Where I'm from, I've never seen a drive through Chinese place- so I was SO SURPRISED when Happy Wok met all of my expectations for Chinese food. I ordered orange chicken with rice and crab Rangoons...it was absolutely delicious. The only thing I will say is that there was a hair in my orange chicken sauce, but honestly that didn't change my opinion because the food was THAT GOOD (and the sauce was on the side so I could easily throw it out). Does this place carry utensils? I don't live in DeKalb, but visit every so often because my boyfriend goes to NIU. The food the first couple times was pretty decent, but they NEVER give utensils. I double checked with the woman in the drive through if they had packed any, and she assured me they did. Of course we get back home and there's no utensils or napkins. Today the same thing occurred but with delivery. We ordered honey chicken with veggies that we paid extra for. The restaurant never packed the veggies but still charged us for them. I'll show you the "honey chicken" -- basically just unseasoned fried chicken pieces with a literal cup of watered down honey. And again, no utensils after we especially asked for them. It's not about the forks, it's about customer service. The fact that they tell you they've done something as simple as give you utensils when they have neglected to do so more than once shows how much they care. Probably won't be going back. Hands down my favorite Chinese place of all time. Like stated in the previous reviews Happy Wok is totally underrated for their food and they deserve a lot more credit than they get. I've noticed a rule at most restaurants (from personal experience) that the more items on the menu the food tends to be of a lesser quality but this is no way true for Happy Wok!! They have so many options and for some it might be a bit daunting but you will always have something new to try. My favorite is the pork fried rice and although it isn't the most expansive dish on their menu they knock it out of the park. Not only does the rice have amazing flavors, they go out of this world in making sure it isn't over soy sauced and the beef is cooked perfectly. While Happy Wok has both takeout and delivery I always prefer to go for takeout. They also have a drive-thru. But the reason I go for takeout is because no matter what they always have a smile on their faces there. HANDS DOWN my favorite restaurant in Dekalb! Each meal was FAST, ACCURATE, and GREAT PORTIONS! So far I've tried (and recommend!) the SnowPea/Shrimp , the Garlic Chicken, chicken curry, and the sweet and sour chicken. You should try the Sesame balls for desert! Not to mention, the egg drop soup is the perfect fix for a killer hangover from a Friday night at stans. For the DeKalb location, I recommend the Sweet and Sour Chicken (they're light on the breading) and the egg rolls, which are just stellar. In addition to good food, the staff is friendly and helpful. Most are willing to make a suggestion if you can not decide what you want, and they have yet to steer me wrong. I ordered the chicken lomein for delivery, like I have so many times before. I was so excited when I got it, opened it up and became seriously disappointed. The first, most obvious thing I noticed was the fact that the noodles were "naked" there was no sauce. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Wish they had a option for no stars! I went here for a take out dinner last night ordered Mongolian Chicken and Large shrimp fried rice. When I got home I noticed that the Mongolian Chicken had barely any chicken except for small shreds , basically it was 90% vegetables. Really poor quality food and service. I've had a lot of Chinese food in Dekalb and many other places. This is hands down the WORST Chinese ever. It was nearly inedible. Both the General Tso's and Sesame chicken had very soggy breading and the sauces were extremely similar and odd....very sweet, but with an unpleasant aftertaste. I think the only difference between the two is the sesame seeds thrown on top of the sesame chicken. Egg rolls were very small and tasted of dirty sink water.
