Decently cheap for lunch and yummy food. But I must say the general tso's sauce was a bit on the strong side.

I recently ordered takeout from Asian Bistro in Imperial for dinner. I called ahead and ordered…read morewonton soup, egg rolls, and General Tsos chicken. They quoted me 15 mins and the food was ready at that time. I walked in and paid with a card and was in and out within a minute. They do have a few booths inside, if you wanted to eat there, but I would say it's mainly takeout. The parking lot is massive and shared with several other businesses in the plaza. The food was still hot by the time I got it home. The wonton soup only comes in a smaller pint version and I'm used to a quart size. So, I was a little disappointed by that. However, the soup was delicious. It had a dark and flavorful broth. The vegetable rolls were definitely more reminiscent of spring rolls, but still delicious. They didn't curb my craving for an egg roll, though. The general tsos came with white rice and the entree was musky spicy, crunchy, and served with broccoli and carrot slices. I enjoyed the flavor of the sauce and thought the portion size was fair for the price.

I got the lunch special of hunan sauce with veggies and fried rice and hot and sour soup. The hot and sour soup was AMAZING! I wish I had ordered an extra one. I love this soup and very few places make it authentic - this one was PERFECT! I really want to go back and ask for the recipe and have more of it. Hunan sauce with veggies and fried rice was soooo sooo goood! It was so authentic and just perfect taste wise! Enough veggies and cooked perfectly. If I lived here I would be a weekly customer! The owner/ worker was so pleasant and welcoming! They have such an extensive menu wish I could have tried more things! By far one of the best traditional basic Chinese meals.

You start by choosing your broth (the curry was my fave), then load up on meats, seafood, veggies, noodles, and sauces, and cook everything right at your table. It's interactive, hands-on, and way more than just a quick dinner. On top of the hot pot, they also offer sushi, boba, and even a grill option, so there's truly something for everyone. It's especially great for groups where everyone wants something a little different -- from mild and comforting to seriously spicy. The vibe encourages you to slow down, enjoy the process, and make a whole evening out of it. Definitely come hungry and pace yourself... all-you-can-eat is no joke. Located in Robinson Township, this spot is a great option for a fun, customizable meal that feels more like an experience than just eating out. Would absolutely come back (and probably go spicier next time).

Pay attention to cook times before putting food on or in. Some of them are very short. The bar is not a full bar and the specialty alcoholic drinks we got weren't very good. I'd recommend trying a specialty tea or boba (if you like that - I don't, but people with them looked happy & the specialty tea drink I got was very good. The service is great and bubble or specialty tea drinks are served by the cat robot, which I love. The desserts are all pretty bland. Skip them. Eat more regular food. The restaurant is cool looking, but not suitable for large parties. The table we were at supposedly seated 4, but it would have been tough to have 6 people in the booth. There would be enough room for the people, but not the plates and drinks. Also, we saw no tables larger than 6 tops. In addition to that, most of the tables are booths, which is really annoying for a restaurant where you need to get your own food to cook. We'll definitely go back sometime. I want to try other hot pot cooking choices.

After my most recent order, I'm no longer concerned. The space itself is nicely presented and spacious, providing enough room to ensure tables don't feel too dense or on top of one another. We ordered takeout this time, and the online ordering experience was generally good (but could be improved). Our order was very nicely packaged to survive the trip home. The front of house staff were very kind and helpful, but they also seemed to be stretched a little thin. In terms of the food, everything was packed with flavor and texture. I particularly enjoy the Sichuan pickled vegetables, which tend to be a combination of pickled radish and tiny peppers with some heat coming from dried pepper flakes. The spicy wood ear mushroom is another nice appetizer. We ordered several different items, but the squid in hot and spicy pot really stood out. Our dish didn't match the photos on the ordering page, but I would argue that the result was even better. A nice balance of spice and dried hot peppers, without being overwhelming. A nice crunch from some sliced taro root. A nice texture from both squid and fish cakes. The quick fried cabbage and sautéed snow pea leaves were both excellent pairings and added some vegetable matter. All told, this continues to be an excellent destination. Highly recommended for both dine-in and take-out.

There were no other parties dining at this time. Our server was friendly and helpful with the menu. I thought the portion sizes were fair for the price. For entrees, we ordered general tsos chicken, chongqing chicken, and fish in hot & spicy pot. The size of all 3 dishes were impressive. The soup bowl was the largest I've ever seen. My plate of chonqing chicken was at least 3-4 portions. I was a little surprised by the level of spice on the chonqing chicken. It was extremely spicy and there was no indication of that when I ordered. It would've been nice for the server to confirm that I could handle that level of heat. I barely ate 1/4 in the restaurant, took some home, tried to doctor it up/cool it down, but it was borderline inedible for me. I loved the layout of the place. It was a little outdated and the bathroom wasn't the nicest, but the furniture and ambiance was relaxing. Parking is on the street.

While I felt like the original location was slightly better with the overall flavors, this place was pretty darn good. Service was friendly and decent too. The menu is PACKED with many authentic items, so much to choose from, but be sure to use the Chinese menu, not the American menu. The meats in our food choices were tender and fresh... same with the veggies. The flavors were very nice and spice level was low when I asked for "regular" level of spicy, so if I came back, I'd ask for a little more heat. We enjoyed most everything was got - The Dan Dan Noodles were basic, tho flavored nicely, they were like an "Asian spaghetti" so they weren't as good as they should have been. The cucumbers were boring, they definitely needed to have smashed garlic sauce and hot peppers added to the flavor from the kitchen, not just me adding heat at the table. The cumin beef was so tender and tasty! But needed more spice. The scallion pancakes were the best I've had yet! Their garlic sauce that came with the scallion pancakes was so incredibly tasty and those pancakes were flakey and done so nicely! For wok'd greenbeans, the only option was to get their stringbeans and pork and ask for no meat, but add spice - this worked PERFECTLY and they wok'd them right! Overall, it was a very nice visit and despite my opinion on the lack of depth of flavor and heat, this place would definitely satisfy most - So Go, give them a try!!

Just be warned that their cucumber salad is just cucumbers (there's no rice vinegar, sesame oil, or soy sauce), this was a let down. But the scallion pancakes and string beans were very good. The service though was a little frustrating. It took a while for a waiter to come to our table. We also had a couple of different waiters because we weren't understood and had to do a lot of pointing at the menu. Aside from that, I'm really happy that this restaurant is on McKnight!

The restaurant itself is in a bit of a drab strip mall, but it's generally nicely decorated with colorful signage and a nicely kept interior. In terms of the food, the shrimp spinach dumplings were really nicely done, with lots of flavor and texture. My partner especially enjoyed the barbecue pork bao, which were nicely steamed with a very flavorful filling. The egg tart was good, but not really my thing. It had a bit of a caramelized sugar flavor reminiscent of waffles with syrup. The spicy oil splashed noodles, one of the noodle dishes on the menu, was generally lacking: some nice toppings, but not much flavor. Overall, this is a nice little place that seems to be fairly well run. I suggest going for the dim sum and giving up on expectations for anything on the menu that isn't dim sum.
