    Spicy & Sour Potato Noodles

Atmosphere: Downscale restaurant with a couple tables outside. I got my food to go. Food: Delicious. I went with the Spicy & Sour Potato Noodle Soup. It was excellent. Good kick to it, great flavor. Noodles were great. Can't wait to come try other dishes. Price: Prices were reasonable. Will definitely return. Service: Ordered takeout so N/A Parking: Street parking

General Tso's chicken is on point. Steamed veg prepared to perfect al dente. Pork belly prepared to the point of melting and a little too heavy. I might have doubled the scallions to brighten it up. Service was friendly and POS seamless so I could rush out the door. You'll get the no nonsense "hole in the wall" atmosphere, but the neon lights and food pictures embrace the nostalgia.

Been here a few times just for the dumplings and noodles which we loved. They really are the stand out. I would not order the noodle soups again only because they are a bit greasy and messy, one look and you will know not to wear good clothes are just be really careful. The weekday lunch special is a great deal for the price, quality and quantity of the food. I really recommend it if you are in this area.

If you want Chinese food, this is a solid option! It's been around for 70 years, but new owners took over in 2017. Guy Fieri came here, if you care. It's pretty classic decor inside, nothing fancy. It has one of the best neon signs to adorn any business in Portland! Iconic. They are famous for dumplings, so you know we had to try some! They sell them frozen to go. For our first visit, we got the Dumpling Combo #2, General Tso's Chicken, Green Beans, and the La Pi Salad, two bowls of rice. This is way too much food for two, but we wanted leftovers. Food comes out as it's ready. The dumplings were moist, packed full, and delightful! Their garlic green beans were some of the best I've ever eaten. Honestly, that was probably the best General Tso's chicken I've had in a long time. The la pi was interesting - great flavor - but slimy glass noodles are not for everyone. Staff is friendly, but you stretched a little thin - service was okay.

Yummy food! Truly a foodie joint. A Triple D (Diners, Drive-ins, & Dives) approved experience. The server was also the hostess and the bus person. Hardworking!

Have you ever been to a place that far exceeds your expectations? chin's kitchen is that place. I got some assistance when I first walked in, a client informed me to use the touch screen to log in and request a table. The place was thumping but I was seated quickly because I was alone and a 2 seat table was open. The menu is full but I cluttered, I watched huge portions on highly stacked plates come out of to the tables and everything looked great. My dish took a little time to arrive but boy was it amazing. Thick chewy delicious noodles with lots of shrimp chicken and beef. Way too much for one ! This place was a treat. If you are reading this put down your phone and run to Chins and have a wonderful dining experience.

Ordered the General Tso's... was essentially sweet and sour chicken, not spicy whatsoever and came with 4 very small florets of broccoli about 2 bites worth. Comes with no rice, the chicken is HEAVILY breaded. This is not the place for General Tso's cannot speak on the rest of the menu.

Delicious food. house made dumplings, and noodles, the best!! Great service , they give you recommendations and descriptions of the food, they take time to explain and go over the menu with you. Nice and familiar atmosphere.

Chin's Kitchen in Hollywood has been around for over 70 years. They still have their amazing old neon sign out front. They serve northeastern Chinese food, and are particularly known for their dumplings. So I'm glad they participated in the city wide promo known as dumpling week, which is when I stopped by most recently. Their interior is fairly unassuming - pleasant and clean. They were not busy when I went in at lunchtime, but it looks like they do a lot of takeout orders. Staff was spread thin but they did go out of their way to help me with a question which I really appreciate. I got dumplings and a tofu/vegetable dish. Both were just great. I would be happy to go back and get more, the flavors met my cravings. When you dine there, you'll see they are very proud to have been featured on the "From Authentic to Innovative" episode of Guy Fieri's Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. I'll need to go watch that episode - maybe they can throw a viewing party in the restaurant every so often!

Like most of the yelp's reviews seen Guy Fieri's drive-in show on food network and thought fun date nite with my wife. We arrived on Saturday night about 630pm and got a seat freshly turned for the next guest after a short wait. The place as packed with tons of to go orders like a conveyor belt. Think this hinders the table service at the front of the house. Order was fresh and hot we planned to try it all, dumplings their claim to fame and house made pulled noodle. Default is general Tao for us. The dumplings are the best I had I will admit but the rest, well not so great. The general Tao lacked vegetables but a few decorative pieces of broccoli and sauce was little next to none. Chicken was crunchy and dry. The chef's special noodles was so bland I realized the sauce was literally oil! Please reference the puddle of cooking oil in the photo. Fun date night but the food wasn't the highlight of the evening.

The fried rice's flavor was pretty muted..I prefer a little saltiness in my fried rice and it honestly had barely any salt? It tasted like plain rice with a little soy sauce and maybe oil flavor? Just not very aromantic in general.. I disliked the Mandarin Crispy Chicken the most as I had an issue with the breading. It was very thick and each bite felt more breading than chicken..The flavor of the sauce was good but with how thick the breading was, the inside of the chicken had no flavor at all once I bit in.. Perhaps we ordered the wrong items, but I don't think I'll be back to try any others at least for now. It was a Friday night so it was busy but I'll say service was good and we had a minimal wait time!

The smashed cucumber salad was super refreshing -- lots of garlic, crunchy, and exactly what you want after hours in the car. The green onion pancakes came out crispy and satisfying, but my favorite was the wood ear mushroom. They did something to it that made it insanely umami and savory, like a dish you keep thinking about later. The fried rice was solid and full of flavor, and you could tell the kitchen cared. The dining room was pretty empty when we went, so maybe it's newer or underrated, which feels unfair because the food deserves more people. Parking around there is kind of a hassle and the neighborhood isn't the prettiest, but this is a definite stop for me next time I'm in Portland.

Shoutout to everyone still working on Thanksgiving Day! Because of hardworking folks like you,…read morepeople who don't celebrate holidays like me can still eat out. I'm super grateful. Before coming, I did my homework and checked reviews on Chinese review website. The opinions were kinda extreme, some said it was terrible, others said it was amazing. Since it was only a 1 minute walk from my hotel and actually open on Thanksgiving, I went for it. I ordered jalapeño beef 小炒牛肉, veggie chow mein 蔬菜炒面, and string beans 干煸四季豆. The beef came out first, and the first bite surprised me. It didn't taste like the jalapeño beef from other Sichuan restaurants. It tasted exactly like Cantonese beef with gailan, but with green bell peppers instead. Instead of tingly spicy, it had a subtle sweetness. If you're Cantonese, you probably know exactly what I mean. The veggie chow mein was good and reminded me of late night street noodles in Guangzhou, and it also had a slightly sweet touch. The string beans were good too, and didn't have any sweetness. There was some savory minced pork in it. If you're not a strict vegetarian and don't mind a little meat in the dish as long as you only eat the veggie part, go for this one, it was flavorful. While having dinner, I overheard Cantonese in the kitchen between the chef and staff, and ahhh, that explains why I tasted the Cantonese flavor in my dishes! It also explains the two types of extreme reviews. So let me be honest, if you come here expecting the Sichuan/Hu'nan version of stir-fried beef with a strong spicy profile, you might be disappointed. But for me, it was honestly a lucky hit. I did see some Sichuan spicy dishes on the menu, but I didn't order them, so I can't say if they're authentic. But based on what I ordered tonight, I was happy with everything.
