Always fresh and food is delicious. The rice is always soft and fluffy. Service is fast and efficient

it was very good and loved the atmosphere. the food was awesome and it was very quick and kind.

This is Chinese fast food and it's amazing I've tried a lot of dishes and everyone has been outstanding. I've never had a bad dish here. Beef is tender, chicken is delicious no matter what dish you get. It comes out fast and well made. You can't get a better burger or taco at a fast food restaurant. read more

this is my fault the worst Chinese food that I have ever had. The wings have no taste and the only reason the rice has any flavor at all is the soy sauce I've added. there's barely even a new pork and the rice for this amount of rice. read more

I was skeptical at first, but I'd highly recommend you try. Haven't had togo Chinese this good in a while - better than San Diego area on the west coast. That says a lot! Want something very quick, hearty, and delicious ingredients? Give it a try. If there's one thing I'd recommend is it can be a bit on the salty side. Next time I'll just request less salt, haha. read more

Food was great quick service with great communication to the customer really appreciate that

Service is always exceptional here. Pickup orders are preferable as they don't have much interior seating but as my local Chinese-American food joint, they always pull through. Through college, I worked at restaurants and every time I pickup food from this place the kitchen is spotless. This is one of the cleanest kitchens I've ever seen and I know the amount of work it takes to maintain those standards. Their fryers always look brand new and the oil is changed regularly. This is my favorite spot for a lazy day pickup meal. read more

Food was delicious! We are new to the area and have been putting off eating Chinese food because it's usually disappointing. This was very good. read more

They put some real love into this food and it was ready in only 15 minutes!!! They were quick and very nice. They also accept tap to pay! My food was busting out of the container and beautifully sauced to perfection. The egg rolls WERE COOKED SO GOOOD!!! Perfectly hot and crispy! My new fave spot! read more

This is not a restaurant you could eat inside. Sometimes the food takes longer than estimated, however, the food is always delicious. Best chinese food in this city. Get the tea and dilute it. ( add half tea half water in a cup.) Best iced tea. I noticed most chinese restaurants gravy taste like cigarettes. But at China Hut, the gravy tastes like gravy. Best egg foo young. read more

The rice was clumpy and over cooked. The egg rolls were cooked in grease that may have never been changed. I could not eat them because they were so greasy and dark. This was the 2nd chance. There will not be a third. read more

Food was great! I've been looking for a good Chinese restaurant and I think I found one!

It is a real legitimate takeout Chinese restaurant. Most times when you call in your order is ready in under 25 minutes. The food is always fresh, hot, and delicious. The portion and price is reasonable. read more

Food is amazing there. The service is something iffy but they get the job done and they have always been busy. I would call ahead for your food though or you'll be sitting for a while. read more

Food is really good and they give a generous amount! My mom in law loves the beef lomein, egg drop soup and shrimp egg roll. I love the Singapore noodles! read more

Hands down, the best simple Chinese-American takeout place in town. There's nothing fancy or unique here, it's the same basic menu you find at any of these places. There are only a couple of tables, as its pretty much takeout only. What makes it stand out is the execution. They really cook this food fresh, and they cook it well. There are good size chunks of meat in the dishes, they don't cheat you with overzealous breading, or padding the dishes with cheaper veggies. Their roast pork dishes are particularly excellent in my opinion. I also am a big fan of fried sichuan won tons, which are served coated with a rich and spicy brown sauce. Any of familiar basics, beef and broccoli, General tsos chicken, lo mein, etc. they execute those dishes well. It is a true mom and pop operation. It's always the same lady answering the phone and working the counter. She's pretty amazing, never asks for a name or phone number when you call in, but somehow knows what order is yours when you walk in. Her husband is always cooking behind her, and they are a well-oiled machine. Sometimes their little son is there as well. These are very nice people, who put a lot of care into their work, and turn out some excellent food. If you're looking for Chinese takeout in Bayview, you will not find better! read more

General Tso Chicken was great because it was so crunchy and good, the egg roll was great too. 10/10

What Kim said is 100% right on the money. China Hut is a very good Chinese-American take out. Expect good food, that is made to order with a good price. If you don't believe me, go there, and watch them make your food. The kitchen is literally right behind the counter. read more

This has to be some of the best and freshest Chinese food I have ever had. The inside is spotless and you can see everything they are cooking right in front of you. It's always the same 2 there who I assume are the owners. The lady at the front is very polite. You know the food is good when you can eat it without soy sauce!! This time I got the shrimp pancit and it is enough food for 3 people. Man oh man, guess I have to eat it all week. To sum it up....this place is awesome! read more

