we went to eat lunch buffet at 12:45 PM. Buffet doesn't end until 2:30 PM. Almost every entrée on the buffet was either basically gone or have been there so long it was to the bottom of the pan. When we asked if they had more of something they were happy to oblige, but it took them 30 minutes to get it out and by then we were done eating.. This was possibly the worst lunch buffet I have ever had. Very disappointed. read more

Food is made inconsistent one day made with beans and rice next time its not. Staff can be rude at times but on the average nice people. Delivery or take out they skimp you on food amounts are like half what they are inside. Plate servings are not consistent either one day you get your moneys worth others its just sad. 10/10 will not recommend. We're seated on a very dirty table and as my kids went to sit they noticed broken glass all over the floor and seat. The lady still asked if we would ok with that. Mind you that the whole place was empty and she stated she knew about broken glass being there. Slow service as there is only 2 people working there. Delivery driver went to wrong house. Then driver called and argued with me on my address till he realized he was at wrong address. I ordered sweet and sour chicken and never got no sweet and sour sauce. So bad hardly no place in ottawa to deliver to people who don't drive. read more

We order here quite often and eat from here a lot and this was the first time we have had issues. We found a metal shaving in out chicken lo mien and the chicken had an after taste that was not appetizing at all. Had the lunch buffet here when visiting a friend in Ottawa. When we walked in the place was half full which is always a good sign that locals prefer to eat here regularly. Decent selection running across three stations consisting of standard Chinese dishes. They willingly replenished some dishes which were running low upon request with some customization which was a welcome sign. What a great little place, we had time to spare on a day trip to KC so we decided to get off the highway and give this place a try. The buffet was good sized for a smaller restaurant, very good selection and the food was very fresh. My son wanted something that was almost out on the buffet and the guy asked if he wanted more, they made a fresh batch and brought it right out to him. My wife loves her Chinese food so when I see her on weekends (she's staying with her dad on his farm while she rehabs from knee replacement surgery) it's our Friday night meal. We used to go to Blue Star but they've closed a couple months ago so we started coming here. They have stepped up their game since Blue Star closed so the food is improved. A plus is that they offer croutons, cheese and bacon bits for salads. They still need some improvement in some items(lo mein noodles) but they're just as good elsewhere. What impressed me was that they ran out of mushrooms on the buffet so while my wife was eating they brought out a bowl of mushrooms for her. Overall compared to the buffets in KC CP is better but there's room for improvement. read more

This is the worst Chinese food I've ever had. The crab Rangoon was cold and soggy. The lo mein was made with spaghetti noodles rather than lo mein noodles, it had three tiny disgusting pieces of chicken in it, no veggies, and the sauce was so thin and watery that the noodles wouldn't hold it. The place looks like your typical Chinese food restaurant inside and out. I've eaten there a few times and it's hit or miss but the carry out is pretty good. I've only had a few of there dishes but I plan on trying more as time goes on. read more

I ordered takeout from here for the first time on Thursday, August 10th. I went into the restaurant so I could look at their menu, made my selection and placed my order painlessly. It was only ~$6 for an entree, some rice and a crab Rangoon as their dinner special, which was great. I received my food within ~10 minutes and left. I ran a few errands before I was able to get home and actually try the food. It was actually still warm, which was a pleasant surprise, but the chicken was tough and chewy. It tasted like too much pepper and it was burnt. The rice wasn't much better. The crab Rangoon was actually quite good, though. I took a few bites before chucking the whole meal in the trash. I wasn't given a receipt or I probably would have complained. I'm not sure I will risk trying this restaurant again for fear of throwing away more of my (very small supply of) money read more

Other than that, the rest of the meal was absolute trash, which coincidentally, was right where most of it ended up. there was a staple in the general tao's chicken. the beef w/ mushrooms and bamboo shoots was soggy & bland, save for the distinct & overpowering flavor of pure dish soap. came here while visiting family in the midwest ... seriously the best chinese food i have had in a very very long time. we got the buffet to go. everything was super hot, super fresh, really interesting items, plenty for me the little pescatarian and plenty for my super carnivore brother who was my traveling companion. i had been living on taco bell and trader joes nuts and dried mango smuggled into kansas in my suitcase, so china palace was a most welcome delicious surprise !! yummy yummy shrimps, and veggy things, and rice cheesy balls and more -- go here ! oh and it was super inexpensive - like $7.99 for everything you could stuff in your takeaway box + soup ! read more

We arrived at the restaurant around 8:00 PM. The buffet was pretty empty, but the staff cooked us up some great dishes just for us. The waiter checked on us several times and refilled our waters repeatedly. Great attentive service, great food, and clean bathrooms. read more
