At the time the carrier had a promotion that we could get $70 each cash back after signing up for the plan. When we waited for a couple of months and didn't see any cash back we went back there to inquire. They told us to leave our invoice there and come back later for the credit to be processed. When we went back unfortunately this place was closed for the day. Therefore we went back another day but they just downright denied having anything to do with us. When I tried to explain the situation (I talk a little bit fast) this middle aged guy there just MOCKED me, and blabbered gibberish in a overly dramatic faux-female high pitched voice instead of helping. How can you work in the service industry and be so downright RUDE?? I later called the store multiple times asking to speak to the manager so I could file a complaint against this guy, but of course they never cared. From that point on I only go to actual branches of the carrier instead of a middleman like this. While they are also difficult to deal with, at least those people are "legit" and are slightly nicer. I wish more people could be warned about this place, but sadly I feel like most of their customers are very Chinese and thus probably won't look at my review.

Went in with a broken screen on an iPhone 15 pro. This place advertised $200 to fix it - nice! Found out when I got there, that meant "aftermarket screen" not a genuine apple one (those are $450, way higher than going to the apple store for $330). But okay, he flashed me his and said it was an aftermarket one that worked, so I went with that. When I picked it up, it looked... ok? But their credit card reader was "broken" so they required that I pay via zelle, cashapp or apple cash - convenient payment options so that you can't call your credit card company to reverse transactions for their crappy products and services. Less than 48 hours later, the screen was coming off the phone and light was leaking out the top and sides, it was heating up a lot and after comparison with my partner's iPhone, I noticed it was much dimmer and more green/blue than the real apple screen. I went in today to get a refund, literally less than 2 days after getting it "fixed." The guy there agreed that it was not working and that the screen was coming off, but said they'd thrown away my old screen (so that I couldn't switch it out on the spot, convenient) and without taking the (broken, crappy) screen off my phone, they couldn't even give me a PARTIAL refund. Needless to say, I didn't want to walk out of the shop with a screenless phone and a partial refund. They also offered to put a genuine apple screen on if I paid another $250 on top of the $210 I'd already paid and waited a few days for them to order it (MIND YOU - THE APPLE STORE DOES THIS SAME DAY FIX FOR $330). Also wasn't particularly keen on having them do any other work on it, given the shoddy prior work. Pleaded with him for a bit but no luck. But hey, the guy there agreed if I brought back the screen after getting it fixed at the actual apple store, he'd give me a partial refund. He also assured me that apple would give me the (broken, crappy) screen after they put a real one on it. Okay - off to the apple store. But lo! It turns out when you bring apple a phone with a (broken, crappy) aftermarket screen, in order to fix it they require the (broken, crappy) aftermarket screen to be thrown away! No luck getting it back for my partial refund. Almost like the guy knew that was the case when he sent me away... So $330 at Apple plus this scammy place's $210 later I fixed a slightly cracked screen. TL;DR don't go here, they will scam you with their crappy products and no credit card option. No evidence but wouldn't at all be surprised if the positive reviews are fake - obviously not a 4.9 experience.

But most recently I brought them a Pixel 8 with a cracked screen. They replaced it, but it wasn't properly sealed, so when I dropped my previously waterproof phone in the sink for a second, it flooded and was ruined. They refused to give me my money back, did not apologize, told me that "everybody knew" replacement screens weren't waterproof, and then were jerky on the phone. Had I known the replacement screen wasn't waterproof, I would have done what I suddenly had to do anyhow: buy a new phone. They did offer to see if they could get the data back, but once again didn't contact me with any updates. I eventually went in to get the phone back, but again there was no data, no apology, and certainly no refund. Next time I'll see if I can find a place that will at least answer their email and keep me updated on repairs.

Reception is standard except when you go into the boonies. My cell doesn't work in Indiana, Mississippi or Southern Illinois. At Hyde park I was greeted at the door, welcomed in, the entire environment was a shift of professionalism. My sister had no problem doing hers in Lincoln park and actually had their rep offering us help because of the lack of assistance we were getting at our location. At Roosevelt, Yusef, who helped my family, had attitude from the start, walked away multiple times while our process was still unfinished (he didn't want to stand with our group so he'd go hangout with the store manager and other employees and we'd have to call him back over to keep going, it wasn't to help another guest which would have been more understandable than just socializing when he had a customer), and ultimately he could not figure out how to return my phone so I left the store with 2 phones and had to come back the next day. The store manager, who was there both days, and who Yusef kept walking away to chat with, never stepped in to offer any assistance with my family. Between the gossip she was hearing from Yusef, and seeing my family get increasingly distressed after having been there 3 hours, a manager making face might have been a good impression. Really really poor customer service, which is really I guess mostly what they are there for, since they require you to do everything in store yourself through the T-Life app.
