This was my very first time at Chip City and wow... I loved it!! The cookies are HUGE but so yummy, and they're super easy to heat up if you have left overs so you get that perfect soft, warm bite every time! They are made so fresh! I tried three flavors and shared them with some friends: Original Chocolate Chip -- classic and delicious (because duh, you have to try it). Biscoff -- good, but a little overbearing, not as special as the others. Cookies & Crème -- hands down one of the best cookies I've ever had!! Perfectly gooey and flavorful. Not too sweet either. So there are many cookie places in the city... but this has some of my favorites. I really love their chocolate chip. I put it over Levain as it has more cookie taste and less chocolate onslaught. It's less sweeter than Crumbl. Now I don't think it's as good as some of the local bakeries (looking at you Beatrix and BFC) still do it better. I would stick with their chocolate chip though. While perusing the many options, I asked about the "crookie" which is apparently a croissant/cookie mashup but you have to order ahead of time. I wanted to try this place out while taking a break from work and saw the amazing reviews! I had the chocolate chip cookie and smores cookie. I didn't really think they were anything special to be honest. I am surprised at the comparison to Crumbl because Crumbl tastes a lot better than these in my opinion! The smore only had marshmallows at the top of the cookie, which usually they are inside like an actual smore. So there was a lot of graham cracker without the balance of the marshmallow: The cookie was not great it was okay. I took bakery at culinary school and I'm not sure what happened here it should be a lot better if this is a professional baker ( I only tried two cookies perhaps others are better??). This's the first chip city location in Illinois!! We're so excited to try it. We wanted to see if it's worth the hype!! The French toast cookie was really good, it's their special for the week, and with the maple syrup and powdered sugar! It's legit like eating a slice of French toast but in cookie form. Their cookie is more of a cakey texture! The s'more's one is also very good, chocolate chip cookie with toasted marshmallow on the center. The biscoff cookie was kind of plain, it's like a plain cookie dough with some biscoff filling inside. There's wasn't enough filling inside however, it's not as flavorful as the others. I had heard of this place on social media. The decor inside is very very cute and they sell their own merch. The service is decent; I was helped by a young gentleman who was kind and answered my questions. I ended up with three of the traditional cookies (smores, chocolate chip, cookies and cream) and one thin double chocolate chip cookie. They are all very large, with the traditional being thick like the cookies from Crumbl or Levain. The flavors were great. My favorite was by far the thin cookie. Was curious to see how this compared to Levain and Crumbl. Got the brookie which was hard on the bottom. After microwaving it, the texture and brownie portion were better. The other cookie, cannoli, was tastier. The sugar cookie base was just sweet enough and the cannoli cream didn't overpower the cookie.
