The reason I gave it four stars is because it's unfortunately dated to the 1990's ambiance, otherwise I would give it a five- star review. I called in an order for Curry Chicken, extra-spicy, with white rice and a quart of Hot and Sour Soup. I absolutely love great Chinese Food and I order enough for three whole meals for a serious working man's meals. The Curry Chicken was outstanding with larger than normal quantity portions of chicken, accompanied by onions, mushrooms and broccoli in a robust extra-spicy curry sauce. They go the extra-mile with putting it into a reusable plastic lunch style tray and with clear top so you can see how delicious it looks. The white rice is perfect and so is Hot and Sour Soup, which was definitely piping hot and delicious savory aroma. You can't go wrong ordering your favorite meal or enough food to cater to hosting a large crowd in the restaurant or at work or at home. They included the traditional Chinese Fortune Cookies and eating utensils too in my togo orders. Please make sure that you try this Chinese Restaurant and enjoy your favorite dishes. I stopped in by myself around 1:30 on a Saturday to eat and kill time waiting to pick up kids from an event. Wait was less than 10 min for food. The food was edible but not very good. I had the orange chicken combo. The egg roll was good but the rice was hard, chewy/stiff. The chicken batter was hard and the meat was tough. Definitely need a toothpick. The orange sauce on the chicken was the best part, it was good and spiced just right. Service was okay but there wasn't a place to sit and eat inside so had to get to go. (There was a table for two but looked like it may have had something sitting on it that made me think it wasn't for guests?) This was definitely the worst Chinese food I've ever had. I ordered the sweet and sour shrimp, the cheese wontons, and the hot and sour soup. The one start I gave was for the hot and sour soup because it was actually pretty good. The shrimp was wildly over-battered and fried to where I would take a bite and be left with giant lumps of fried batter leftover after eating the actual shrimp. The wontons were the same way. There was barely any filling for the amount of leftover fried wonton wrapping, and the wrapping was extremely chewy and almost hard. This food did not taste fresh and it was overall oily and poorly made. I was very disappointed considering the reviews this place has. I'm not surprised there was only one other person here at noon on a Sunday. The teen behind the counter barely said anything. No hello, no smile, no thank you. Maybe he was just having a bad day. BF didn't really want to go, but I wanted to give them a chance. They couldn't be that bad... there was only one review to give them any credit! Bf and I made our first trip in early January, there was still a lot of snow on the ground. We were both so cold in the dining room that we left our coats on while we waited for our food. We had ordered in, so we were waiting at our table. After a reasonable amount of time, the guy came out of the kitchen, said, "here you go", and walked back into the kitchen. By this time, another person had come in to the building and was waiting around for the guy to come from the front, so we didn't know if it was hers or ours. The food was in to-go "attire" - plastic bag with food containers in it, so we figured it was hers. After a minute or so, the guy came back out and looked at the girl until she piped up that she wanted to order to-go. We knew then that the food that had been sitting there was ours. BF got up and confirmed with the guy before bringing it back. They didn't have any napkins, so we tried to keep our saucy food off our faces. He got the General Tso's Chicken was great! I had their Pepper Steak and thought it was equally good. On another trip, their Hot & Sour was good along with their lo mein. A couple had came in during the middle of our meal. They were greeted, no smile still, but asked if it was for here or to go. When their food was ready, he brought it to them on a tray. They do take credit cards, but you have to spend a certain amount - $10 if I remember correctly. I've been eating here for over 14 years. There is a Chinese place with higher Yelp scores much closer to my house, but I like the food, prices, and hospitality more here. Their food is excellent so I wasn't the bit surprised when I came once and a firetruck pulled up. They came to pick up their order and firefighters always know the best local places to eat! For food quality, they are 5 stars. This is actually just a place to grab good quality, reasonably priced take-out since their ambiance is more like that which you might find in an average fast food restaurant. First off, I don't think this 3 star rating they have is