China Wok is never my first choice but today will be my last visit. I usually only order here on a Monday when my favorite place is closed. Ordered a soup to split & asked for a small cup. Cashier was extremely rude & snapped back, "No! We don't do that here!" Really? If you can't be polite to your customers, I will bring my business elsewhere. Owner is rude and mean. Has under age child taking orders and cashing out. Wants to charge extra for everything. One time the owner was taking my order and I asked for a dish with no onions and another dish with extra onions. Wanted to charge me $1.00 extra. An entire onion doesn't cost $1.00. She would not budge. I even stated ... Give me the onions you won't be putting in the other order. She screamed at me. I never went back again. A shame...the food is real good. read more

3 Stars for a frustratingly inconsistent Chinese Take-out joint in Eustis. Unfortunately, I have yet to find a Chinese Restaurant in Lake county that serves consistently fresh food, and this place is no exception. You like Chicken Lo Mein? Go ahead, order some. There's a chance it might be delicious. There's also an equal chance it tastes like it's day old buffet leftovers. Oh, you're saying that General Tso's Chicken is more your style? Well, then your odds of getting fresh food drops to about 20%. You get where I'm going with this. They do have some of the best Crab Rangoon around, but for most people I think that's low on their list of Chinese food priorities. Yes, they often have their young (12 years old?) children taking orders over the phone and ringing up credit cards, but it never bothered me. To find this place, it's located in a small mall near Big Lots. Outside appearance, looks like any other take out Chinese restaurant. As we walk in, the place looks kind of nasty. The ceiling tiles are covered in residue, walls have muck and yuck on them, and the place looks overall dirty. It needs a major touch up job. Despite that, we decide to give them a fair try. We ordered the sweet and sour chicken, pork fried rice, and more. Portion size was good, but the food had an odd smell to it. It tasted like it was kind of old. My kids and I love good Chinese food and we threw most of our meal in the trash. I'd also go on to note that they aren't very friendly nor talkative. Food was good, service was not. Tried to order a meal without pork (which is difficult because there's pork in the fried rice and the egg rolls). I accepted the up charge to get a different protein in the fried rice. When I asked if I could get a spring roll or literally ANYTHING ELSE instead of the pork egg roll, I got yelled at. If you don't mind ordering off the menu with no substitutions, this place is worth a try. And if you do try it, do yourself a favor and take it to go. Please NOTE the owner....Lady in charge...had been in China and due back in July. She is the missing piece. She keeps the employees on their toes and watches over the food quality and taste. Give it another chance after she gets back. I think you will get the excellent food you remember. read more

We used to come here a lot and ordered our food a lot over the years. But lately with the new owner there, she's rude and mean. Not very friendly. Restaurant is filthy and extremely dirty. We've missed the original owner whom was very nice and communicative with customers. Place used to be cleaned and up to par. Now with the new owner is like she doesn't care but to make money and extremely rude and stuck up to customers. Never coming back to this place again. I will not ever be eating here again. All of the filling was cooked out of my cream cheese rangoons, the dough on the outside of the seafood stick was not fully cooked, the wontons were tough, and the rice was mushy! For me to have spent $25, i am seriously upset! read more

I do not recommend this establishment. I attempted to place a delivery order tonight. I found their flyer on my door. Figured we'd give them a shot. I called to place my order for delivery and the phone was answered by a rude female child. She could barely speak through her incessant laughing. Needless to say, I did not place my intended order. I hung up, ripped up China Woks menu and will share my distaste to others. Mount Dora, Eustis and Tavares have a plethora of amazing eateries. China Wok is rude from the beginning. I was highly disappointed with the attitude of both the delivery driver, and the owner! I finally had to call them after it took an hour and 15 minutes for our dinner to be delivered. Run away, as fast as you can! Ordered from a flyer that we found at the door some weeks back. The first mistake we made is not reading the reviews first but we were starving( mom, dad, and two young adult children) The food arrived in a timely manner however upon opening the bag we found the number of concerning things. First, their fried rice or should I say pork fried rice, is simply yellow rice with a dabbling of pork added. Second their special dinner the triple delight was supposed to have jumbo shrimp well it did have shrimp four to be exact and all four of them were barely the size of half of my pinky . Third the vegetable lo mein was nothing more than lo mein noodles with a few vegetables put on top. Fourth, the eggrolls were greasy over fried flavorless and quite honestly put directly into the garbage after the first bite. This place needs to be put out of business and so the public can be protected. And to top it off they charge me five dollars for delivery, will guess what, the new Publix on Highway 44 is going to have a Chinese takeout to help us rid this sad excuse for a restaraunt! read more

I can only imagine the quality of the food, imagine because I did not get that far. Before even entering this China Wok I stopped in my tracks and look in disbelief at how DIRTY the windows were. You could not even see inside past all the grime, smudges and film of filth. Needless to say, first impressions are everything. If management cannot even notice something as obvious as how their establishment looks from the outside then no way would I ever trust how clean / filthy the kitchen is. We very rarely order from this place and after the experience we had with them today we will not be ordering from them again. The place I work for placed a $50 order for lunch today. The driver that brought it out was rude as hell, got nasty with us because she pulled up to the wrong side of the building and then hung up on us when we tried to explain to us how to get to the correct entrance. When she brought the food in she just dropped it on the desk and never said a word the whole time she was here. Once we go through the order we find that we are missing white rice and that we got no silverware sent out with the order. So we called back to let them know we were missing items and the guy they put on the phone proceeded to argue about whether or not it was in the bag, would not even listen to the full complaint just proceeded to keep going on and on about how the rice was in the bag. Fantastic Chinese food! I have eaten their food several times and I only call them for carry out and delivery. My wife and daughter in law are vegetarians and are really pleased with the quality of the dishes. They work hard to get the orders out quickly and the manager a very attractive young mother gets uptight and begins to act like a character out of Seinfeld, but she is good at heart and will do her best to make the best food. Today was my first time ordering food from this restaurant & it will also be my last. For starters, there is a lack of decent customer service. My initial call to the restaurant was dropped (due to a bad phone line on their end) & after calling the other available business line, the conversation was rushed by the associate & I was nearly hung up on before my address was even taken.! The delivery driver did not call prior to her arrival & presented herself with a very negative attitude before speeding off in our neighborhood & blowing through a stop sign. The food itself was very unimpressive. I'd heard good things about this restaurant, but ended up highly dissatisfied. Of the three items that were ordered (Vegetable Lo Mein, White Rice, & Sweet/Sour Chicken), the only thing somewhat edible was the Lo Mein. The rice almost had a "cardboard" taste to it, while the Chicken was fairly overcooked & the paired sauce tasted very metallic. Within half an hour, my relatives were feeling sick & vomiting; do NOT risk it, this place is hit or miss. read more
