Not good. after 2hours was ready to call it quits, but we we were not able to cancel our 4 hour rental. The driver was not a good communicater, he talked all the time. We expected him to ask us what we wanted to do in the water, he did not do that. We expected the water "toys" would be at the boat launch, they were not, so all we did is ride around the lake. Some of us wanted to be pulled behind the boat, but nothing was provided. Not a good experience. I'd give it 1 star, or lower. read more

Super great spot. If this isn't your first option for all rental/excursion needs you are WRONG. They have the best prices in town, well maintained (new) equipment, amazing customer service and all around a smooth and easy experience. I scheduled for two singles all day and Sean, the owner, made it flexible for my group. Not only did he give me a free upgrade for two doubles for half of the day in the morning, he upgraded me again for the 2nd half and gave me 3 singles! He easily could have charged a few hundred dollars more but didn't even hesitate to hook me up. 2nd of all I got one of his snowmobiles stuck on some thick ice off trail and his son came to get me out within 15 minutes no sweat. 3rd, my sister in law lost her goggles and when I reported the loss to Sean he said to not sweat it even after I'd insisted to pay for the loss. All around a strong small business, run by his family and just a great experience. 10/10 THANK YOU AGAIN! read more

This place is awesome. A friend and I have wanted to try snowmobiling for awhile. We initially picked this place as it had the best prices. When we arrived we were immediately welcomed by a ton of dogs who were all super friendly. We walked into the building to find a super stocked and comfortable environment. They had every piece of gear you could need... boots, gloves, snowsuits, goggles, and helmets. The owner was super kind to us and got us on the sleds super quick. The Sleds and trails were in great condition and the owner went over everything we needed to know. As beginners I did manage to get stuck so bad I could get the sled out. I took another sled back to the rental place and they immediately sent up a team to get us out. No charge for the service when I know the neighbors charge $100 for recovery. They welcomed us into the family, fed us and made us feel at home . We will be going back in a couple weeks to go snowmobiling again and will be back this summer to rent jet skis and boats. I 100% have never been to an establishment with this great of service. Anyone trying to decide where to rent this is the place!!! read more

THIS PLACE IS INCREDIBLE!!! Sean and his sons know everything there is about the mountains! They are also amazing riders and we had so much fun watching them. We ended up going two days in a row! We came with a small group of people and we had a great time. It was scary as we are from Michigan and it is a whole different type of riding but we didn't ever feel unsafe and our group kept an eye on us girls. It seems as though everybody looks out for one another when you're riding. I would recommend this spot to anyone, as they clearly know their stuff and care about your time on the mountain. We had such a great experience renting our kayaks here! We had some young teens with us, and he threw in a paddle board because he knew they would like it, and he was right! They crew was very friendly and helped us load everything up. Their prices were reasonable, more so than the place across the street from them. We will be repeat customers for sure! read more

It is definitely a 'no frills' experience ('check in' office is dirty/well worn, was suggested we could walk ~2 miles to the drop off point) and we didn't feel 100% safe with 4 kids at the "beach." We had a blast renting snowmobiles from Cascade Playtime. We called the morning of to see if we could rent snowmobiles that afternoon. They were able to accommodate us no problem. They were also the only place open on a Tuesday. The guys there are helpful and to the point. They won't sugar coat the experience you're about to have. He told us straight up 'Expect to get stuck.' Due to the amount of snow that fell overnight, and rain that morning, the snow was deep and some areas a slushy mess. Luckily one of the guys went with us a guide. He was extremely helpful and awesome - took us up to some scenic areas and pushed us beyond our comfort zone on the snowmobiles. All in all, it was an amazing experience and I would definitely go back to Cascade Playtime. read more

One word to describe our whole experience, HOSPITALITY!! The whole crew here makes you feel at home, we traveled across the US and decided last minute to rent snow mobiles. These guys stuck us on brand new machines and pointed us in the direction of an unbelievably beautiful trail. Definitely the highlight of our trip. What a GREAT experience! It was my first time out on a snowmobile and I had ABSOLUTE blast. Shawn and the staff were super friendly, easy going and very helpful in getting our group all set up for a half day ride. Gear was provided (loved the insulated suit) and the sleds were easy to use. My absolute go-to for paddle boards and other Rec. Activities. These guys are beyond kind and relaxed, makes for such a good experience and so much less stress. Always has been a great deal financially. The rentals are of course used but if you want shiny new stuff just go across the street and pay double-triple for less time with your rentals. These guys supply you with so much info on where to go and what to do! They have helped us find our favorite spots. Bonus points for their friendly dogs always hanging around! Based on their website, we expected much more. The customer service was virtually non existent, the rentals were not organized and I believed my husband and I accidentally ended up taking kayaks that a family reunion group had rented for the day. The beach we needed to go to was not well marked and we wasted time trying to find it. The beach was rocky and had zero shade. Would recommend a vehicle with decent clearance to access it as well. At least we got the kayak and enjoy the lake for a bit. Way over priced though - I can't imagine wanting to spend the whole day at that beach. Wish they had a three hour rental or something, would be way more worth it. read more

