i Parked my 2006 Honda crv in a parking lot at 21090 Golden Springs Dr. Walnut Ca. 91789 (behind Bob's Big Boy restaurant) @ 6:49am and towed @ 8:30am. I am not disputing my misunderstanding of my parking. I am disputing the basic claim that i discovered via research. See the following: California vehicle code section 22650-22711 (n) A vehicle removed from private property pursuant to this section shall be stored in a facility that meets the following requirement: (1)(A) is located within a 10 mile radius of the property from where the vehicle was removed. My calculation, based on Google Maps was 11.9 miles. I contacted the local Sheriff station and they confirmed they had no specified agreement with Chino Towing Company in regards to distance. After a few faxed letters to Lakeview Property Management, they have agreement with Chino Tow, the informed me to contact Chino Tow Company. the un-named representative would not allow me to speak with the owner. After a few calls he informed me i was shit out of luck because he talked to the owner and the owner said - go ahead and sue. He boasted that my claim of 11.9 miles was based on MY calculation and that the actual distance is 10.2 miles. I told him thanks and ended call. Vehicle Code states Within 10 miles...10.2 miles is a.2 mile violation. I believe I should be reimbursed the $330 i paid. my complaint has been submitted to California State Consumer Affairs UPDATE - 9/6/2013 These ignorant folks have refused voluntary mediation with calif state consumer affairs so looks like I'll be filing a claim through small claims court - hopefully get 4 x my 330.00. read more

I wish Yelp had a "zero star rating" option because this company definitely does not even deserve one star. I sympathize with the previous reviewer after having experienced a frustrating situation. My mom's car was towed by this godforsaken douchebag company just yesterday, along with 6 other cars that were in the lot at Hanam Chain. Everyone suspected predatory towing as there had been previous news reports published in the past. (*Also, the Hanam Chain property owner is huge ass****. Or so I've heard.) Upon arriving at the office, an unhelpful employee demanded $250 to release our car. They accepted cash only (one of the red flags for an illegal towing company) and escorted us half a block to a fenced lot where they kept all the impounded vehicles. I found it strange that all the other 5-6 cars were parked with their headlights facing our way, but only our car was parked facing the opposite way. I didn't think much of it at first, but in hindsight, I realized that the driver of the tow truck didn't want the obvious damages to show. We freaked out and I immediately called the cops and demanded to speak with the manager to exchange insurance information. Not only was my request denied, the employee did not give me the company's insurance information. "I don't know" is not a legit excuse. This totally validates my judgment of their poor and unprofessional staff and business. To make a long story short, my mom's car was claimed under the collision coverage and the rough estimate for the damages is around $10,000. I cannot even take this to a small claims court because the damages exceed $5,000. If in fact this company does not take full liability, we are considering to sue. Please people... know your rights as a consumer/ vehicle owner and educate yourselves in predatory towing. Don't be a victim. If you fall as one, then complain to authorities and fight until they (towing companies) admit liability. read more