fair. The lunch special for $5.95 with entree, fried rice and egg drop soup or egg roll is a hell of a deal for people on a budget. Everything I have eaten here is delicious. I frequently pickup a large order for my coworkers and they all like it. Wow! What a pleasant surprise! We looked at restaurants around the area, and decided to take a chance. I ordered small orders of Low Mein and Chicken Chow Mein, because you never know with these; could be amazing or could be horrible. They were both amazing! We also ordered Sweet and Sour Chicken, which was fresh and some of the best I've ever eaten. My daughters sesame chicken was fresh and hot. She thinks it could've been spicier, but overall 4 out of 5 stars. The rice needed seasoning, eggs, and maybe pork or peas. It's nothing special. The eggrolls were our favorite part. I was wanting Asian but not Panda Express (only because I recently had Panda). As I opened the door and walked in I was expecting to return a canned greeting of 'Welcome to China One' or even just a 'Hello' but nothing but uninterested silence. Not that I need some sort of recognition, just seemed weird not getting that greeting you get so used to. I walked to the counter and was going to order the sesame chicken, I knew it was good because it's what I had the first time I visited. The young man behind the counter began what turned out to be the reason I'll never return to China One. He had the biggest chip on his shoulder, my questions of what was included in the sesame chicken lunch special was returned with a contemptuous reply. Like my presence was ruining his day. I couldn't believe the service was this bad. After I completed my order, paid, and sat down to wait for my meal, I noticed that the 1 or 2 phone calls he answered were just as bad and rude as he acted toward me. There was a cabbie who came in during my visit and his interaction with him was horrible. Keep in mind, it was about 2:30, not a crazy lunch rush. It was as if he was so bothered to have to do his job. There was a older woman (who I assumed was his mother) working in the back and presumably doing the cooking, and her body language and attitude conveyed a hard working and professional persona. I assume he is a spoiled brat who was forced to work at the family restaurant on a Saturday afternoon. He was a punk, and probably disappointed his mother in the way he turned out. The sesame chicken (served with fried rice) is phenomenal, and on its own would be worth the visit. It was served with steamed broccoli (not over cooked, but still had a fresh crispness to it) but it was served cold, which was disappointing. I got mine with a canned Diet Dr Pepper (my favorite pairing with Chinese food, not sure why) but could have gotten egg drop soup (which I got last time and was very pleased with) or an egg roll (that my friend couldn't finish because he said it was the worst egg roll he had ever had). I gave it 4 stars because I felt the main entree was easily 5 stars for 'fast food Chinese' but the service was more like 2 stars, but I didn't want to give 3 stars. I would recommend if you don't mind feeling like garbage for making a young man do his job. read more

Absolutely appalling! When I received my order it tasted bland, cold and items were missing! When I called them back they gave me the run around with their accents as a joke. When I requested that they send someone back out, you could hear them snickering and laughing at the failed attempt at producing a correct order. I'm not sure why this place has a 2-star average. I guess all of these people are more concerned with friendly service than quality of food, but I digress. I am very picky when it comes to chinese food, bad chinese food can be REALLY bad so I always try all the places around me when I move somewhere, until I find one I actually like. This is the best chinese take-out I have found in this area of OKC. Sure when I walked in the lady didn't smile, she didn't greet me like I would expect. But I ordered some chicken lo mein (best I've had anywhere in OKC), some beef broccoli (pretty darn good 3/5), fried rice (just what you'd expect), an eggroll (one of my go-to items for deciding if a chinese place is good... delicious eggroll 5/5), and some crab rangoon (also delicious). If this rating were based only on the food, I would rate it 5/5, it's all very delicious, comes in generous portions, and is moderately priced. The reason I gave 4/5 instead of 5/5 is because the service left a little to be desired. No "please" or "thank you", no smile, not many words exchanged at all. But they nailed the food. If you're looking for someone to make you feel good when you walk in the door, keep looking. If you're looking for good take-out this place will knock it out of the park from what I can tell.
