This is the best Chinese food in, not only Sandpoint, but even in the CDA, Post Falls area. We stop here frequently now that we found it. I mean, who looks for great Chinese food in a gas station store. And yet, there it is. I will say that the lady who takes your order is not very warm and friendly. The opposite in fact, she's like the soup nazi, so you will want to remain in line for the food. Nothing attractive about the place but it is very functional and clean. Lost 1 star owner taking orders not at all customer friendly. Lost another star because food was very bland and no flavor. Lost another price is way too expensive to be eating with plastic fork and spoon out of Styrofoam cups and plates. Lost another because no condiments. Owner lady is SUPER rude. Not just once in a while, pretty much every time. Even after being tipped well, she is just insufferable. Not gracious at all, doesn't appreciate her customers one bit. I've seen her be nice to men, but she hates women. Half of the Mongolian beef was huge slices of onions and half of the cold chow mein was cabbage. They skimp more than ever, and with her bad attitude and lack of respect for her customers, we'll never be back. read more

Best gas station Cantonese food in U.S. ha ha Ok, I am a sucker for mom and pop restaurants. The beef chow fun here is pretty good 4/5. The Hong Kong pan fried noodles, just OK 3/5. Both were a little greasy but not a deal breaker. So to address a few other review comments. Not friendly staff: yeah don't expect a cheerful greeting but don't take it personal. It's a cultural thing. Reminds me of my grandpa who used to answer most questions with "mind your own business". LOL He owned the Chinese restaurant which I grew up in. Bland and under seasoned food: yeah, a little but nothing sriracha and soy sauce can't fix. LOL Hey it's Cantonese not Sichuan. The upside is fresh ingredients, freshly prepared with some authenticity. It's a little pricey but everything is thanks to Biden. Cleanliness, customer service and good quality. I get that it's gas station Chinese food but with a restaurant price. Never again, trying to call in an order was mind numbing in its self. Then rude management. Yuck go to Thai Nageri or Safeway for good Chinese. read more

Want Chinese-American food in Sandpoint? This is it, unless of course you think Safeway's deli has good wok fare. It is primarily take out, being in a gas station, yet there are a few little tables should you wish to sit with the folks patiently waiting for their orders to take home. It's a rather unfriendly couple running it, which kinda freeked the Wifey out, but I had to explain to her they were busy as h***, and didn't have time to pull out pics of their grandkids to show. Regardless, the food was outstanding. I'm so darned tired of asian joints putting too much sugar in their dishes for us gringos, but these guys thankfully did not over do it. My Twice-Cooked Pork was perfect; spicy, and had quite a generous amount of protein. I did not get a pic of it because I was hammered at the campsite by the time I was hungry, sorry. Star of the show was Wifey's Wor Wonton Soup. Broth was excellent, and not too salty. Tons of protein in it, as well. Chinese food at a gas station??? YES!!! This restaurant reminds me of that couple in California who found a big box of gold coins from the 1800s buried in their backyard! I cannot understand any rating below 5 stars. The food here is EXCELLENT! I lived in China and in San Francisco and I carry my own chopsticks that I have owned for decades. This is the only good Chinese food in this town. You know it's good because the lady at the counter is rude. That's authentic Chinese right there! Wouldn't want it any other way. This spot is a nice change of flavor from the usual in sandpoint which consists of overpriced burgers, bland and dry "bbq", and hippy food that smells like farts and costs a months rent. As someone from the south, where they have good food. This is a hidden gem and it's always worth the price. Since moving to North Idaho last year, this is the best Chinese food we've found so far. While it may share premises with the Conoco station convenience store, this is one of those places where deceiving appearances must be dismissed in favor of faith and adventure. The pork fried rice is among the best I've ever had, and the other dishes--cashew chicken, kung pao chicken, broccoli beef--are solidly a step up from the more homogenized fare at somewhere like Panda Express. Service has always been quick and efficient. The owners/operators are there to make and sell food, not make conversation, but they always manage to get everything ready ahead of their usual 20 minute estimate. While you wait, you can peruse the variety of inexpensive, exotic looking knives, novelty sexual energy herbs and pipe tobacco for sale from the adjacent Conoco register. There is a sign present that says "Take Out Orders Only," or words to that effect, but there is a bar with stools running along one side of the little pocket where the restaurant operates, and a couple of small tables if you prefer not to stand while you wait. The menu is surprisingly broad, and despite what one may have been told about eating seafood from a gas station, their shrimp dishes are pretty good. Meal combos seem to be the way to go, as family style can be on the expensive side. Two entree containers, a container of fried rice and an order or two of egg rolls (with modest tip) comes out around $50. The egg rolls look really tasty, but I caught a sort of bitter aftertaste that wasn't necessarily bad, but not to my liking. Their fortune cookies, wherever they source them, are definitely a cut above average with remarkably specific fortunes that actually, in my experience, have some propensity for coming true. Located inside the gas station store kitchen is very clean and efficient. Ingredients are fresh and not overcooked. Taste/sauces are a little on the bland side for my taste. Though all the entrees are very tasty, do your mouth a favor and try the honey walnut chicken. A little pricey than the regular entrees but well worth it. Best authentic Chinese food in North Idaho! We had tried plenty of Chinese restaurants in the Coeur d'Alene area and was disappointed. Here we tried the generals chicken, green bean chicken, sweet and sour pork, and combo appetizer. They had plenty of flavor, fast service, good prices, and large portions.