ATMOSPHERE - This is a typical whole-in-the-wall shopping center Chinese Takeout. While you will not find an air-conditioned lounge with a complete bar and waiters in tuxedos, you will find a clean, comfortable environment that is 100% suitable for restaurants of this kind. SERVICE - Impersonal, but friendly and efficient. FOOD - A tad underwhelming compared to other Norfolk Chinese takeouts. The ingredients are fresh and the serving sizes are generous; however, the sauces are somewhat underspiced and could use a kick up (especially the General Tao's). Some Dishes, including some Tofu options, come with no additional vegetables. VALUE - Great; a mountain of food that will set you back about 10 or 11 dollars on average Conclusion: While China Hut's food and atmosphere are bit underwhelming, they make up for these shortcomings with great service and exceptional value. This is your basic Chinese-American take out restaurant. No delivery and it's not somewhere you want to sit and eat. They make everything as it's called into order so your food is always LAVA hot. It's always the same woman working, she's there to work, get in, get your food, and leave... no small talk here. This place is close to my house so I use it as my go to, I can't really say anything spectacular about it but I can't say anything bad just your run of the mill local Chinese spot. Don't go out of your way to avoid it but don't go out of your way to get to it. read more

Mediocre Chinese take out at best. Hot & Sour soup ... my Italian grandma makes better. Fried fish??? I should have gone to a seafood place. Pork fried rice had like 3 pieces of pork. Only thing palatable was the egg rolls. read more

Just a super small hole in the wall type place but the staff is really nice and the food is delicious.

This was one of my top restaurants to go to, I always ordered the same entree with it always being hot and delicious well until one day I'm eating and I find a long black hair in my lo mein, my wife wasn't home so I know this long strand of hair came from this restaurant I was so disappointed and disgusted it took awhile for me to try this restaurant again, overall nice place but check your food read more

If you need take out this is definitely a place to go in our area. It's quick, easy to get to, and they're absolutely fantastic people. I quite literally never had anything here but I haven't loved, including guests that have been in town who love the Chinese food from this restaurant. read more

if it was possible to give zero stars I would have. or ever better: negative stars. if that was possible this place would get -5 stars. OMG! the worst, most inedible Chinese food I've ever had the misfortune to eat. well, truth? It's NOT Chinese, it's NOT food and I DIDN'T eat it. I took two bites of the shrimp toast but spit out the second since I was afraid I was going to get food poisoning since it wasn't just revolting but weird, slimy and burned jet black. the general tso chicken was a puddle of gelatinous goo mixed with bits of bird jerky. the veggie lo-mein may have contained vegetation, but if so it was grown long, long, long ago in the bottom of a trash can in an alley in Calcutta. $35.00 isn't a kings ransom for dinner but it is if the "food" is so rotten that everyone takes two bites and throws the remainder out. RUN AWAY! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, RUN AWAY! read more

Hands down the best American-Chinese food joint in the area... Possibly the state... I grade a Chinese food joint specifically on a staple/ standard dish, General Tso's Chicken Combo... It's the balls! The meat doesn't taste like fried kittens, the rice is tasty, the sauce is great, and the egg roll is pretty decent. The BBQ ribs are pretty tits as well, a little odd cause they are pork ribs cut into small pieces but still pretty damn tasty!! The food is always made fresh and the people running it are very nice. I asked for some rice paper spring roll wraps and they happily obliged. Very good, pretty fast, also pretty small... Can't say enough good things about it! read more

The past 2 times I've ordered from them they have not had my order ready at the time they said it would be and I have had to wait at the restaurant for it longer than the original time they told me on the phone. The taste and appearance of the food has also gone down since I first started ordering from there. I couldn't stand to eat it the last time I ordered it. read more

Very good American Chinese food at a great price. It's a little hole-in-the-wall place with no seating, but the food is reasonable, tasty, and very fresh, and the staff is very friendly. We order take-out from them about once a week and we like this place quite a bit. read more

This is the closest Chinese restaurant to our house, which is why we sometimes get food here. Walking distance makes it convenient, but somehow it's not quite as good as the Chinese restaurant we usually go to, even if its a little farther. That's not to say that it's bad; it's not. It's just nothing special. It's also not really for eating in. There are a few small tables, but it's mainly for sitting at while you wait for the take-out. Parking is in a cramped, shared parking lot. Never had problems parking there, though. read more

Best Chinese food. They are always fast and very courteous. I order from them at least once a week and they always remember me.

I haven't found a place that serves better take-out. Lunch specials are $4.45 and one is enough to fill up all but the hungriest of men. I find it's most convenient to call in with my order and show up about 10 minutes later than they specify. They underestimate their cooking times a bit. read more

I was craving Some awesome Chinese food tonight, but sadly was very disappointed with the quality. The duck sauce is... I don't even know what. The pork fried rice looked like someone accidentally made a vegetable batch and then threw some pork bits in there, and the crab rangoons just tasted gross. My total, according to the pricing on the menu came out to be $10 more than what it should have, but the woman couldn't speak well enough English to understand me. I will never come here again, which is unfortunate, because it was super close to my house! read more
