I've been a loyal customer of this restaurant for over a year, but today I had a very disappointing experience. The one time I decided to pay with cash, my order was completely messed up. When I called to place the order, the lady who answered the phone was extremely rude, rushed, and had a very bad attitude. I specifically asked for a large rice with shrimp (as a combo) and a small pork fried rice, but she seemed like she just wanted to get me off the phone. When my food arrived, it was not what I ordered. I called back right away to explain, and instead of apologizing or trying to resolve the issue, she acted like she was more upset than I was and didn't care at all. On top of that, I tried calling the driver and got no response--even though I still gave a tip when the order was delivered. This was very unprofessional and disappointing service. Very very poor experience. My Chinese pork and vegetables stale, dried out, tough and probably left overs from yesterday. The egg drop soup seemed like gelatin with a weird taste. My wife's cashew chicken dried out and possessing a weird flavor...even the rice served was bad. We've been coming to China Star for years, but today this was a disaster. Possibly a new cook? I have been coming here for 15 years. Very rarely is anything wrong. Tonight the food was terrible. I called and explained to the lady that the food was terrible tonight and that I needed a credit as we are not going to eat it. The women got very defensive and nasty. BEST IN STUART FOR SURE! They only currently offer take-out, but they sure do the business. We just ordered some chicken fried rice and egg rolls this time. Very yummy!! I have never been disappointed at this place! Great food, correctly prepared and hot upon pickup. Very friendly service whether you call in, walk in, or order online. When ordering from a Chinese place I already know that the food is pretty much the same anywhere you go. I am impressed with how you can order online and how fast our food was delivered. We ordered shrimp fried rice, chicken lo mein and sweet-and-sour chicken. Everything was delicious. We will definitely be keeping this place in mind for next time. read more

Really not good. Mu shu pork was awful and I didn't eat it. Sesame chicken was overly sweet and somewhat edible. The fried rice was weird, only had rice in it and was ok. The tastiest thing I ate was the fortune cookie. I ordered delivery and would not order from here again. read more

This is me and my gfs favorite Chinese spot. They make everything taste so good. Always quick with pick up orders 15-20 mins and it's ready. Which I love. The boneless spareribs are the best here I've had it at many places around the area this is the best by far. Also the lo mein has a fantastic flavor even when you're full you want to keep eating it lol. Anyway this is the best Chinese restaurant from fort Pierce to Stuart. I've been eating here off and on dating back to when it was drive through Chinese. Ordered lemon chicken- YUM! Wonton special soup- very bland and the overly large wontons were flavorless and doughy. Shrimp and broccoli wasn't bad,, wasn't great. The regular fried rice is boring- brown and dull. I'll be back to try again, but will definitely order different food.Tonights meal was overpriced for the lack of taste read more

Went with my family for Christmas dinner and everything was great. The service was actually quite slow when we showed up at 345pm; but it seemed like they were short staffed. Things quickly changed and have no complaints. Food was tasty and hot. We had moo goo gai on, orange beef and veggie lo mein. The crab rangoons were also delicious! Definitely recommend. Haven't been here in many years but used to be my favorite when I worked down the street. read more

Never again, I gave them numerous chances but today was the kicker.This place is so inconsistent it borders on comical(too bad we have to pay when they deliver crap) I ordered chicken wings which are one of the few items they get right till today...My wings had soooo much batter on them it was absurd(nothing like previously ordered ones) I also had sweet and sour chicken which looked like the chef, I'm using the word "chef" loosely, forgot to put my whole order in the container and that was a positive as the chicken tasted old and had the consistency of rubber. My final item was Shrimp with Lobster sauce,My mother is still looking for the lobster sauce.It's like they put the lobster sauce in the container with a table spoon. (Fresh food takes time) it came exactly when it said it would, all of the food was hot, fresh, and exactly as ordered. The worst Chinese restaurant in the area. I ordered wontons soup, general tso chicken, and sesame chicken. The wontons had a sliver of filling, but were mostly dough, very rubbery and unappetizing. The general tso and sesame "chicken" were disgusting. The meals were only breading - there was no meat inside. I realized this when I cut all of the pieces of sesame "chicken" open and found that only TWO actually contained chicken. The rest were just breading. Soggy chewy breading at that. I have lived Stuart my entire life. I have eaten China Star numerous times, probably more than I can count. I made the mistake of recommending this restaurant to my husband and his mother who are not from this area. The delivery was late, the food was awful, and I did not even get the meal that I ordered. We were told that if they did not have the item in they would just take it off the order. I would have loved to known that because I ended up with nothing to eat. I will never ever order from this restaurant again. You've lost a long-time customer and embarrassed me in front of my family. First of all, my mother-in-law ended up with food poisoning and she was given a number for an insurance company to call to make a complaint. That right there is very disturbing in itself. read more

My wife and I had lunch today at the China Star. We have lived in Stuart for over 10 years and decided to check it out. Overall it was one of the worst Chinese meals I have had. I ordered hot and sour soup and crispy duck. The soup was boring but passable. The duck was uneatable. When I told the waiter the duck was overcooked she said yes they overcooked it. No inquiry if they could correct the problem and provide a substitute or take it off the bill. My wife ordered wonton soup and shrimp, pork and chicken with wood ear mushrooms. (she loves wild mushrooms) Her meal came with no mushrooms. Our inquiry was met with "we don't put mushrooms in the dish anymore". Even the fried rice was mediocre. I found one pea and no green onion or other vegetable. Once is enough. Will not return. PS skip the bathroom. read more

I ordered from here bc they deliver and was not in the mood to pick anything up. The delivery was fast and the lady who delivered was very nice... (that is the only reason why I gave 2 stars instead of 1) I really can't say I've ever had bad Chinese food till now. I got steamed dumplings that was nothing but dough (barely any meat) with absolutely no flavor, even the dipping sauce just tasted like water. The wonton soup... also no flavor at all. Then I got the general tso with fried rice.... I do not know how it's possible for everything I got to have absolutely no flavor at all. I ordered the chicken and broccoli from here two nights ago. I didn't expect it to be good, just cheap Chinese food. It tasted as-expected, but no complaints there. Something in the food made me feel TERRIBLE. Extreme headache, dizziness, and GI issues. I've never had this happen from a meal before. I have no idea what ingredient could have caused this, maybe MSG? Either way, I would highly recommend avoiding this place. read more

Hands down my favorite Chinese food around. I found them while hospitalized at Martin Memorial North...put on a liquid diet and was craving soup. I found this gem and in less than 20 mins I had hot soup at my hospital room. What makes it better, the delivery driver, a blessed young lady named Susan (ask for Susan on deliveries) cried and prayed with me at my bedside and since, became a great friend. I ordered a large half egg drop half mu shu soup....it is heavenly. When I'm not in patient, I now go in to order and eat...it's a nice establishment, good atmosphere, great prices and friendly staff. However...I think the staff at the actual store could take a bit more time to get to know their customers and present more patience while communicating and on the phone as well. We have lived in Jensen beach for 2 years now and have gotten delivery from here at least a dozen times. It is the only non greasy joint in town. The food is always hot and delicious!! Sesame chicken combo with hot and sour soup, beef with vegetables, and the fried dumplings, is what we normally get. But have tried multiple dishes on the menu, can't go wrong with anything they make!! read more
