TINY PORTIONS, BASIC FOOD - OVERPRICED..RUDE OWNERS - A COMPLETE INSULT - DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR…read moreMONEY. I went to Formosa today with my husband and left absolutely FUMING. I've never felt so blatantly disrespected at a restaurant. They tried to have me pay $16.95 for what looked like a kid's sample plate-- it was that bad. The owner then slaps (I'm SERIOUS) the plate back on my table yelling, "OKAY, You can pay $14.00"..what the heck? You disrespect me and still want me to pay anything for this? You lost you mind. I was served maybe ONE OUNCE of chicken breast. Not a full meal -- not even close. Just a few sad slivers of onion and about half a cup of rice. For nearly $17. This wasn't some gourmet presentation either -- it looked like something thrown together at a soup kitchen. It was downright insulting. When I brought it up, calmly and respectfully, the owner snapped at me, saying, "DID YOU EVEN LOOK AT THE MENU?" Your menu should have said, food that looks like overpriced and basic. Excuse me? I didn't raise my voice, I didn't curse -- and that's the response I get? After I said I wasn't going to pay $16 for three bites of food, they started gossiping about me to other customers, giving me nasty looks, and rambling about being "in business for 20 years" as if that justifies their attitude and garbage portions. I'm sorry, but being in business for 20 years doesn't give you a license to treat people like trash or serve meals that wouldn't satisfy a toddler. Their arrogance is unbelievable. DO NOT EAT HERE. You'll walk away feeling ripped off, disrespected, and hungry. The owners clearly don't care about their customers anymore -- if they ever did. I paid cash for our lumpia and our sweet teas and left right after our interaction. I won't walk out on a bill but I wont ever be taken advantage of. These people were effing nasty. And if they are reading this -- yes, I'm talking to YOU TWO the owners -- maybe take a long, hard look in the mirror. Your behavior is disgraceful, and your food is embarrassing. Either drastically change the way you treat your paying customers, or do us all a favor and RETIRE - your washed up.

When I first received the to go order, (because there isn't much ambiance to dine in) I did ask the cashier if that was the correct amout of chicken? She just pointed to the menu above the register and said something i couldn't understand. I have been told that Yang's Kitchen restaurant is the very best in Ladson. We ordered two large teas, egg drop soup, two spring rolls, crab Rangoon, orange chicken, and beef with broccoli. The teas were ginormous but only had one tea bag in them. They were also a few dollars each. I brought them home and added two more tea bags of my own to make it have some flavor. Egg drop soup was delicious! Reminded me of the one I would have growing up at my local Chinese restaurant. It was great. The wonton strips that came with it were very stale and a bit of a put off. Crab Rangoon was good, not exactly fried to golden perfection but nothing wrong taste wise. They were on the smaller side. Spring roll was decently. More of a cabbage flavor to it than I am used to. Orange chicken looked good and had peppers in it which I was stoked about, as well as actual orange peel. However, the dish itself did not taste like orange at all. Only if you ate a direct piece of orange peel did it have any hint of orange The beef and broccoli was pretty bland and it did not look fatty, but it felt and tasted fatty in the mouth. The rice with each dish was okay. A little greasy looking for white rice. Overall, I would come back for the egg drop soup but I wouldn't come back to explore the menu. We ordered pretty basic things and found them to be less than average. I would try somewhere else next time.
