If I could give zero stars I would. First off, there's a horrible smell right outside the front door of this restaurant. It smells like a dumpster. That should have been my first clue to not even go in. I ordered the hibachi chicken and the total came to about $15. It was about 75% rice and 25% chicken. The chicken itself was chewy and fatty. When I first received the order, I did ask the cashier if that was the correct amount of rice? She just pointed to the menu and said something I couldn't understand. I have been told that Yang's Kitchen restaurant is the very best in the area. The price for the hibachi chicken there is about $10 as well. They will get my business from now on. read more

I just wanted a quick meal and this place hit the spot. I ordered 4 wings and friends rice and it was made to order. The chicken was crispy and flavorful. The rice was good, but it had too many white onions (personal preference) and they could've been cut a tad smaller. The menu is big and I will probably return for a lunch special. Visiting from out of town- after a long day outside we decided to order in and found this gem. We had cashew chicken, kung pao chicken. Beef with snow peas. Szechuan wontons and lo mein noodles. Everything was delicious. The chicken dishes had a little more filler than we prefer but still everything tasted great. Good price, and great food. May even go back before we leave town. I went in around 2:00 and there was no one else eating in there. I ordered a large chicken fried rice and received this. The main issues I have with what I received is that I was expecting there to be vegetables others than onions, maybe even just a frozen carrot/pea/corn blend, and I was expecting there to be more chicken. The onions are larger than the chicken. I think based on the amount of chicken in the container it must've been one chicken tender cut up and thrown in. Last night we had take out from this location. We've eaten here a several times and have never been disappointed. I had the Shrimp Mei Fun. Plenty of shrimp and it was delicious. My daughter had the Shrimp and broccoli. The shrimp was big and again plenty. I ate some of hers as well. For take out Chinese this place is very good. Service was fast, no wonder my fried chicken wings were soggy. Ordered lemon pepper and didn't taste a lick of lemon pepper. Told her no onions in my rice, looked like they cut up a whole onion. It's rare to find something so disappointing that I'm even willing to entertain the thought of giving it such a low star rating but China Wok was certainly unimpressive enough to accomplish this feat! This is the first Chinese food restaurant I tried after moving to the area and WOW was I disappointed. Ignoring the fact that I was spoiled during my 12 years living in Hawaii by the tasty balance between Americanized Chinese food and more traditional takes on the cuisine, this place is still disappointing. I can't remember exactly what I ordered because I made it a point to toss out the menu (it was that bad!) but everything was a disappointment. The meat dishes were either flavorless or wrongly sweet. The noodles were bland and they failed to tell me that every single dish comes with white rice so ordering fried rice and a side of white rice was insane. The sides of rice amounted to probably 3 full cups alone! Though according to bringmethat.com they will deliver to my home, I don't know if I'd ever be that desperate for delivery. SO disappointing! Also, very irritated that a restaurant that offers delivery service has ZERO web presence. Most disappointing Chinese takeout I've ever had in my life. This was the first place I've tried after moving to Summerville, but I will definitely be going elsewhere next time. In my opinion it is quite hard to mess up Chinese takeout, especially when you don't have high expectations to begin with. I mean I know I'm not getting the same quality of food as if I went to a nice sit down restaurant. I ordered kung pao chicken and it was in no way kung pao chicken. All they gave me were a few pieces of unflavored heavily breaded chunks of what I guess was chicken in a pile of peanuts and celery. There was literally over 100 pieces of celery with about 8 pieces of chicken. So gross. Not the least bit spicy, nor did it have any kind of sauce. My boyfriend ordered beef lo mein. All he got was a pile of greasy noodles with a few tiny slivers of beef here and there and a few pieces of carrot. Also, they don't even deliver. Unless you're desperate, I would not recommend going here. read more

This obviously isn't going to be the same as a steakhouse, I think some people compare it to a fine dining experience. Decent for something quick and close to the house. This place is terrible! They charge you for every little thing you change and then they don't even give it to you! If you ask for white rice instead of pork fried, they give you pork fried but charge you for the change. The food is not good at all and not worth the price whatsoever. It is definitely run down, but since I just wanted to try it and was getting take out it really didn't matter what the decor was. The prices are about the same as other Chinese places in the area. I had General Tso chicken which came with fried rice and eggroll. My son and I split it since their was quite a bit. Didn't like the eggroll definitely not to my taste but the rest was fantastic. I will definitely stop in again. They had it ready in less than 15 minutes. I have now been back multiple times and still love it. read more

Sweet and sour chicken was good. My wife likes the cheese wontons. I'm never expecting much so I wasn't let down. I don't see why this place gets such bad reviews. They are just like any other takeout Chinese food joint, maybe a little better. I rated 4 stars only because their pricing is confusing and seems to vary with every purchase. They also allow upgrades from white rice to shrimp fried rice one day, but then will give you both at additional cost another day. This is also typical with the language difference. Absolute worst Chinese take out in Summerville!! When there are many Chinese take outs in a town one would want to be on top of their game at ALL times!! We keep giving them another chance only to be taken every time. One time we called and wanted sweet and sour chicken and were told they had no chicken....they are in the same strip mall as Food Lion, they should never be out of chicken. Tonight we ordered beef & broccoli and what did I get...a container of broccoli with 3 slices of beef and no brown sauce at all. We also ordered sweet and sour chicken again, this time chicken but did not get the sweet & sour sauce. Forget about the fried dumplings...pan friend on one side only.
