It almost made me wonder if Monday was "throw out any leftover pork" day. But, that's not fair. It was delicious. We were split on the egg rolls. I liked mine. It was crisp and full of vegetables. My wife was not a fan. Hers, in her judgement, was mushy and lacking in vegetables. Neither of us could identify what meat, if any, was in there. The bourbon chicken was a complete disaster. My first bite was cold. The chicken was dry. At first I thought it lacked flavor. But second and third bites revealed a flavor I did not care for. Something was off. And where was the sweetness? The broccoli in the dish was fine. This is a premium dish. It's a couple bucks more than other chicken offerings. It comes in a larger, fancier container. But, swing and a miss. Embarrassingly so. Oops, Super Bowl Sunday. It was a pick six. And it spoiled an otherwise okay meal. The worker behind the counter (who also took my order on the phone) was friendly. I wasn't there long enough to study cleanliness. No white glove test, no visit to the loo. Maybe next time, if there is one. I also tried the sweet and sour chicken, which came with wonton soup. The wonton soup was delicious and full of flavor. My only criticism was the sweet and sour chicken itself. The batter was a little too thick and wasn't as crispy as I prefer. The woman working the counter was genuinely friendly and welcoming. She even told me to grab as many hot mustard packets as I wanted, which made me smile because I'm a hot mustard addict. The only tiny disappointment was that there weren't any fortune cookies with the order. Not a deal breaker, but I always look forward to reading my fortune at the end of a Chinese takeout meal. The reason I left 3 stars was because I asked for water. The lady said "NO" but I could buy a canned drink... I thought that was odd. As I was eating a lady behind me in line bought a water for me!
