i don't even understand how it's possible to mess up fudge but Philly figured it out :) sea salt caramel fudge tasted like a pack of cane white sugar with NO flavor. i knew something was off when the consistency was mush but wow absolutely terrible. for all the franchises out there, someone please teach philly how to do better. read more
