I'm a baker so I normally don't like to buy baked goods but I've seen so many good things about Chip City I figured I would give it a shot! I got 3 cookies and ordered on GrubHub (it was really rainy outside and didn't feel like walking over). I got a chocolate chip, a smores cookie, and a dairy-free Biscoff cookie. The s'mores cookie was delicious -- enough sweetness without being too sweet though I wish they used marshmallow fluff instead of mini marshmallows on top. I think that would've made the cookie better! The chocolate chip was great too (better than Crumbl) and the Biscoff was shockingly incredible for being dairy free! read more

Stopped by for a sweet treat after dinner out and was quite impressed with the variety of cookies!! I ordered the Brookie and it was a fantastic blend of their brown sugar cookie and their chocolate brownie. AND they are served warm! So the edges had a bit of a crust and the inside was slightly melty and gooey. So good! Appreciated they had dairy free options too. A delicious treat after spending a bookoo amount of money at the nearby Apple store. Right upon entering, you get an alluring scent of cookies. They have a nice variety of cookies priced comparably. The portions are very generous for one and even split to share. For six cookies, it came out to just a little over $30. The cookies were delicious with crispy edges and soft underbaked centers. Serve as is or warm, both options will hit the spot. Will be back again to try the many other options. Parking is available in the paid garage or street parking. Enjoy! read more

Cookie craving on a Sunday; Crumble was closed so when typing in Chocolate chip cookies in uber eats Chip City was next in line. I have never heard of this spot. But took a chance on delivery. It was buy one get one free so we got 2 CC cookies and 2 cookies and cream. Delivered in a cute box. Cookies are thick and gooey. Didn't need much warming up but we nuked them in the microwave for 15 seconds. Hubby and thought they were delicious! And cured the craving! :) Would definitely give them a shot! read more

This location is right outside of Barnes & Noble in Clarendon which is fun - books and cookies are a great combo! I got the Banoffee cookie, which was the flavor of the week and my fave, followed by the Smores. I wasn't as much a fan of the dark chocolate peanut butter one. Overall the cookies were good but a bit too on the "done" or crispy side for my preference - it's like they went in the opposite direction of Crumbl which I often think is too underdone or doughy. Apparently I'm the Goldilocks of cookies, who knew! I did see they sell sundaes with their cookies though so I might try that next time to soften the cookie a bit. read more

Showed up around 8PM, a lot of the cookies we saw available online that enticed us to visit weren't actually in stock anymore. We ended up choosing a few Christmas special cookies. A dark chocolate cookie, a baklava cookie and an Italian almond flour cookie with raspberry filling. I really wanted to like this spot but despite how badly I was craving sweets, these cookies really were not good. The texture was much too firm. The baklava cookie tasted like a regular sugar cookie. I will be buying cookies from Whole Foods a block away over this next time. read more

I had to try their new Banoffee cookie and it didn't disappoint! They could give Crumbl a run for their money. They have a great promo on Uber Eats (buy one cookie, get another free). We came in randomly for a cookie on a Monday afternoon. I got the cookies and cream cookie. These cookies are so big. But they are also delicious. They're not overly gooey in the center like some cookie places offer, which I like. When they are too gooey, They taste undercooked. These cookies are pretty dense, but still soft. We split one cookie between three people. You could take one down on your own if you want, but it could be a bit much. It had a great flavor and I thought it was cooked well. It wasn't overwhelming or overly rich. I would definitely recommend. Ambience and site is chill. There was literally nobody else there when we went. The service was fine. read more

After dinner last Thursday, my friends and I always want to get dessert. One of them raved about the cookies at Chip City being the best in the area, so we stopped by a bit after 8 PM. For a cookie shop chain, I expected the reviews on Yelp to be a 3 or 3.5, but surprised to see it at a 4.5! We got the brookie (not too sweet, but it was on the staler end) and the s'mores (super soft with a gooey, marshmallow center that we all loved) along with a 16 oz. of milk. Now, that milk is from Harris Teeter and no flame on HT dairy products but they're selling a pint of it for 3.25 here. RIP. But hey, convenience, right? The milk was perfect with the two cookies we got. I wish the brookie was a bit fresher but I really enjoyed this one. The s'mores is preferable for those with a bigger sweet tooth. The concept of this cookie store is probably my favorite type of store (similar to Crumbl). On a weekly basis, the store rotates through various types of cookies. This gives the customer a reason to keep updated with their cookie selection. Especially cookie lovers. This was the first time I tried Chip city, and I was not disappointed. The staff was full of energy and gave me some recommendations as I chose my selection. I tried the Cookie Butter with Bischoff, Triple Chocolate and Cookie and Cream. All great flavor. I actually only wanted 2 but they told me the third one was half off. Definitely a good sweet treat for the end of the week. read more

