The dining room is never crowded. However it is hard to hear the staff making the sandwiches. Each time I've walked in the person is wearing an earbud- and having active conversations while making the sandwiches. Not usually an issue at a restaurant but while they make your sandwich you are supposed to be sharing details of what you do/do not want on your sub sandwich. So it felt like I needed to be more assertive when ordering. Did they hear I wanted no onions? I guess not, I can pick them off. Not a big deal. However it wasn't a smooth experience. If you have allergies- I personally wouldn't recommend. However, the location inside is clean. Restrooms had out of order signs in them... not so good for a dine in experience. Overall, if I need a sub, I'll wait until I am in Gardner, Olathe, or OP.

When I'm hungry and can't decide what I want I call Pizza Village. It's quick and delicious. From the 18 sandwhiches they carry to all the pizza's with many sauces you can choose from, it's great. I know that the sauce is homemade and it's delicious. The crust is always fluffy and fresh. As for the owners they're always nice and know how to put a smile on your face. The service is always great as the teenager comes out with a smiling face and I'm always happy when I leave. It's always hot and I'm full when I walk out the door. From start to finish I wouldn't go anywhere else in town. Good job guys and keep it up. read more

As a former employee and a very loyal customer, this pizza place rocks. I love the range of endless possibilities that they offer. The lunch time buffet is great, ALL the pizza and salad you can eat for a great price. I have always had great service and never leave disappointed or hungry. I would recommend this pizza place over any other in the town of Ottawa. And about the sauce there are few more ingredients in the mix than just oregano and thyme. The crust is made daily and not left in a mixer at all. I think someone really doesn't know what they are talking about. Keep up the great job Rick and Juana. read more

I have been a loyal patron of PV (Pizza Village) for 30+ years. I remember being a little girl in the 70's eating there with my family. In junior high all the gang would go to PV after school dances. They must be doing something right to still be in business and have loyal customers like myself. Their ham sandwiches are amazing. The double crust/extra cheese pizzas are the best of the best. Not sure if they still make them but they are totally amazing and to die for. As for hiring teens, they have to start somewhere don't they? I am always happy with the service and the food!! I ordered the charbroiled burger with pepper jack cheese, jalapeños, and bacon. It was cooked well, but I realized I'm just not a fan of that distinct charbroiled flavor. You might ask, "Then why did you order it?" Fair question. I'd never had a burger with such a pronounced charbroiled taste before, so now I know it's just a personal preference, not a reflection of the burger itself. We also ordered the Farmer burger with an egg, cheddar cheese, and bacon, along with a plain cheeseburger. The plain cheeseburger was fantastic. The patties are a nice, average size. They're not massive, but they're satisfying and full of flavor. For sides, we tried the curly fries, crinkle fries, and tater tots. The crinkle fries were our favorite. Also, don't skip the homemade ranch. It was excellent. The real standout, though, was the staff. They were cheerful, helpful, and incredibly fast. The place was packed because of the fair, but everyone was hustling and keeping things running smoothly. I pride myself on leaving honest reviews, so I do have to mention the one downside: the flies. There were quite a few inside. I'm sure the heat and the fair/rodeo traffic made it worse, but it was definitely noticeable and annoying while eating. Overall, the food was good, the service was excellent, and I'd happily come back. Next time, I'll skip the charbroiled burger simply because I've learned that flavor isn't for me.
