Trail clearing of fallen trees that block access to the trail system. As you can see in the pictures it's not just some leisurely ride into the cascade mountains, it was work. But it was good work. Like a great CrossFit workout. Cutting these trees is all done with a hand saw, because you cannot use any gas or electrical equipment in the wilderness. In conjunction with the U.S. Forest service these trails get cleared and opened up for all hikers to enjoy. So if you're ever out there on these trails take time to think about how they got cleared of the trees you walk through when you see those cut logs laying there. And if you ever see the trail clearers thank them for what they do. Three peaks outfitters offer's day rides, overnighters and other great adventures including sleigh rides in the winter, providing there is snow.....

We borrowed some socks and shoes and went for both indoor/outdoor and a couple trails for about an hour and a half. We got to learn about each of the horses and I actually ended up learning a lot about how they take care of them and train them. Very knowledgeable information! They seem to be pretty busy but they were generous enough to squeeze us in. I would definitely recommend this place if you are ever visiting Yakima!

Everyone learns and helps get the horses ready before riding. Everyone is really nice. The horses are well-matched to the riders and generally behave well. The pricing is a *fantastic* value. But there are 2 catches: 1) The reservation system appears to be by phone only. There is an email on the site but I'm not sure it works. So it's sort of like 30 years ago. They are very nice, but you will probably have to leave a voicemail and be patient. 2) I'm skeptical that there are ever weekend openings. They seem to host group events on most weekends. So if you just want to take your family it's probably a weekday thing. So if you don't mind a little phone tag and taking a 2-hr drive out to Cle Elum, you are going to have a great morning horsing around!

They always made us feel welcome and would find horses suitable for all level of riders skill levels even when I came back years in 2018 when I was a lot more experienced and was put on a horse I had a BLAST with as well. Unlike some other barns that do not put their horses first you won't see any unhealthy or unloved horses here and the staff is amazing. I'm unsure if Penny still works there but I always looked forward to seeing her when I was younger and the crew she hired was always super knowledgeable and attentive on trail rides. I hope to be back to visit soon as we have moved back into the state. Christina is an amazing teacher! My 7 year old daughter has been taking lessons from her for a few…read moremonths now, after deciding she wanted to become a barrel racer (with no prior horse experience.) Christina is so kind and patient with her. She never pushes my daughter to do anything she's not comfortable with, but always encourages her to try! She breaks down how to do things in a way my daughter understands, and explains why they are done that way. Christina always leaves time for fun as well. I highly reccomend her if you or your child are interested in any kind of horse riding! We've also done a trail ride with Christina. She gives you a rundown of each horse's personality and quirks and helps you find who is best for you. The views were amazing and she took lots of pictures for us! She even brought cold waters for us to enjoy. She made sure to give us a heads up on any difficult parts of the trail and coached everyone through what to do. We had such a great time and I can't wait to go again!

Picture a day that was a little cloudy, fog in the hills, and the sound of a steam locomotive in the distance. Traveling up the single-track trail in the forest felt like we had gone back in time. Our guides were so great, so informative, and helpful. We chatted about just about everything, but mostly horses and how to interact with them. We learned more about horses in that hour then in our whole lives. Money well spent, experiences are everything, and Eztimes added a great one for us. Thanks everybody!

The horse was a perfect fit, calm and clearly experienced with young riders. They engaged her directly and talked to her, chatting like old friends. It truly turned our whole day around. They even let my 1 year old sit with her for a picture and one of the staff held him as they walked around, letting him pet and coo at the mare. Honestly one of the best experiences we had on the entire trip. It is worth it to drive to Elbe just for this place.

The horses were ready when we arrived and we learned their back stories and personalities before getting in the saddle. The ride was beautiful and the perfect way to spend a morning. Debbie shared local history and kindly guided us through the woods. My oldest was ecstatic to be on a "a regular size" horse as the lessons she has taken always had her on ponies. My 4 YO safely rode in front of me. I can't say enough good things. My almost 7 YO called it "the best birthday present ever!" And I have no doubt we'll be back for another ride.

The person pulling the sleigh gived you a little background on the ranch & horses. Thought it was cool that most horses come here from Montana & will go back after the season is over. It was a magical experience. There hadn't been much snow fall recently, but there was still enough for it to feel like a winter wonderland. After the ride is over, youre free to take photos with the horses & then head inside to get some hot cider & coffee. All the workers were really nice & welcoming. The one who was with us was born & raised in Hawaii, so it was nice to have a little piece of home with us on this ride. Such a cool experience, highly recommend.

Then, because the property is so small they have to crisscross back and forth across the same fields to be able to get 30 minutes in. You watch all the other sleighs crisscross like you're riding Autopia in Disneyland. The charm of a holiday sleigh ride in the snow just felt like an amusement park ride. Again, people, gear, and horses all great. Just the location is the only issue. I'd love to see them find a better location next season. Not sure how feasible that even is in the area. He is so positive and he is always introducing me to other people at the barn (mostly young adults/kids that ride at this barn). I met with a ton of instructors in the Snoqualmie Valley and I am so glad I chose Mt. Si Stables. I look forward to leasing my own horse here soon and spending more time with the Mt. Si crew.

I can't say enough about Mt Si stables and Tom Estes in particular. I have ridden my own horses…read morefor years but never had any formal training. I have had a lot of questions and a lot to learn about showing and formal riding. Tom has been a wealth of knowledge and patience and his life long love of horses is evident every time he steps in the barn. I have worked with 3 trainers over the past few years and have found Toms quiet but firm method to be very very successful with the Arabian/Saddlebred horse I am riding. Additionally, my 5 year old son who has been around horses all his life begged for lessons. Tom agreed to give him a half lesson and has been wonderful with my very talkative boy who spends at least half the time in the saddle telling the horse how much he loves her. It takes a patient and kind person to manage that. He trotted for the first time last week very nicely, is sitting properly and has a great position in the saddle. Amazing. This stable is not the newest, fancy place you can find but the facilities are always clean, secure and the horses are happy. (Frankly, all of the horses I have been around at the stable have had great manners etc.) I would suggest that anyone looking for a family friendly barn with a great expert trainer check out Mt Si Stables!
