This place is one of two Chinese restaurants you will find in the CIty of Coachella. They're family owned, have good service, they're clean and are a local favorite. I come here as often as I go to the other - which is at least once a month. I really only come here for my hubby. He likes the combo lo mein. Today, though, I decided to try their spicy soup. It's not on the menu above. It's in a flyer stand on the counter. Usually, across the board, take out isn't as big as a dine-in portion. And I was totally expecting everything to be in the soup container. To my fortune surprise, the noodles, veggies and meat were in a take out container and the stock was in a soup container. I really appreciated this because my noodles weren't all soft and soggy by the time I got home. The veggies weren't limp and the bean sprouts were fresh and crisp. The stock had a bite to it. I know it says spicy... i just wasn't expecting it to be that spicy. I only ate half, I plan on throwing an egg in that bad boy tomorrow :P I only gave it 4 star because I only ever come for the combo noodles (and now the spicy soup) so i can't speak on any of the other items. I'll definitely be back. My soup was well worth the $12 is spent on it. :)

I've already been eating for five minutes and this plate is freaking huge. This place is awesome. 11 bucks for 5 pounds.

#2 combo with noodles, tso chicken & Mongolian beef (and peanuts).

Great service. Fresh tasting. Clean restaurant. Cashier was very kind. Total came out to 13$ for the whole plate.

Every time, if I have a chance and if I am in Coachella, China Express is a hidden gem, I would always prefer over Panda . I like the people and their food . My favorite Mongolian beef and noodles, and add some hot oli sauce . People should seek this gem out. If there is a await, like on the weekend, it's worth it.

This place used to be good. I haven't been here in a few years. I went after work yesterday & it was busy. I waited for a while. A few people waiting for food indoors yesterday were coughing all over & not covering their mouths or wearing masks. Service was friendly. Now to the food....utterly disappointing! The pineapple chicken was always good but yesterday it was bad! It was mostly over fried breading & super dry! The orange chicken wasn't dry but had a strange acidic artificial tasting sauce & the chicken was soggy. Not sure if I'll be back. Really disappointed by yesterday's visit.

Food was pretty good. Not a big fan of the egg rolls. I got sesame chicken, fried rice, and noodles. Plus a side of egg rolls.

Okay as a vegan it's hard to find places with options. This place has two which is better than none! Their tofu and veggie platter was made fresh to order and is so bomb! A lil spicy but super tasty!! My mother who got chop suet chicken and chow mein was super impressed with the flavor of it all! Something they put in their sauce is just fire. A new favorite go to Chinese spot!

Their food was still very good, and I was lucky to be there before they close for the summer. Recommendations: Garlic cucumber, clear noodle with dressing, spicy combo pot, stir fried lamb, spicy wonton soup, fish with sichuan pickles The only thing I don't recommend is fried eggplant. Portion was very small for the price ($17), it was stuffed with minced meat which wasn't in the description (I wouldn't have ordered it if I knew) They will be closed from May 25th through Sept 21st, 2026.

We ordered from their already limited dim sum menu which was suppose to be available until 4 pm per their menu. ( we got there around 2:40 pm) Other parties arrived after us yet they were served their food before us. The service was not great. The food was subpar. They even charged me for food they didn't even deliver. When I expressed I never got the food yet she charged me she tried to get me to pay for someone else's food. I told her that was not my bill. I would not recommend coming here. The table was dirty and so was the cutlery. It got two stars because the pan fried scallion tasted fine and my daughter liked it.

Several patrons were enjoying their meal as well as a few people who sat at the bar having drinks. Our server was very polite and attentive. She served our drinks and did not push us to order until we were ready. The two appetizers we chose were delicious. The pancake had just the right amount of kick to it. The chutney complimented it very nicely. The spring rolls were crispy and flavorful. Not greasy nor dry. When duck is available on a menu, I always order it. Duck is one of my favorite dishes. I was not disappointed. The portion size was ample, enough to make a meal for the following day. The duck was accompanied by an orange glaze and a side of rice. My Aunt thoroughly enjoyed the crispy shrimp which also came on a bed of rice. We ordered the garlic spinach to share. The one disappointment was that green tea ice cream was not available. My Aunt opted for vanilla ice cream. A slice of white cake was offered complimentary as a birthday treat. I sipped on a glass of Merlot. Overall we had a very pleasant and relaxing evening. I highly recommend JOY Asian Cuisine and look forward to experiencing another unique meal.

Literally, did not realize until just now when I wanted to make a return visit to Palm Tree Palace. I've removed my review from the wrong restaurant. So here is the review you deserved! So sorry for that mistake! The algorithm got me that time. Fast service and tasty food prepared quickly as well. Busy night of mostly parties of 2, and one large party of about 6. Large portions for dinner. We had enough for two more meals. Fried rice was a lil crunchy, but overall the food was great. Wish they had dinner combinations.
