This Chinese restaurant offers a pretty authentic dining experience, both in flavor and atmosphere. The interior has a nostalgic charm, complete with fish tanks and classic dragon decorations. It does feel a bit dated, with wood paneling and booth seating that looks straight out of the 1980s. Still, that old-school vibe might be part of its appeal for some, especially the boomer crowd who seem to enjoy the variety of soup options on the menu. The food leans mild in spice, so if you prefer more heat, I'd recommend asking for their hot mustard or chili paste, both are great additions. The steamed tofu is especially soft and comforting, but there's also a fried option if you want something crispier. Service was a highlight. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. There's even a bar area, and they host MMA fights on the weekends if that's your thing. With a few updates to the decor, this spot could really shine even more, but overall it's a solid, laid-back place for a satisfying meal.

China Dragon Restaurant 27 E Queen Ave, Spokane, WA 99207 http://chinadragonspokane.com/ D I S A P P O I N T E D Read the past negative reviews about the quality of food going back 5 months- 1 year. It's been 3 years since we were last here, and the food quality was fantastic then. Last week's experience at what was once a great Chinese restaurant is no more. Notice that the owners now fail to respond to any Google Maps reviews. To be fair, I will point out a few positives. They did accommodate 5 of us with a reservation, and the chairs are comfortable. The server was very persistent in making sure we had everything we needed, the whole time. The service was fast. The hot tea was abundant. The combination plate sizes were the largest we have ever seen for a Chinese restaurant. Large fried prawns are about 8 to 10 inches. However, the negatives abound. The outside of the restaurant has not been maintained. I mention the sizable proportion served. But quantity does not make up for inferior quality. I ordered a combination #11 plate, Almond Chicken, Special Chow Mein, BBQ Pork, and an Egg Roll. The gravy in the Almond Chicken blended from no taste to an identifiable flavor. Not the flavor I am accustomed to across the western states at many other Chinese Restaurants. The special Chow Mein does have the advantage of not having any celery, but the soft noodles were gummy. The broccoli in the Special Chow Mein is undercooked. The BBQ Pork had no flavor except for the red sauce I dipped the pieces into. The large Egg Roll was salvageable with the requested hot oil. I purposely did not use soy sauce to get the true flavor of the cuisine. I usually do not write bad reviews, but my experience here is a fair warning to others. If the owners were concerned, they would be responding to the negative reviews as well as the positive ones.

Was our first time here and was a good little visit. Restaurant seems dated but it gives it character and the waitress was super nice. I ordered Combo M which was Egg Drop Soup, Spicy Chicken, Chicken Fried Rice, Chow Mein and I got a Cherry Lemonade to drink. The soup was pretty awesome I really enjoyed it and my Cherry Lemonade which was a little sweet but that's OK I still slammed it. The Spicy chicken wasn't like overpowering spice it seemed like a light amount of heat which wad good but it did sneak up on you. The breading on the Spicy chicken was awesome and the sauce was very awesome I really liked it. The chicken fried rice was OK, I'm sorry to say I think I'm used to chicken fried rice like panda express and teriyaki spice, but I really enjoyed it and if I didn't like it I wouldn't have eaten the entire thing. I enjoyed the chow mein with veggies it tasted very good. Overall our experience was good and we left way beyond full and we loved the lunch price as it was all affordable and I hope they never change their price for lunches as we would love to go back. If you haven't been to China Dragon go and check it out during lunch as it's very affordable and they have various options on their menu you won't regret the visit.

Met my Dad at China Dragon Spokane for lunch today. Our server was great, the restaurant and bathrooms were clean. My Dad had been saying (for quite some time) that he wanted to go to a Chinese restaurant that had brown sweet and sour sauce, not the red sweet and sour sauce that is very prevalent in our area. When I was pregnant with my Son (that will be 31 this year ) my Dad and I went to The China Dragon every single week. It's where I learned to master chopsticks, because I wanted to "impress" my MIL (she was Japanese). I knew they had the brown sweet and sour, so we made plans for lunch. Was going to be yesterday, but Father's Day was more fitting. Food was really good, dinner prices are a little higher than many other places in town, lunch prices are decent, but the amount of shrimp in the shrimp dish that came with my dinner-sized combo was ridiculous (two tiny shrimp in my black pepper shrimp). I did have lots of leftovers though. So definitely check out China Dragon, it's been around for a long time. The food is good, the restaurant is clean. Just don't order any stir-fried shrimp dishes.

Sitting in the bar area. Very comfortable!

I love this place! We always come January 1st, it's a tradition. We sit in the bar. Perfect to watch the football games. We got Spicy Beef Noodle Soup and egg rolls. And the oolong Jasmine tea is amazing!! Bathroom is clean & smells good which is important to me! If I was a local, this would be my go to bar spot! Mandy is a great waitress in the bar area, very attentive & friendly! Great service!

We also love the almond chicken and the lo-main noodles -- both are always delicious and consistently good. Another thing I really appreciate is that when we order to go, the food is always packaged well and never spills out of the containers. and I prefer the box instead of the back so that comes really handy. The restaurant is always clean and well put together, which makes the whole experience even better. Great food, great portions, and a welcoming place we definitely recommend! Great job guys... :)

We ordered the Vegetable Delight (stir-fry), Chicken Ho Fen, and Popcorn Chicken. Everything was delicious, and there was more than enough food to feed three people. For drinks, we got the Strawberry Matcha (without the foam), Oolong Black Tea with Sea Salt Foam, and Okinawa Milk Tea. Even after choosing "less sugar," the drinks were still a bit too sweet for my taste. The boba was also a little too cold and firm, which is why I'm docking one star. Next time, I'd probably order them with no sugar and give the boba another try. Overall, I really enjoyed dining here and would definitely come back!

The ambience was a throwback, and I would love to see a restaurant this large bustling. It was clean but dated, in a charming way if you can appreciate its history. We had the boo boo appetizer platter which was good, although the quantity of food wasn't quite worth the price and it was tough for each person to try each item. The favorite was the fried prawn and egg rolls. My husband ordered the No 1 and I ordered the No 2. My dish was great! The fried rice lacked flavor. My husband's dish, while elements were good, was overall unappetizing from the plating and what seemed to be a pile of steamed cabbage taking up half the plate. My mom's Moo Shu pork was disappointing to her, but as someone that has no frame of reference for what it should be I thought it was good. I will say, I loved that nothing was super greasy and everything seemed fresh. It was not the best tasting Chinese food, but I also didn't leave with a gut bomb and feeling gross. I'll probably be back given its convenient location and fresh options!
