I got quite a few brain freezes, but it was all worth it especially in such a hot summer day. Foodwise, I liked the Cucumber Salad a lot, but ended up getting a bit bored of the flavor about halfway through the dish. The Takoyaki was really good and flavorful! It's hard to find good takoyaki that doesn't have the texture of mush. My guy and I split the Black Garlic Tonkotsu. It was good, but I've had better. It's a pretty small amount of food for the price and the overall flavor is okay. I didn't get a strong garlic flavor, unfortunately. It's a newer place from what I've gathered so I'm sure they will only improve from here in out.

Checked out this ramen place for lunch in DeKalb. It has a pretty boring location in a strip mall…read morebut it's better than it looks. Nami specializes in Asian noodles. Has a lot of big bowls of various things for meat eaters or if eating plant based. The prices aren't bad with the large portions. At lunch it wasn't that busy. It's kind of an unassuming place. This is in a strip mall with a grocery store. A place that's kind of easy to miss. It's about $13 for a bowl of ramen. Has lots to choose from. I got the Vegetable Ramen. This has lots of things including bamboo shoots, bean sprouts, cabbage, corn, green onions, mushrooms, and pickled ginger, but be sure to ask to make it vegetarian. It seems they use fish flakes. There's lots of other menu options including stir fried ramen. For sure it's one of the best Asian restaurants in town, which isn't hard to achieve, because there aren't many around here. It's closed Mondays. There's a few options for vegans and vegetarians.

Went here for Valentine's Day dinner and it had its hit and misses…read more We just got appetizers and sake. The sake was good. However there was no prices listed on the menu. My plum sake reserved was 30.0 for a small bottle. (Whoops). But it was Valentine's Day so honestly it wasn't a biggie. Onto the food. For starters we got the spring rolls and soup dumplings. The spring rolls were made fresh and very good. Only thing that would have been nice is if they were wrapped with the ends closed up as when you tried to dip them in the delicious sauce that came with the insides fell out a bit. They had a good mix of lettuce, noodles, shrimp and a little shredded crab I believe. (It was dark in there so was hard to tell). The soup dumplings were to die for !! Nothing more to say but small bites of heaven. And they didn't come out so hot that you popped on into your mouth and were hit with boiling insides. Will definitely go back for these again. Now to the meh ones. The crab Rangoon needed more filling and more crab. Kinda bland. And the jalapeño stuffed wontons also needed more peppers and bacon. Just not a ton of flavor other than fried. We did not have room for any of the rolls but they looked interesting. Not a lot of "raw" ones so if that's your think your choices are limited. It's a cute little space the staff was super nice and it was a last minute dinner reservation so that was a plus. They were really hopping to bring out all the food stuffs and we left with the intention of coming back on a less busy day to try more items.

From the moment I walked in, the inviting aroma of simmering broth set the stage for a fantastic meal. I opted for the Gyu Don and a Tonkatsu Ramen and was thoroughly impressed. The broth was rich, deeply flavorful, and clearly simmered for hours to perfection - not too heavy, but incredibly satisfying. The noodles had a wonderful chewiness, cooked just right, and the toppings were fresh and thoughtfully prepared. The chashu pork was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the soft-boiled egg had that perfect jammy yolk. Beyond the delicious food, the service was prompt and friendly, and the atmosphere was cozy and authentic, making it a great spot for either a quick lunch or a relaxed dinner. If you're craving authentic, soul-warming ramen, this place is an absolute must-try. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

We didn't want to travel too far from our hotel so we stopped in at ilovekeats. It was our first time - our server explained a few things to us and told us what was a popular order. We ordered a couple appetizers (the jalapeño/crab was awesome), a few rolls and a chasu don. The appetizers were very, very good as was the chasu don. The rolls were just okay. It was pretty quiet the night we went, I am not sure if that is because it was NYE or if it is always quiet. The restaurant was clean and the staff was very friendly. I think we would go back again when we are in the area - the appetizers were incredible.

I hate to say it, but the service was a little below what I'm used to at a Teppanyaki restaurant. Generally, you have somebody dedicated to your table kind of hovering around and seeing if they can get you anything. Here we waited a long time to get drink refills etc. The food was less flavorful than what I am used to at this type of restaurant too. The main problem is they do not use garlic butter. It's amazing what this does to the flavor profiles of all the food from the fried rice to the chicken to the steak to the vegetables. The chef was nice but was throwing shrimp around that had butter on it and got on many of our clothes... The atmosphere was completely normal for a place like this, perhaps a little more cramped than normal. People sitting around talking and enjoying watching the chefs prepare the food.... I have not tried the other big Japanese place, will be interesting to compare....
