I ordered the Family Pack yesterday, fried rice (pork or chicken), wonton soup or egg drop, three egg rolls or crab rangoon, and from a provided list you're to choose two quart-size entrées. I opted for crab rangoon (bc theres pork in the egg rolls and I don't eat pork), wonton soup, chicken fried rice, general tso's chicken (extra spicy), shrimp & broccoli (extra spicy). I requested utensils such as plates and forks - did not receive. I ordered this via Uber Eats. I called Chinatown to ask if I could change the wonton soup to chicken & rice soup since I don't eat pork - the woman said "NO! You can't change the soup on a Family Pack." I said ok and hung up, but was disappointed, as I was paying just over $50 for the delivery - the Family Pack was $38.95, plus tax $2.73, Uber Service Fee $4.50, a delivery fee if $0.49, and a tip. I found it odd that the woman knew I didn't eat pork, knew I was paying upcharges for the delivery and yet she couldn't accommodate me by exchanging my soup. Disappointing and rude. She didn't even offer to have me pay the difference for the chicken & rice soup. While the crab rangoon and general tso's chicken were ok (not amazing) - the chicken fried rice wasn't fried rice. I'm from Queens, New York - I know good Chinese food. The rice was a shade darker than plain white rice and had no flavor, just onions and chicken, no veggies, no egg, nothing. The shrimp & broccoli wasn't very good - the shrimp did not taste fresh or even fresh/frozen - the texture in my mouth wasn't appealing. It arrived in a gel-like brown sauce. As per my request of making the general tso's and the shrimp & broccoli extra spicy - that did NOT happen. It almost seemed like the shrimp & broccoli were frozen as a dish and then quickly thawed out to serve. I am beyond disappointed in the food and service and will not be back, nor do I recommend this restaurant to anyone for authentic Chinese food! read more

Very disappointed given some reviews. Food was not tasty, not flavoured properly and flat. Perhaps their unique location allows them to think they have a monopoly on the local area. But this is not sound business strategy. We expected a decent meal. We will not return despite the rather large farther into of wiling patrons outside. I have to say I was also turned off by their lack of respect for sanitising - sharing the same pen for signing receipts, not accepting credit card numbers over the phone, and a rude "show up at the shop window and get treated like you're in a good line" did not instill any desire to give them a second chance. Just moved to Boynton and needed a new Chinese fix. Had a massive craving for some hot and sour soup so I tried that, as well as some beef lo Mein and crab Rangoon tonight. I get carry out from here at least once a week. I get a dinner combo and I get so much food! entree with rice, soup, and an egg roll. I always have leftovers! I've lived nearby for the past 2 years and I'm quite the regular. I do have to ask for extra broccoli but that's just my preference. Arrived at the time we agreed upon and they didn't have my order; they'd given it to someone else. No apology. I didn't make a scene. Reordered and waited about 15 minutes or so for my food. Chicken wings were a bit dry and "extra crispy;" not awful but less than great. Not a lot of beef in the mostly-onions-and-peppers pepper steak but good flavor. Won ton soup was about average but there were no dried noodles, I discovered later. Was I supposed to grab some among the packets of sauces on the side of the counter? (I don't recall seeing any.) Chinese takeout isn't tough. I didn't order anything exotic or especially labor intensive, just some standard fare. Maybe take a name or phone number so you don't give away the food? Or apologize and throw in a free egg roll or something? Looks like a family-run business and I'm sure the rent isn't cheap in that big plaza. Absolutely the WORST Chinese food we have ever had! Every dish was bland. Spicy dishes weren't spicy at all. We ordered Shrimp with Lobster Sauce, Moo Shu Pork, Szechuan Beef and Orange Chicken. The egg rolls were over cooked, rubbery and tasted solely of oil. It was our first time ordering and definitely our last. As far as Hole-in-the-Wall take out Chinese Food restaurants in South Florida go, this is one of the best I've had. As many other reviews state, I'm from the Northeast and have enjoyed some pretty good Chinese food in my time. Nothing down here will compare, but Chinatown is very good. I ordered their Family Pack and chose the Wonton Soup, Koran Ragoon, Vegetable Fried Rice, Chicken Lo Mein & Sweet & Sour Chicken. I also added an order of Pan Fried Dumplings. I called the order in being 30 minutes away expecting a long timeframe given it was NYE, but to my surprise the woman who took my call estimated 10-15 minutes. When I arrived they were quite busy with a pickup line 5 customers deep. The woman on the register was very fast, jumped between grabbing orders, ringing customers up and taking phone orders with no trouble at all. She has a noticeably strong accent yet speaks English very well and clearly. I took a peak towards the kitchen and cooks and from what I could view it looks like a very clean operation. When I got to the register my order was rung up and in hand in under 30 seconds. My order was 100% accurate including the 2 special requests I had. The portions are in the usual Chinese food containers and filled to the top. Everything we had was very tasty. Included were plenty of sauces and fortune cookies. One critique I have is that the Fried Rice was a bit on the bland side, but I'm splitting hairs at that. The entire order came to $35. As others have pointed out, it seems that their website menu pricing is not up to date and is a few dollars off. The woman on the phone also made sure that I knew that they were the Chinatown off Woolbright near Federal as there is another Chinatown in Boynton Beach off of Hagen Ranch. When I searched Yelp for and inexpensive takeout Chinese Food restaurant, Chinatown had the best reviews and there was reason. This is exactly what take Chinese should be. I have been to Chinatown on several occasions felt I had to write this I have to say the food has always been good however this time I believe when it came to paying the bill they surprisingly charged us 2.00 more on each entree .When we questioned it he said he wrote 2.00 extra on menu in a place where you wouldnt notice plus the ink was wearing off and that they were old prices and they were expecting new menus plus the cost of things has increased. .That's understandable but they became a bit pricy for what I ordered The 2.00 extra charge should have been written next to the old prices that would have been more legible and noticable. The black bean sauce was excellent, and tastes like it was made in-house. The meat and vegetables were fresh. I've tried almost every Chinese takeout from Miami working my way up to Boynton Beach east of I-95 (and a few west) looking for good shrimp lo mein. This restaurant has the best by far. Like many, I am also from NYC, so have a pretty high bar, but most of the lo mein I've found down here before this is pretty awful. So I am very happy to have found this place.
