My cousins and I came here on a Friday night for drinks and had a nice time. We made reservations in advance to sit outside. Unfortunately, it was freezing that day. We had a table next to the fire pit so that helped tremendously. Not all tables have one so we were lucky! Drinks are pricey but it's for the experience. I ordered the cocktail called Always Sunny. Tasted nice and wasn't too sweet. We also ordered the cheese board and tacos, which were both very good. They played great music, beautiful scenery, and friendly service. I've never been to Assembly before but have heard great things about it mostly because of its amazing views of center city. This place has the best view of the parkway (minus the rooftop of the Franklin Institute). In wintertime, the place was decorated as an Alpine Ski Resort. The bar is really tiny but the private seating options looked pretty cool with their fireplaces. Ended up getting alpine floral toddy which was amazing. The hot hibiscus tea with the rum really tasted warm and amazing. The bartenders were quick with our drink orders as well. FYI- this bar is located on the 9th floor of the Logan hotel. One of the elevators only goes to the 8th floor which caused us such confusion. read more

Went here for Sunset Sunday and my expectations were pretty high. That fell flat almost immediately. First, our waitress had such an attitude and took forever to ask us any drink order (which at first was just water) thee took another 20 mins to come back and ask us for food. We tried to order the food when she had asked us our drink order but she legit just walked away after we said waters for now. Then she brought our food, we order drinks and she starts cleaning the table next to us - this would be great except she sprayed the cleaning solution and it literally flew directly onto our food and drinks. It's a rooftop so it's already windy up there, you would t5hibk she would be more mindful of spraying cleaning solution next to people's food. The food was mediocre at best and 2 out of 4 of us ended up with upset stomachs afterwards. I went to use thee bathroom and it was absolutely disgusting. First off all, it was 59° in there- literally. The thermostat was on AC set to 59°!!!! The there was water and paper towels everywhere. I cannot stress enough that we were there for the sunset Sunday which starts at 4. Assembly opens at 2. How in the world did the bathroom get that disgusting in 2 hours?????? Came here to catch up with a friend and made reservations for outdoor seating. Plus side of the reservation was that we just to sit by the fire pit (which wasn't guaranteed). Downside was the $10/person charge to make the reservation. I had the rose gold margarita and it was a strong drink but the alcohol wasn't overpowering. Meh. I'm conflicted with Assembly because the views are spectacular. But, service, wait staff and food were mediocre. I wanted to check out their heavily promoted Christmas theme. There's a $10 per person cover charge and we booked the reservation in advance. Upon entering, I advised we had a reservation and the manager said there were only tables inside when my reservation was specifically for outside and paid the $20 fee, for who knows what. Our waitress came over to take our order and her energy wasn't it. We ordered drinks and they didn't have the alcohol we asked for and she would have to go downstairs to get it. We asked if she could do so and hope it wasn't an inconvenience. She said it was an inconvenience and came back advising they didn't have it. It was clear she didn't even look. Ordered the fondue which was different. It had cookies and coconut marshmallows with chocolate. Not worth it! I would expect this on a weekend. I had the privilege of working with Hannah Boothman in organising a networking event at the Assembly Rooftop Lounge. Despite the weather being touch and go, the Assembly Team went above and beyond to accommodate us and our needs (not an easy task as we are based in London, UK!). The food and drinks were superb and the staff were really helpful and considerate. It was a wonderful evening all round and I hope we get the chance to work with them again in the future. As a server, bartender and many other positions in restaurants throughout the years, I've really try to go into bars and restaurants with low expectations and giving the workers a lot of grace, but this was just not applicable here. And that is saying something coming from me. Our Server, Crystal, came to our table, only two times and we only ended up getting one round of drinks because she just would not come to us. It was a Monday night, I would understand if it was a busy night or the weekend but after walking through the place, there were not that many people so I didn't totally understand the lack of service. It ended up not being too big of a deal, but it was just surprising because we were expecting better service and a potentially get food but we ended up not because our server just did not come to our table more than two or three times. Going off of this, we had to ask her many times and even go up to the bar to find her to ask for a check which is something I just really don't understand as someone who works in this industry. Overall, the ambience is great, but the service is truly lacking and I don't know if that just is because we came on and off night, but as someone who works in this industry and has a similar position, it just really threw me off, especially on a night that wasn't really that busy. It makes me wonder what it's like on the weekends or when it actually is busy if our service was really that bad. Along with this, I've never been to a restaurant that had a 21% gratuity for people six and over so that really shocked me. I've worked in four different restaurants in two different states and it's always been 18%. I don't know if this is just a city thing (even thought I've worked in a city), but it just is something to be mindful of if you plan to go! I do not think our service was worth 21% tip and that's coming from me who always tips at least 20% to my sever when I go out to eat or drink. Overall, I think it's in a great location and has great views, but I would not expect much from the service and prices at the bar and restaurant. read more

Planned a birthday dinner here for a group of non-alcohol drinkers. The view was immaculate! We made reservations for 7:30pm, so we were able to see the sunset and enjoy our food in the dark. The rooftop decor gives off Miami vibes. The portions are super small, this is definitely a spot where drinks are prioritized and the food acts as fillers in between drinks. That being said, the views made up for it and this spot is more of an experience. There's a $10 per person reservation charge which I've never come across. Given they are a rooftop lounge specializing in drinks, more than one mocktail on their menu would have been accommodating. Plenty of restaurants with extensive menus manage more than one mocktail. The lobster roll with chips was pretty good. The roll was more like a breadstick in width, but tasted good. read more

Mostly, it was a nice experience. The main selling point has to really be the view. It was beautiful. My friends and I didn't order any food, just drinks but the drinks were delicious. We absolutely loved the peanut butter hot chocolate. Pricing, personally I feel like it is a was bit high with the cover charge of $10 per person. We were a group of 3, right of the bat we spend $30 just to enter without any food or drink. If you're a bigger group, you'll be spending more. It would be a little better if at least a part of that cover charge could go toward the food/drink bill. Service was mostly nice. We had a late reservation time but we got there about an hour and 15 mins early. Which we understand was our fault but the first host we encountered was so rude and just walked away from us when we asked if it was possible to be seated a early. For such a classy place, that was such a classless attitude. About half an hour later when she left we tried asking again and the second host we encountered were so much kinder. She took a look for us and came back with good news and was able to seat us; and even moved us to a couch location as well later on. The server we had was nice. He took our orders, attentive enough and delivered in a prompt manner. Overall, I would go back again. Thanks to the second host that experience went from bad to really good. I enjoyed the view and the drinks but next time would definitely make sure timing is more correct when I book. read more