I had to deduct a star because they do not have military discount. But aside from that they did offer me a taste of a new cookie which was espresso churro and boy it was delicious! I got 6 cookies and it came out to 29 which was from the tax of course but a 6 pack cost 27 and some change. The cookies are all thick boys which have soft centers. Incredibly large portioned for two sized cookies are warm and gooey on the inside and perfectly crunchy on the outside. The smores is a household favorite but I'm basic and always opt for the classic chocolate chip- executed to perfection. I know what you're thinking. What is so good about these cookies? There is one too many of them already. Well, they are different. Chip City's cookies are more like the ones you always have in mine, just a lot bigger, thicker, chewier, fresher, and more interesting. They don't play with the form and layers, but focus on expressing the flavors and packing their thinking into each cookie. You can always catch the aroma even when you are 50 feet away. When you enter the store, the warm atmosphere will pump up the happy thoughts when you bite into the Chip City cookie in your hands. read more

If I had to live in a city, I'd probably want to live in this one. Stop what you're doing. Go to Chip City, get you a half dozen cookies. Say assorted but actually just get six of the cookies & creme cookies. Profit? The cookies are really good the day of and even the next few days after. Make sure you bring your a-game because your sweet tooth will be kicking your a- while you're eating these, but it's so worth it. It's in a great location with parking nearby and plenty of outdoor seating for when the weather is nice. read more

A new cookie shop in the Clarendon Crossings area! I visited on a Sunday late afternoon and they had about 6-7 flavors. I really liked their cookies and cream cookie (nested cookies?) and mocha cookie. The service was quick and the store was clean. I would agree that heating up the cookie before consuming is the way to go! At least currently, the store is doing some deals (buy 2 get 3rd one half off), which is what I did and the total price was about $13. read more

Love this place for its unique variety of cookies! They also have great offering for dairy free desserts. I LOVED the cookies and cream cookie (it's filled with chocolate Oreo and some marshmallows). My second favorite is the confetti. The chocolate chip is good too but honestly if you're going to chip city test out some of their out of the box (no pun intended) flavors!! It's very worth it and not super expensive like other fancy bakeries. read more

We came here close to closing time on a Friday night and there were only 3 flavors left. Fortunately they were coming out with a fresh batch of chocolate chip so we waited for the fresh ones to come out. It was delicious!! It was a little raw in the middle but it might be because it was so busy inside and it was past closing once the cookies came out so they might've been rushed a bit. My son and I placed an online order for the 3 box special Sunday night at the Clarendon location. We were excited to try this place out for the first time. When we arrived we stood there awkwardly while the employee behind the counter ignored us, no eye contact no greeting nothing. Eventually, she yelled for backup... who peeked out from the back, saw us, and went right back to scrolling on her phone. After five minutes of this weird standoff, the person from the back came out again no greeting, no smile--mind you there was no one else in the store but us. The cookies? Just okay. The service? It took so much to get to this place and trying to locate it. It is in a cute little shopping center called the Crossings in Clarendon. I got to see many other places before arriving to my destination. It was a very clean store and the smell of the cookies immediately hit you when you open the door (in a great way!). I was lost for words with all the choices and the worker really talked me through it and was patient with me taking my time. He also sealed my package for me and make everything neat for carry out. I didn't get a chance to try their coffees but I did notice they had cold brew in case anyone is interested. The cookies were amazing and I suggested you put them in the oven at 400° for 2-4 minutes to get it back to its freshness. read more

I love this cookie shop! It's definitely my favorite cookie place in the area! They're always served warm, and the cookies are huge! I don't think they're overly sweet, and I love how their menu always rotates weekly, but still has their signature 5 to choose from daily. Each cookie is about $5, but if you buy 5 you get one free. highly recommend their cookies and crème cookie. When I went the other day, they had a banana cream pie cookie as their special and I normally don't like banana flavored cookies/sweets but it was so good and very subtle. Another new cookie spot in the area, Chip City cranks out massive cookies with massive flavor. We tried the chocolate chip cookie and the cookie butter cookie. Service was friendly as the staff gets their rhythm down. For two cookies it cost $10. The cookie itself was good but a bit hard to eat "cold"; it hurt my teeth a bit. Pro tip: take the cookie and warm it up for 20 seconds- that makes the cookie almost 5 star. I'll have to come back and give it another try! read more

It is VERY rare that I can find dairy free desserts that taste like the real thing. The dairy free chocolate chip cookie was AMAZING. Even my son was surprised at how good it was. Even if you don't have to eat dairy free food, you HAVE to try this cookie. It was so good I walked back to the store to tell the team thank you for making a good dairy free cookie. Worked here for a few months, and our general manager was fired for stealing over 2K dollars. Of course they didn't take any legal action because she wasn't a POC however they fired her entire staff that had absolutely nothing to do with said theft. It got to the point she was asking the employees for funds to help pay it back. I'm going to post a screenshot of the employee that sent her $1,000 to help pay the company back the money she stole. The general manager Sam was amazing. She greeted my family with a warm smile and a big welcome. The store is big and this beautiful blue with a neon sign and cute little characters in the wall. The cookies were HUGE. I loved the chocolate chip and the blueberry cheesecake, but what I loved more was that the flavors change weekly. The staff are very welcoming, and they say "welcome in, is this your first time?" and I go "Ohh nononono, I am WELL familiar with this establishment".
