    Pork crispy bun

Amazing. Flavor of both types of buns are incredible, super flavorful. Worth the wait for the pan fried buns! Buns are fluffy too. Pan fried has a nice crisp. Perfect. Pickled cabbage bun was a little skimpy on filling but so juicy.

Every time when I come to Richmond BC, I always visit this bao spot. Remind me of home. Still as good as I remembered. Quick and friendly aunties. Speak Chinese and broken English. Their bao safe juicy and freshly made. Only thing I wouldn't get in their menu is their cucumber salad. It was plain. Being cash prefer if you're not living in Canada.

We came to Yaohan centre to check out their food court and for my mom to grab a few things before heading back to the states. The lady was busy and wasn't very helpful or friendly. We wanted to get a quick sweet tofu for dessert so ordered the one with red bean on top - mistake #1 cause the red beans were burnt and just tasted like smoke on top of the tofu. There wasn't enough sugar if you don't get an even bite of tofu and beans, though the beans weren't really edible. Should've ordered the traditional tofu dessert with ginger sugar syrup instead. The bowls were huge but also very overpriced for what they were. Wish service was a bit more friendly as well. They're located in the food court so lots of food court seating available. Would probably find a better tofu dessert place and skip out on this one next time.

Shanghai style steamed buns and dumpling place inside Yaohan. Parking is available in the Yaohan lot. Heard this place was advertised somewhere (Chinese media) recently. Guess the hype worked. There was a steady pile of people in front of the counter the entire time I was in the food court (several hours in the evening). In fact the staff were overwhelmed. The place also serves tofu (savoury and sweet) dishes, but everyone was there for the buns and dumplings. The food took over 20 minutes to show up. Those uncles and aunties in the production area were going full tilt. Must have sore hands by the end of the day. I had both the steamed buns and dumplings. The buns were thicker than I'd like (as in the distance between the filling and the exterior). The filling was also a bit on the small side. However, the soup inside was delicious. The dumplings are pretty standard stuff. I could sit here and eat them all day. Beautiful. Wouldn't mind coming back. Hopefully they manage to increase production to reduce the lineup. Recommended.

    Buns one of each kind

We came on a Monday and the line was really long. We quickly jumped in line and ordered one of each available bun and a fried dough stick. The pork bun and the pork bun with salted veggies tasted identical except one has more salted veggies. The beef bun was very dry and disappointing. The fried dough stick was still warm when we got it. It was crunchy not crispy and very doughy. It isn't your typical Cantonese style dough stick but instead northern style (like their buns). The dough of their buns is similar to hot pot hero which has locations in China world and in Parker Place food court. It's not fluffy. Just plain and not thick. The filling is less salty than hot pot hero but also less juicy and fatty. Overall wouldn't go back for their buns as the filling was dry. I would go back to try their soups and dumplings - will keep you posted on this.

Long line at lunch and takes a long time to get your order but it's worth it. Super fresh, everything made from scratch. Best pan fried baozi I've had. Dumplings were also fantastic and I haven't had home made since my grandma. First time I've tried a savory version of the silken tofu and it was delicious

I really like the meat baozi place at Parker Place and saw on Chinese social that this one was similar so I had to give it a try. Unfortunately the beef one I tried was kind of disappointing. :( Flavour was ok, and there was some juice, but there seemed to be more onions as filler and the meat was kind of dry. Maybe less meat inside too. I also tried their Chao Shou (Sichuan Spicy Wonton in Red Oil) which was not bad. Generous portion with tasty filling and less spicy than usual, though it was missing some other kick. Maybe a bit more vinegar? At most I'd come back to try the pork bao instead but that's about it.

This place is CASH only for now. I paid with american dollar since I didn't have any Canadian money. I love this place. I tried wonton with spicy sauce, pork Bao and boiled pork dumplings and EVERYTHING WAS FRESH. It took 20-30 min to get the food. I suggest order here first and go to the supermarket to do quick shopping. The owner told me they will install the credit card machine next week.

In fact, the multi year transformation that its currently undergoing makes it less of a traditional mall and more of a mini city that has spawned into a mixed-use commercial district. Their use of natural lighting all throughout the space makes it an ideal place for a photo in any corner. In addition to the space, many stores have stepped in with a good number that are high-end to appease all of the new money coming into the city of Richmond. It has become a leisurely destination for families and teenagers as folks roam the mall from corner to corner. One of the most significant transformations has been their food court, which has been dubbed the DiningTERRACE and features a number of food and drink spots. The only downside has been the mediocrity of most spots, which has plenty of room for improvement. Parking is also a mess, especially during the weekend. Folks are constantly competing for space and camping out has become a necessity during their busiest times. As many skyscrapers have been built nearby and it's proximity to the metro rail, this place will only serve to be busier as time goes on. ____________ (#1) 18 years has flown by.

The seating situation can also be a bit challenging, especially during busy hours, since the dining area is shared with several other eateries. You might have to walk around for a bit or wait for someone to leave before grabbing a table. But honestly, the food made up for it. The satay beef and fluffy egg sandwich was the highlight for me. The beef had plenty of flavor, the satay sauce was tasty, and that soft, fluffy egg went really well with everything. The bread was soft too, and the whole sandwich just worked. Definitely had that legit Hong Kong-style comfort food taste I was hoping for. Overall, I really enjoyed my meal here. Seating might take a little patience, but once you get your food, it's worth it. I'd definitely come back, especially for that satay beef and egg sandwich!

We decided to order take out and enjoy it at home to avoid the crowds of people. Service was quick and the large menu with pictures displayed outside the stall was helpful. All the food in the picture came out to less than $40 which is a decent deal in this time and age. I liked the broth of my macaroni soup as it was well seasoned, but not heavy at all. My boyfriend ordered satay beef vermicelli and it was flavourful and satisfying. The scrambled egg toast is a must if you love soft runny eggs between bread. It's simple stuff that can be done at home if you're really craving it, but the convenience definitely hits...That, and a couple cups of yuenyeung to save the day.

It does have anchor tenants at all sides, so remember where you come in from. What I appreciate about this mall is the prices at the food court. I'm not sure if there is an agreement or something, but most of the food operators have at least a couple of items under $10, making it very affordable. Some even sell coffee or tea at under $2. You do see many elderly Asians here, maybe that's why there is cheaper options? They do occupy the tables at the food court chatting for a long period of time. Think of this as another version of Timmies, but with more food options. I was told the T&T here is the largest and it is busy at all hours. The parking area near it is always full. Park elsewhere where it has more empty spots. I like this Asian mini mart (Smart Save) where you can get many food stuff from Asia that are not available in T&T. There is also Langley Farm Market here which has nice produce. There are also Daiso, Dollarama, JYSK, Forum home appliances, etc here. Interesting mix of tenants.
