When looking for things to do, sleigh rides popped up. Yes,horses pull the sled, not reindeer. When its your turn you hop up into the sleigh & are given blankets. The person pulling the sleigh gived you a little background on the ranch & horses. Thought it was cool that most horses come here from Montana & will go back after the season is over. It was a magical experience. There hadn't been much snow fall recently, but there was still enough for it to feel like a winter wonderland. After the ride is over, youre free to take photos with the horses & then head inside to get some hot cider & coffee. All the workers were really nice & welcoming. The one who was with us was born & raised in Hawaii, so it was nice to have a little piece of home with us on this ride. Such a cool experience, highly recommend. read more

We booked this horseback riding experience because of the great reviews, especially about how good they are with kids and how much the guide can make the trip. The booking process was easy - just a quick phone call to organize a date and time. They also gave us clear directions on what to bring and wear, which was helpful. Everyone we interacted with was nice, except unfortunately, our guide. Before the ride started, she came over to explain how to guide the horse. At the same time, my daughter became scared and started crying for me. I was trying to both listen to the instructions and comfort her, but the guide got frustrated and said, "You're not listening to me." I was really caught off guard by the lack of understanding. During the ride, the guide was mostly quiet and then got frustrated again with me for not getting the horse to speed up. At the end, they took a photo for us, but unfortunately the picture was blurry and you could barely make out our faces. I think this could have been a great experience with a different guide, especially based on the positive reviews. Just wish our experience had matched that same tone read more

Had the best sleigh ride we could have ever hoped for just this past weekend. It's just a short ride outside of Leavenworth and completely worth it. Everyone there was as friendly as you could ever hope for. Just as we got started on our journey a light snow started to fall, it was the cherry on top of the ride. Magical. The visit ended on a comical note when our 6 year old son asked for a picture with Ben. He looked up at Ben and said..."I remember you from Blippi!" and everyone in the office burst out laughing. Highly recommended! This was a planned family of four horse-ride but turned into two people instead: me (1st time rider) and my daughter (whose taken horse-riding lessons before). My nine year old ended-up backing out the last second and my husband stayed with him. The staff tried to allay my son's fears; tried to get him to pet the horse he was going to ride on while talking to him calmly and patiently the entire time, but no luck so my husband decided to stay behind with him. The owners were super understanding and according to my husband (whose never ridden either), they let him ride the horse in the pasture by himself for 10-15 minutes (after giving him instructions of course and with supervision), but my husband didn't want to pressure his horse because it was accustomed to following the other horses around during rides. He said the owners were even willing to give us partial refund, but my husband refused to accept- it is a business after all! Nevertheless, he enjoyed it he said. The horses were really friendly and sweet. They never strayed but would sometimes sneak in some eating of grass in certain areas, but with pulling up of the reins they snapped back into what they were supposed to be doing. Our guide, Riley, who rode in front of my daughter was super sweet as well. I could hear her chatting back-and-forth my with daughter during the entire ride who is a very reserved teen! We plan on coming back and riding with them for sure on our next visit. Their prices are much more affordable compared to the others in the area, longer rides, extremely friendly folks, and the added scenery is a plus! read more