I would have given this place 5 stars if it wasn't for the owner's youngest son. The owner,Shawn, was respectful and very kind. His older son Brock was also very nice and explained everything to us, great customer service and communication from both of them. The pontoon boat we paid for ended up needing repairs so they let us use another pontoon boat and threw in a free jet ski rental for the two days we were renting! Once we docked the boat on the second day the youngest son drove down the rocky hill so fast . He seemed aggressive and upset about something before even speaking to us, he told us we didn't know how to park the pontoon boat even though we were doing exactly as instructed by Brock. We tried to de-escalate the situation multiple times but he was so rude and disrespectful, that boy lacked decency and he should not be working with customers. It's a shame that Shawn and his business has to be affected negatively due to his son's behavior and how he treats people. Nonetheless it was a good experience except for the interaction with the Owners youngest son. read more

My family had a crazy time with this business. We were promised things we didn't receive, and it was hard to moor the boats without damaging them. It's not well set up for easy access to the boats. Older family members had to walk down a very rocky hill to a rocky shore-- there is no dock. The porta potties very much needed to be serviced and one had no door. We enjoyed our time on the lake but felt that the business lacked professionalism and was sketchy. read more

The owner was friendly and helpful but definitely had opinions about what we should rent (strongly discourages a double snow mobile, in a gruff, yet endearing sort of way). We listened to his recommendation and went with 2 singles and had a great time. He gave us a deal even though we had upgraded vehicles. The snowmobiles we had were new and had crazy power! Had an amazing time. We saw one of his sons on the trail with another group and he checked on us to make sure all was okay when we were stopped for a break. Appreciated that small gesture. My only constructive feedback is that the shop is quite a mess inside. Could use a major clean up and scrub down because it has great bones and cool details but it all gets lost in the mess. read more

Wow!! What a place and what great people! Our group originally tried to rent elsewhere but, thankfully, that place could/would not accommodate us. We were quite thankful for this. Sean(shaun?), the owner, is just a great dude, and his staff (made up of friends and family) couldn't have been any nicer. This was our first time and they made it fun and exciting rather than adding to any anxiety we may have had over this activity. In addition, and unlike the other location, Cascade has all the equipment you could ever need all there for a very reasonable daily rental rate. I just can't say enough about how great they were! In fact, Sean initially discouraged us from doing a full day. As he acknowledged "I'm talking myself out of $, but I think you'll get enough in 4 hours". Well, after 2 Hours, we called to extend because we were having too much fun, and Sean accommodated no problem. About 2 hours before our day was up, one of the units refused to start. We called Sean and he sent one of his sons out to our location on the mountain and then his son just swapped us for his unit so we could get on with our day. When we went to settle up at the end of our day, since we had only paid for the 1/2 day initially, Sean refused to take any additional money. He said "well, you paid for 1/2 and then added on the 2nd half so you owe us a bit but then you had issues with one of the units, so we'll call it even. You guys are good guys and I'm sure we'll square up next time, no problem" before then inviting us to eat or drink as we pleased from his open (meaning no charge kitchen. Man! It's been a LONG time since I've encountered a quality business owner like this and I will speak his/their praises to anyone who will listen and I will absolutely be recommending them to any and all who I know will be in the area. Oh, and, of course, my crew will be back! UPDATED 1/15/2020 We were BACK and had an even better time this year! We had a solid crew of 6 and had a BLAST yet again. Sean and his boys do an amazing job of taking care of their customers like family. We couldn't have had more fun in the snow, all geared up with the equipment sean provided, and then, after we were done, we kicked back on the couches for some NFL action, feeling as comfortable as we would in our own homes. Second, this group has access to their own property on the lake, allowing for a very private and not-so-busy waters for activity, they even bring the equipment for you to the water. We rented 3 snowmobiles from them this weekend. It was our first time. The people who run this place are great. They made everything really easy. We just showed up and they had everything we need for snomobilin': helmets, shoes, snow suit, gloves, etc. If you pay the $40 for optional insurance they throw in all the clothes and a tank of gas which is all you need for a day. They gave us a very brief but sufficient little talk about how the snowmobile works and where to go, etc ... then we were on our way. It was really fun. read more

Had an absolute blast snowmobiling and at a great value. We were treated like family by Shaun and his team which includes his family. My friends and I (army vets) did an 8 hr day. I wouldnt recommend doing that long of a day unless you are fully prepared to brave the elements and in pretty decent physical condition. Bring what you would need to stay cozy out in the wilderness (high energy snacks, extra socks, hand warmers etc.) They have most of everything you would need at the shop, but do prepare before hand. Also, another tip is if this is your first time familiarize yourself with the local trails, we downloaded a snowmobile app which allowed us to really go deep into the trails. After our long day, upon returning to the shop Shaun had dinner, drinks, hot-hot wood stove and great conversation. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be back someday. read more

We walked in and rented a jet ski at this place and I would have to say, I am really satisfied! The owner went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and accommodated! He loaded the jetskis onto his huge truck and then led us to a secluded/private area of the lake where you pretty much have the whole shore to yourself. The water was warm and refreshing, the view was amazzzing. It was my first time riding one and I'm looking forward to coming back! I don't have any complaints. The jetski was in good condition and the owner was hospitable. He even insisted and actually brought us a whole cooler of drinks when he found out we didn't bring drinks (oops) which I really thought was very generous and nice of him. He came back every now and then to check on us to see if everything was okay. Side note: DO NOT start the jet skis in shallow water! You will get rocks in them and damage them and pay for the damage! The family who rented a couple jet skis before us managed to do that to both of them! Ouch on the pocket there! We parked our jetski to get food from our cabin and when we got back they were gone and their jet skis were just sitting there. I thought that maybe they got hungry too and left for a little bit but a few hours passed & they never came back. The owner later on told us what happened.
