12/29/24 just passing through the area so we stopped bc we thought it was a buffet. since Covid it's takeout only. anyway.. the food was excellent. It's a Monday night, so I get that it's not their best foot forward, but the food was coagulating and some was even cold. I'm really hungry and overdue for dinner, but this is not a great experience and I won't be back. I love good Chinese food, and this is not good Chinese food. China Wok in Rochelle came under new ownership at the beginning of this year and based on the recommendation of a neighbor I gave it a try. Since then I have been back at least twice a week and the food is always hot, fresh and flavorful. The prices more than reasonable.and the restaurant is very clean. The owner is friendly and helpful and if you don't see what you like on the menu she will order the ingredients for a future visit. I have eaten Chinese food literally all over the world and have found a surprising number of exceptional eateries in many little out of the way spots. The China Wok is such a spot in Rochelle. If you have never been there give it a try, if you haven't been there since the new owners took over try it again. read more

This was a interesting place. Whent on a friends recommendation. It is very inexpensive for what you get. But not the freshest of food. Seems if you went at a busier time the food might be fresher. The chicken sticks were really good. The rest of the food seemed like had been sitting for awhile. Had to mix and match to get a plate. Stay way from the rice. Lady kept stirring it thinking she would make it better. Not the case rice was still bad. Good luck whith this one hit or miss. read more

This is a nice buffet, with great prices! The buffet is a bit smaller than the other Chinese restaurant in town, but I'm a simple guy, so that's not really a big deal. I like how the sauce in the Chicken & Broccoli is lighter and not as thick as some Chinese restaurants. This restaurant is also self-serve. You pay in advance, get your own drink and take your dishes to a bus tub when you are finished. The staff is very friendly and I will definitely return. read more

I only have used for takeout (never tried buffet yet). My favorite is Spare Ribs. All other food is on par with Happy Wok. Always fast service and very friendly. Very economical place for takeout. read more

had this for dinner wanted Chinese but hate the crappy buffet across the parking lot the egg rolls were huge!!! everything was on point fast and hot and tasty! Crab Rangoon were very yummy. The chicken fried rice wasn't seasoned very much but a lil soy sauce made it perfect! read more

I am visiting the area for business and ran in to get take out. While the place, appearance-wise wasn't appealing, my take out order was very good. I was given a lot of food for a very reasonable price. I ordered the dinner combo...sesame chicken which comes with an egg roll and an appetizer all for under $10. read more

The garlic chicken was mediocre, but the low mein noodles (I'm not a fan of fried rice, which is normally given with the garlic chicken) we're downright terrible. I am a HUGE fan of low mein noodles but theirs were nothing more than spaghetti noodles with soy sauce. Kind of a slap in the face to Chinese food lovers. If I wanted spaghetti, I would have gone to a local Italian joint. However, I will return to this location (and most likely just get white rice) because their crab rangoon is amazing! So if you like crab rangoon and don't mind Chitalian noodles, then I would recommend this place for you. read more
