Found out about this Chinese restaurant in Rochelle that has a buffet. It looks pretty fucking weak but hey it's all you can eat. New China Buffet has a lot more than just Americanized versions of stuff. Actually has everything including pizza. The prices would be okay if it had better quality. Crappy looking inside but people aren't caring about it apparently. It's basically like a feast. You get as much as you want so put as much as possible on plates. A little better if variety than many buffets. It's $15 for adults at lunch. A bad thing is there's few vegetarian choices. The same few things we kept putting on our plates. Good if caring more about quantity, but make sure to use the bathroom before you leave. It's closed Mondays. The food here is mostly gross, but we actually liked a few things. read more

If I could select zero stars I would. making sure the order is correct and getting simple requests correct for is not their strong point. Order to go. Asked for a spoon, fork and extra soy sauce. I didn't receive any of it. They forgot my noodles in chow mein which is part of the mea. check your order before you leave. Even if they reassure you it's all there. read more

The food was ok. They had some good variety and it was nice and hot. The price was reasonable and pepper steak was great! The waitress we had was kind of rude, and she seemed like "I hate this place" kind of attitude about her. The sushi was warm and the atmosphere was kind of boring. I left wishing for better selection. And there were times where you wanted to go back for 2nds and the trays were empty and stayed empty for a good amount of time. One star only because there was no lesser option. GROSS the tables were covered in a pool of water. I felt like i was melting in the humidity. The staff was grumpy and on their phones. I visited this restaurant tonight for dinner. I have been here many times and during this visit, the food on the buffet was fresh and hot. I dined during dinner hours. Sometimes if you go during off-peak hours, some items on the buffet aren't as fresh as they should be. The restaurant recently put new carpet down, re-upholstered the booths and I noticed tonight that they had new soda glasses. The staff is always very friendly. read more

STAY AWAY!!!! FAR FAR AWAY!!!! I am a self proclaimed "Foodie" & I found this socalled food unedible. My husband & I went here on a Tues. eve at approx. 5p.m. At first I was relieved to see the cooks bringing out some "fresh" food. They brought out very small amts. at a time & only about 1/2 of the buffet dishes. When I filled my plate I attempted to eat it. ea. food item I tried was saturated w/ grease & had a very dried out rubbery consistency. It was completely inedible! From my knowledge frying oil needs to be fresh & clean to heat & cook the food properly. The other sauce covered foods were extremely gooey which in turn made the food chewy & rubbery. Very disappointing as we had ate here at lunch time 1yr. ago & it was good & fresh. I guess lunch time is the only time to even think about chancing it. Hope this was helpful. Wasn't happy with the food. Service was good. There was less than 10 people in the restaurant yet multiple selections on buffet were empty and a few warm at best. Went there for a last dinner before i had my c section will never go there again there fried chicken strips were RAW on the inside slimy and pink and everything. I showed them what was going on and they just looked at me like they didn't understand. I talked to the manager and refused to pay for the meal considering I was 9 months pregnant and my 10 year old had already taken a bite of one i was furious it ruined our whole night out. Not to mention going there before the fried shrimp still had a full vein full of poop up the back not in just one but all of them. I should have never given them a second chance and went back this place it is going to kill someone and needs to be shut down! read more

I drive 20+ miles to go to New China Buffet. They have the only Coconut Shrimp in this area, and it is good. They do not always have it on the buffet, but if you ask they will fix it for you. I love the way they cater to their customers. Good food. Great service. read more

My family meets my parents there 3-4 times a year for lunch, as it is about the midpoint between our houses. The food is always fresh. There is a limited sushi election included. Drinks are included in the price, also. Even my youngest daughter, who is usually a picky eater, leaves there stuffed. We haven't found a better Chinese buffet anywhere in this price-range. read more