The staff was very nice & helpful throughout the whole visit. Reservation only. Calling is easy to schedule a ride & a credit card is needed to secure the spot but it is not charged until the day of. I did the 5 mile ride & rode on Dunkin. He was very sweet and an excellent horse for a beginner rider like myself. The ride was a bit bumpy and steep at parts - dirt gets thrown up and you get quite dusty throughout the ride. The ride itself was pretty and I was told there was a 500ft elevation change. While we were told to bring blankets, they had blankets for us that helped us keep warm (although at 26 degrees, we also had winter coats, gloves and hats to help us). Everything about our experience was satisfying. The drive-in was beautiful. The wood-heated hospitality space was homey. The teamsters were super friendly and informative. It was snowing, so it added that classic sleigh ride experience. I wish it had been a little longer even though it was only 10 degrees. Blankets were much appreciated. We looked at 4 different options for sleigh rides in the area. I decided on Eagle Creek because of the location and the recommendation of our landlord, who is a Leavenworth local. We all agreed it was a great choice. This was our Christmas gift for our kids and their spouses, but it almost did not happen. The weather kept switching on us. First, we changed days because of a forecast of rain, then the temperatures unexpectedly dipped into the single digits because is not safe for the horses to pull at those temps. They shut down for two days, but Jared did everything he could to get us in on a cancellation. I cannot say enough about how much I appreciated his great communication throughout the whole process, emailing and calling repeatedly to break the "bad news" and offer hope and his willingness to cheerfully keep picking up the phone as we worked through possibilities. read more

Our horses were well kept, very pretty, and super sweet and polite. They let us pet them and take photos after the ride. We could also record during the sleigh ride. Very disappointed in the ranch. We came with expectations from the pictures. 18$ per person is quite a steep price. We expected that it was a kept property! It is not. We grew up on a ranch and dirt isn't the issue!!! It looked as if there should be a run down mobile home park surrounding this place. A dirty nasty couch on the front porch. First time horseback riding. Didn't realize how easy it is, but I'm guessing it was easy because the horses seemed to be very well trained on the 1 mile route we took. Days have been fairly warm, so scheduled a earlier time to adventure out. The trail is mostly through the forest, so the temperature was perfect. Just went with jeans and a t-shirt. Guide was very entertaining. Entire staff was friendly and very concern with safety. If you do not have a helmet, they have some onsite. Our party of five had a blast on a recent Saturday morning. We did the 5 mile ride, one 'newbie' and four semi-regular western style riders. We rode Caesar, Odin, Duncan, Poco and Buddy. The owner was great in explaining how they saddle up according to our unique height/weight as well as skill. Read the detailed info on company website to be prepared (no back packs on ride, etc) I planned the group's activity, but I was also a first time rider. Our guide Brianna was super attentive and professional. She gave tips for the different sections of the trail (riding up the trail "shift your weight this way for the benefit of your horse", etc.), while Susan answered all the horse and trail questions! This was the best thing we experienced while visiting Leavenworth. Honestly, pictures can't do it justice. My family and I felt like we were in a different world we never knew existed - it was from an old Christmas fable with Curried and Ives scenes everywhere you turned. When I left Seattle in late May, it was a rainy day. Over in Leavenworth, it was warm and beautiful. I took the 1 hr ride up the mountain. You do get to the top pretty quick where the view is amazing and you're up high looking down at the ranch. I've only been on a horse once before when I was about 5 years old. Fast forward 40 years and I still got it! Our guide gave great instructions. Still, the first few minutes, it was like I had sea legs. After that, it was an easy, gentle scenic ride. I went here for the sleigh ride in the winter not the horseback riding. They really are all about the rides because the ranch house or log cabin is pretty gross and they only have porta-potty for bathrooms outside. They offer free cider and cocoa and some seating around a wood burning stove for heat. The sleigh is a simply wooding sleigh with the bench seating facing inwards. You will be turning or cranking your neck if you want to look out the side of the sleigh you are sitting on. The path the take is one big loop that does involve riding in a open field and partially in the woods. It is very beautiful landscape wise and you will not be dissapointed by the views of the mountains surrounding you. It is far enough from town that it will be very serene and quiet. The sleigh driver was very friendly and will do her best to answer any questions you have about the two horses pulling the sleigh, the sleigh itself, or the area. We were sharing the sled with two other families and everyone had a great time. If I do another sleigh ride I would try one that has a fancier sleigh. It's nothing like what you would see in a hallmark movie that is for sure. But the price is reasonable and the ride takes about 40 mins. For a large group or family its a perfect way to spend time together outdoors enjoying the little winter wonderland that Leavenworth is! read more
