    "Small" Pork Lo Mein.
    Jennifer L.

I wanted some good Chinese and found this spot on google. Checked the reviews here, not so good. Tried it anyway. I called in a lunch order and no problems there, typical phone order for such a place. Went to pick it up. Easy to enter parking lot across from the iconic Clermont Lounge. Went to the window, paid, and on my way. I ordered the Pepper Steak lunch combo, fried rice instead. Came with a wonton soup and spring roll. Also got a small pork lo mein for later. Everything was delicious. Cooked and spiced well. Pepper steak was awesome. Portions were generous. I will 100% order from here again!

House Special Pan Fried Noodles I was expecting lo mein (soft thin noodles) or chow fun (broad soft noodles). I got crispy fried (ramen looking) noodles instead. Very disappointed. Not the textures I was expecting.

Good and cheap is hard to find. This spot has it. I got a small sesame chicken and a small general tso's chicken. I believe my order came to about 20.70 or something like that. The portion was EXTREMELY generous for a small. I was stunned. And pleasantly surprised to get two things of rice as well. It wasn't the best Chinese food I've ever had but it's certainly good. The sesame chicken wasn't as sweet as others I've had. The general tso's was spicy. I'll definitely come here again! Glad to have a nice affordable spot for Chinese food in this area!

Rib tips and house lo mein

Let me preface by saying I'm from Philly and I know the south is not known for Chinese food, but I was hoping to find something edible. So I ordered via Uber eats on a Friday night....mind you I have eaten nothing off of this plate before I took the pic. Ordered the rib tips, house lo mein, small chicken fried rice, beef lo mein and 2 egg rolls. The egg rolls were horrible! Ate a quarter of one and threw them both away. The rib tips were mainly seasoned bones with barely any meat on them. Hell as you can see in the pic there were even straight up bones with nothing on them. The house lo mein and chicken fried rice were passable, but I def wouldn't recommend. My friend enjoyed the beef lo mein but he's from the south and probably doesn't know any better j/k. Needless to say I'm 0-2 for Chinese food in Atlanta and def do not recommend this place at all if you come from the north and are accustomed to a certain type of Chinese food. Just go back home and get right. I wasted $80+ with the fees on this and I was tight. I repeat don't do it!!

I have ordered from this establishment quite a bit and they've yet to disappoint. My Go to dish is salt & Pepper shrimp (appetizer). The dishes that I've tried have been absolutely wonderful. Salt & Pepper shrimp Shrimp w Broccoli General Tso's Chicken Shrimp Fried rice Scallops in Brown Sauce

Super fast service for takeout! Got super sick and needed some egg drop soup, which was perfect! Everything else I ordered was classic Chinese, but nothing amazing. Great for a quick Chinese craving!

Lo Mein should never be this color. It should be tinted brown with flavor from the sauce.... Extremely BLAND

We were a party of 5 and found both the food and the service to be inconsistent. The Food: Most dishes were mediocre or worse. The Three Cups Chicken (1/5) was the worst I've ever had. The Hong Kong Style Shrimp (1/5) was just bland, tasteless fried shrimp. The Lamb with Scallion (2/5) was far too salty. The only "average" dish was the Spicy Beef and Tendon (3/5), but one decent dish can't save a meal this poor. The Service & Billing: The service was quite slow during our visit. We waited a long time for the check and eventually ended up packing our own leftovers and heading to the front counter to pay so we could head out. I was also surprised to see an automatic 20% gratuity added to the bill, especially since it was calculated on the total after tax ($23.07 tip on a $106.80 subtotal). While I understand automatic tips for groups, it felt a bit high due to poor services. There are a lot of great dining spots in the area, but based on this disappointing visit, I'm sure I would not return to this one.

Parking: For anyone coming here for any occasion make sure you validate your parking with the restaurant. The ONLY parking lot they validate is the one right beside the restaurant! Drinks: I got the strawberry lemon drop drink. It was good and did come with the vodka flavor with natural strawberry syrup. It was good. The vegetable dumpling was good! On to the main entree was the House Lo Mein. It was just average and not the greatest I've tried. It took a minute before our server came back. To me it needed more flavor, seasoning and it didn't have any spice what's so ever! I wouldn't get it again. The thing I found annoying/unprofessional was the staff taking forever to give me and my friend out checks. We came into the establishment an hour before they closed. At that time a lot of people were still in the place. However, by the time we received our checks we were the last people in their establishment. The other individuals were the workers cleaning up. We tried to get a server to come to our table sooner but wasn't successful. This is my sole opinion but I wasn't over impressed over food.

The whole setup is like a mini food hall with several authentic Chinese spots to choose from--but Chong Qing is where I landed. I ordered the crispy chicken with garlic sauce and swapped the white rice for a side of house lo mein (yes, it's an upcharge, but worth it). Everything came out on real dishes--not to-go boxes--which I loved. You order and pay at the counter, grab a seat, and they bring the food out to you. Now let's talk about the food... DELICIOUS. The spice level was just right--flavorful with a nice kick, but not overpowering. If you like it hotter, you can definitely add more heat, but I was perfectly satisfied as is. The lo mein was really good too--veggies were fresh with a nice crisp (those onions and carrots were hitting!), and everything tasted well-balanced. Only small note: I wish there was a little more meat in the dish, but it didn't take away from the overall experience. And let me say this--the portion size is VERY generous. I ate until I was full and still had just as much left to take home, which is always a win in my book. All in all, I'll definitely be back to try more. If you're in Chinatown Market and not sure what to pick, Chong Qing Hot Pot is a solid choice. 4/5 stars for me!
