The smoothie teas from here are to die for! I got the blackberry while my guy got kiwi and they were both delicious, but the blackberry came out ahead for me. I got quite a few brain freezes, but it was all worth it especially in such a hot summer day. Foodwise, I liked the Cucumber Salad a lot, but ended up getting a bit bored of the flavor about halfway through the dish. The Takoyaki was really good and flavorful! It's hard to find good takoyaki that doesn't have the texture of mush. My guy and I split the Black Garlic Tonkotsu. It was good, but I've had better. It's a pretty small amount of food for the price and the overall flavor is okay. I didn't get a strong garlic flavor, unfortunately. It was a cold day yesterday so my friend and I decided to pick up some ramen to go. I love how they package everything so nothing gets soggy. Great touch. I got the black garlic and it was very flavorful. I'd say maybe a touch salty if I was being nit picky, but it was a solid bowl of ramen. My friend really liked the tonkotsu he got. The Golden Katsu is to die for. This is my first visit and I have had ramen all over, but this joint ranks up there in the top five places for me. I will be a repeat customer. Cute was the first word that came to mind as I walked in. On my first day back in Illinois, I decided I would like to try ramen here and saw that this place had favorable views and close to my lodging. Really loved the Lychee Mojito, so fruity and refreshing. Figured since their tea's so good, I'd order a second drink without even finishing my first. I ordered the tonkatsu, which my highlight is the taste of the pork that was grilled? just right. My favorite dish was the Strawberry Mille Crepe Cake. Took it a bit to soften up, but love the presentation and how cute it looked. Finally, a ramen place in this town. So far, it's the *only* ramen place out here worthy of going to, tbh. Got spicy tonkatsu, as that's my go to. It was good! Sadly, they don't have kikurage, just basic white mushrooms. The price for what I got is on par with any other ramen place I've had (nationally, as I've lived in tons of places). Clean! LARGE dining floor! Just fabulous! The owner and I got to talking and we've had a few similar experiences in life, living in different states. All in all, give this place a try. Especially if you've never had ramen. Note: SKIP places that serve Japanese food or Japanese fusion and happen to have ramen in the menu. Ramen *is* its own cuisine. The pork belly was flavorful and cooked just right, egg was cooked to a medium hardness, and the noodles were perfect, still springy with good flavor. The broth was packed with flavor. I also got the milk tea with tapioca. The tea was soft and mild, with a subtle sweetness, and good flavor boba. The service was attentive and friendly. We also tried the strawberry smoothie, the smoothie was so tasty, very sweet with delicious chunks of fruit. It had a creamy topping with a very interesting flavor, very unique to anything you could find in the rockford area. Highly recommend. As you can see from the photos, the presentation was great and the egg was cooked to perfection. Definitely the best ramen in town. The milk tea was good but not as impressive. They did recommend the brown sugar one and we opted for the basic milk tea still so that may have been our fault slightly haha. Pro: Great ambiance. This is definitely a hangout spot with the decor, music, and kind wait staff. Con: the food. I'm Chinese American and grew up working at my parents' restaurant. I've developed a palette for multifaceted layers of flavor and a love for different Asian foods--especially ramen. I've gone to some of the best places in Chicago. Ramen & Tea feels like a business, not a place where they care about the details of the food. I got the beef noodle soup. The broth tasted with pre-packaged beef broth. The noodles definitely were some sort of Chinese premade noodle that I could've bought at a Chinese grocery store. The beef tasted and felt like pre-frozen beef chuck that had a little bit of freezer burn. The egg was fried over-hard, which made the yolk chalky and dry. It should be fried over-easy to accommodate for the heat of the broth to continue cooking to create a gooey yolk. My husband got the Tonkotsu Ramen. The milky color should be from almost a full day of boiling down pork bones and spices. The broth tasted like basic pork broth with no spices. The soy sauce egg also seemed to be under marinated. I couldn't taste any of the marinade that should've made it dark. I haven't had the tea drinks or other parts of the menu. I definitely would not be coming back for the noodle dishes. read more

It takes a lot for me to recommend a $14 bowl of soup, but this place delivers. I had the spicy chicken noodle and a Superfruit Tea with popping Strawberry Boba. The soup was spicy but stonger on flavor than heat with generous portions of noodles and chicken, topped with a fried egg. The sweet fruit drink ($7) contained actual slices of apple, watermellon, and strawberry, with exciting little explosions in my mouth from the boba. The staff was very friendly and nice but our server stared me and my partner down while we were waiting for our food, eating and while we were walking out of the restaurant which made us very uncomfortable.. I wouldn't go back unless they change the food to be more flavorful. And on top of that they charged a whole dollar for chili oil that's not even spicy! The drinks were alright, my partner loved the mango drink but the brown sugar milk tea seems to be lacking in sweetness, all in all I would rate it a 5/10 read more

The deep fried mini buns are AMAZING, thin crispy crust on the outside and soft pillowy on the inside. They were not overly greasy either. I ordered pick up and they had all the ramen ingredients packed separately and labeled which was really helpful when putting the ramen together. The portion sizes were really nice too for the price, I was able to get two meals out of it. The chatshu (pork) in the ramen had a nice crust on it but was fall apart tender and flavorful.