Scammers! Report to the police if you find your car missing in front of Market World. This place takes your car before your three hour customer limit. How is that even reasonable? The sheriffs office knows about this, but they don't want to take responsibility for this issue. Big Bob is not even in business anymore, so obviously they are just predators that use another business' name to make an excuse for themselves. We parked our car at 10:00am and they towed the car at 11:00am ... not sure what you think, but these people haven't seemed to learn to count yet. I'm sure you can read more reviews of this this kind about this company, but the worst part is the so called service. This is a scam!! I also parked outside of the Hanna world market and my car was towed in one hour. They have someone watching you in the parking lot. I parked my car there and went on my husbands car to carpool to run some errands. When we came back, he dropped me off at the front entrance. I went directly into the market not even noticing my car was gone. When I came out of market with full basket of food, I noticed my car was towed. This towing company does not have an office. It was a guy worked everything in the van outside of the locked gate. He charged me $270 bcoz I was driving a good car. I will take this company to court. Do not call this company for service!!!! Saw the driver getting aggressive people on their bikes off the road on Schaefer Ave this morning around 10am. He even sped the tow truck right on the bike lane to block the bike lanes that were forming ahead prior to regular lanes. Apparently this guy doesn't know that people are allowed to be on their bikes on the road despite not having a bike lane (CVC21200 and CVC 21202). Honked for a good 0.5 mile and throwing middle finger gestures. Caught up to the bikes and talked to them about what happened. They said the guy was angry that they were on the road and told them they cannot be on the road or else he was going to hit them with his truck. One of the guys explained to him that bikes are allowed to be on the road but the guy was having none of it. He sped off when one of the guy called the police and ask him if he wants to ask the police himself about the rules and law of the road. The bikers said some people don't know and are ignorant in assuming they are wrong so they deal with this type of behavior on a daily basis, but people are rarely super aggressive about it. To my surprise my car was towed and like the other people I had to pay $330.00to have my car back . The Manager at Bob's Big Boy Restaurant told they are loosing business because of this practice. Same story like the others!! My car got towed at the parking lot of Hannam Supermarket, located at 21080 Golden Springs Dr, Walnut, CA 91789. I got there at 11:15AM and They towed my car at 12:15PM. Two guys from this towing company worked together with a homeless guy for this Scam. When I looked for my car at the parking lot, I spotted them was towing another car. I went up ask them, one guy admitted it that they towed my car away. I tried to ask questions about this matter. The guy pretended know nothing and asked me to question the person who stood at the parking lot entrance by a tree who dressed like a homeless with a black backpack. I was told by the Chino Towing, it was that guy who works for the owner of this parking lot who called them. When I tried to asked the homeless questions, he didn't try to speak nor answer my questions. He told me to sue them or call the police if I want and say F*** you while I walked back to the towing truck. I believed their business is very bad. They scam people to keep their business open. They are Scammers and the person (homeless) was not worked for the owner of this lot. When I asked him the phone # of the owner of this parking lot, he didn't say a word. I believed they were a team for this whole thing. This is my first Yelp review. I don't normally a review person, but I have to say something to warn people about this Chino Towing. I ended up pay $245.00 to get my car back. By the way, the place was just a junk lot with old broken cars with a fence gate. I didn't even get into the office if there was one. Can back in less than 3 hours and my car was gone..had to call..go to chino..guy wasn't even there..he gave me a little discount because I was paying cash and I PD $220 ....THIS A SCAM!!! I noticed a car parked behind big boys when I left..and it hadn't been towed... My dad parks in the area of the market and goes on those turn around a and never got towed. After reading the other reviews, I decided to write one of my own. I recently had my car Towed by Chino Towing and at first I was pissed! But I was pissed at myself for being in such a hurry that I didn't read the signs! In fact, I actually parked in front of a sign, so it was clearly my fault! $260 Lesson learned! As a business owner myself, I understand parking is limited in shopping centers and in all honesty this place was totally Packed at 12:06pm when I returned! I give them a 5 star rating because since this happened I have noticed that most shopping centers have only 1 sign at each entrance and these guys have at least 50 signs placed all over! this was one of by far the best experiences I've had with a tow company. I had my car towed from Hannam and unlike everyone else complain I understood I was at fault and upon picking my car up, the gentlemen were very fast and nice in releasing me my vehicle. I could tell it was a good old fashion mom and pop shop. As for the complaint about the yard being far away that is bull cause it was in the complex next to the shop you just had to walk around because there are other businesses in the same complex as the office. I parked behind Bobs Big Boy on Golden Springs Dr in Walnut, went into Bob's and the market, came out and met my husband, left his car to run an errand, came back LESS than 3 hours later and the car was gone. An employee of Bob's said they were towing cars and pointed out the person sitting in a car watching and calling for the tows. My husband approached him and he denied it, then we called the sheriff and were given the number of the towing company, and when we went back to that car he was gone. Went to the towing company, had to pay $240 to get the car, and then went to a small lot and got the car. This is the biggest scam and they are just sitting there watching and then towing even though it's within the 3 hour time period. The office and tow yard are more than 10 miles away. It's predatory towing and needs to stop. The car was towed illegally and there doesn't seem to be anything you can do about it but pay if you want your car back! THIS IS A SCAM! read more

The experience that i had leads me to believe Chino Towing is a predatory towing company - i was parked in the parking lot of Home Depot in Pomona (towne st) . Rented a truck from Home Depot, left car parked there in Home Depots lot. was away for a couple of hours, when I returned Chino Towing was attempting to tow my car. Checked with Home Depot - they are in complete agreement with me - they did not request the tow and furthermore anything in their lot is off limits. Chino Towing was clearly in violation. read more
